Buckle up, this was a rough ride…read more
I scheduled my breast augmentation with Dr. Robey in October 2025. I chose her because of her credentials, Surgeon of the Year recognition, and because she was a female surgeon. I thought I was in good hands.
My consultation felt transactional and dismissive. When I asked for her professional recommendation on implant sizing, she said, "I don't know, I'm not going home with them." Despite that red flag, I proceeded.
Dr. Robey wasn't present at my pre-op appt either.
At that appointment, my bank declined the large debit transaction, so we drove directly to our bank, withdrew cash, and brought it straight back to her office. Four days later, I was told $600 was counterfeit and that I had to replace it or my surgery would be canceled. So, I paid.
Jamie (front desk) said my bank would reimburse me, but it didn't. My bank explained its currency-checking process and said they guarantee all of the bills.
Jamie said the bills were sent to the Secret Service, but despite my requests, I never received a case number or documentation. That $600 remains unresolved.
I STILL went through with surgery.
Before surgery, my breasts appeared symmetrical. Immediately afterward, my left implant sat noticeably higher than my right. At two weeks, I was instructed to wear a compression band 24/7 to help it drop. I wore that band for FIVE MONTHS, after that I went mainly at night. My implant was still high.
At my eight-month follow-up, I felt my concerns were dismissed and that I was being blamed for reducing band wear.
Dr. Robey offered three options: pay $3-4K another surgery to "pull it down", wear the band another FOUR months, or do nothing.
She said my results would continue to look worse if I did nothing. She was right on this one.
I sought another opinion from a BCPS, who identified lateral displacement and an under-dissected left implant pocket--issues Dr. Robey had never explained to me. Also something the band would've never corrected.
Three days ago, I underwent revision surgery with another practice. My surgeon had to lower my left implant pocket THREE INCHES. That's a lot!!
I paid $11k for pocket reconstruction, new implants, and repositioning. Again, the band would've never corrected these issues.
I emailed Dr. Robey's practice repeatedly seeking answers and a resolution, but received little meaningful response. I also shared an update about my experience with a limited Instagram audience without naming her or the practice. I later discovered the practice had blocked me on Instagram. As a paying patient trying to get answers, that was incredibly disappointing.
I've now fully shared my experience, and others have contacted me about their own negative experiences here.
I understand cosmetic surgery doesn't guarantee perfection. But patients deserve transparency, honest communication, and genuine concern when something isn't right. I went into surgery hoping to feel more confident.
Instead, I spent nearly a year with visible asymmetry, followed medical instructions for months, and paid for another major surgery, while lacking confidence in my appearance.
My biggest disappointment isn't simply the result. It's that I trusted the guidance I was given while an underlying pocket issue went unexplained. I didn't expect perfection. I expected to feel heard, informed, and cared for. I wish I had trusted my instincts from the beginning.
Dont make the same mistake I did!
