I really liked my doctor and the fact that it's an all female staff. Everyone that I worked with was extremely nice and I couldn't complain. The nurse that took my blood was really personable and I barely even felt the needle. The location is a bit odd, but now that I know where it is, it won't be an issue. What I like most is that they promote natural and holistic approaches, when possible. That was what initially drove me in, having trouble with other local doctors not being well versed in current hormone replacement options. My only complaint is the length of time it takes them to call in prescriptions. The day of my appointment, I asked for a refill on a medication and it wasn't sent in until the next morning. When my bloodwork came back a few days later showing another deficiency that needed addressed, it took them 4 days and 2 phone calls to get it finally called in.

I was referred by Dr. Stanley Harper at the Avon location to Dr. Greg Chernoff. I did my initial…read moreconsultation in July with Jamie the patient coordinator. She took before and after (photoshopped) photos and told me what to expect and we reviewed the costs. If I waited until October or later there was a prospective discount that might be available. I was willing to wait for that possibility. In September an availability became open with the aforementioned discount. Then I met with the doctor, head nurse, and Jamie again at my next appointment. Both Dr Greg Chernoff and Nurse Julie have been doing these procedures that I was selecting for 30 years. I was comfortable with everything they were telling me. My only concern was for the length of time for me personally to heal at that point. I figured it might be longer than normal due to my age. Everybody was extremely helpful and made me 100% comfortable with their process and procedures. Since I lived an hour away, they asked if I had time and we decided to do the the pre-op appointment at the same time. I learned my surgery was going to take five hours which is the longest I've ever been under general anesthesia. During the following week, I was able to get approvals from my primary care physician as well as the specialist that sees me for my worst chronic disease and get her approval too. The anesthesiologist approved the procedure with a weekend phone call. Nurse Julie had called me on the prior Sunday to review a lot of information as well. These people really go above and beyond what I am used to in the medical profession. Dr. Chernoff absolutely goes way beyond any expectations you would have to a point you have to tell your friends and family how amazingly he stands by his statement of "we're going to take real good care of you" which he stated to me several times before my surgery. He came through for me 1000% on everything. On my day of surgery, Wednesday September 28, I left the waiting area and went back to the pre-op bed on time and soon Dr. Chernoff visited me to go over what lay ahead. I had a couple of questions about recovery expectations. Then Dr. Himebstein, my anesthesiologist, came to review my medications, my blood work, and ask questions about my medical history. I did not have any questions for him because he covered everything so thoroughly. I woke up six hours later and Nurse Ellen took care of me for the rest of the day and all night. I was her only patient to take care of. There was one other overnight patient but he too had his own nurse. Soft drinks, snacks , and pain meds were available for whenever you needed them. Dinner was provided by a delivery service from Jimmy John's. I had Teddy Grahams for dessert. In the morning, I got checked out earlier than expected after visiting with Dr. Chernoff again. He again reaffirmed everything wet smoothly and I told him I was happy with the results. As a matter of fact the pain threshold was much lower than I had expected. We confirmed my next appointments for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings. I ended up checking into the Drury Plaza Hotel, only two stop lights from Chernoff Cosmetic Surgery, on Friday so I didn't have an hour commute every day and needless stress over I-465 daily traffic. I had thought about this plan before the surgery so I was prepared. Corinne, a 15 year employee, saw me every day except weekends and helped me immensely in the office with my post operative recovery on the following Friday, then Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of the following week. Dr Chernoff referred me to the Hyperbaric Oxygen Clinic for four oxygen treatments which helped with my healing and recovery immensely. I completed the four daily consecutive treatments on Friday, October 7th, as well as nine daily consecutive appointments with Chernoff Cosmetic Surgery on the same Friday. On Monday, October 10th, the rest of my sutures were removed. My healing and recovery are right on schedule. Now I will be seen once a week for the next month, then once a month for a few months. I'm still completely satisfied with the results, and with Dr. Chernoff and his awesome staff! Once I am completely healed, I will upload a new profile photo and you all can tell me what you think (if anyone is still reading my longest review, lol). They are all knowledgeable of the process and they make you feel comfortable.Getting in for an appointment was very easy and the follow up they do is very much appreciated. No more large surface veins this summer which used to get discussed often.

If you have never had one of these, it is essentially you standing or lying there in your bra and underwear while every inch of you is examined for potentially cancerous moles. Awkward, but totally normal. I am not a shy person, but in the room was the male doctor, female nurse, and male scribe. Three strangers staring at me while I stood nearly naked (a few months post pregnancy, so fat and hormonal). The doctor asked if it would be uncomfortable for the scribe to be in there, but of course it is just as uncomfortable to say yes and kick him out. My second visit was an absolute disaster and the reason I will not go back. I had a non-cancerous something-or-other that I want removed. Over the phone, they recommended a laser treatment. I received paperwork that they moved offices, but no information on the laser treatment. I spoke with someone twice over the phone. They never explained how the laser worked or exactly where their offices were. I did not realize they were inside the hospital and did not know which entrance to go in, so I was frazzled by the time I arrived and had a good long walk to get there. Reception gave me a huge packet of paperwork to sign, but it included a waiver saying I would pay for the laser treatment no matter how much it cost and that it likely was not covered by insurance. I told her I could not sign it without knowing more. She said they did not expect me to sign it until I spoke with the doctor - except she had JUST told me to fill everything out. I had a similar experience with the nurse. She seemed even more frustrated that I would not sign the forms and had a bit of an attitude with me. The final straw was when I saw the doctor, 25 minutes after my appointment time. He was very blasé about my experience so far and referred to the laser treatment as "no big deal." And in the grand scheme of treatments he provides, it probably is not a big deal. But I am having a laser pointed at my body to burn something off of it, so to me, it is a big deal. I thought it was reasonable that I would want to know more before having the procedure and it was frustrating that throughout the visit, everyone's attitude seemed to be EYEROLL it's not a big deal, just sign the damn paperwork. I was so uncomfortable and, frankly, angry at that point, I refused the treatment and left. PSA for professionals out there. Things stop being scary or a big deal for you WAAAAAAY before they stop being that for your patients, clients, or customers. Being a professional myself for 10+ years, this was a good reminder to take a step back, put yourself in the client's shoes, remember that what you deal with every day can be pretty darn terrifying and overwhelming to them, and act accordingly.

Once I arrived for my appointment I was greeted and had to fill out new patient paperwork and give my insurance your typical standards. After I completed everything I was called back very quickly. The doctor had came back and answered the questions I had and pointed out things before I got to it. He was very informative and explained things to me to where I could understand it. I love that I did not spend a long time in the office. The customer service was great and I did not have any issues. The office is nice and clean and easy to find. If you are looking for a dermatologist who cares and will explain things to you then for sure check him out.

She came back on the phone and said they did not. I told her that I thought this was strange--that this is a dermatologist and it is advertised on their website. Then she told me the website needed to be updated and that it was wrong. When I questioned her again, she said she had asked a medical assistant but now she would ask a nurse. Evidently, the nurse said they did do peels. When I asked her why she did not know what services the doctor provided, she told me she only works at the front desk. I asked to be connected to the nurse--and then I was placed on indefinte hold. What doctor has staff who work in their office yet has no idea what services the doctor provides?
