i've been taking my husband's slacks and shirts to the store on taylor ave for a few months. but, a couple of weeks ago, i picked up two pair of slacks to take on vacation, and i was very surprised when my husband took one pair to put on. the pants were just as dirty as when i had dropped them off at the store. we were both very angry. there was ice cream spilled on the them and the stain was stil on them after i had paid and picked them up. the pants had not been laundered, only pressed. whats wrong with their process? the employees must be cutting corners in order to keep up the extreme amount of business at this store. i still have the ticket with the name, etc. now im hesitant to take more clothes to zips, even though it does save me a lot of money. read more

THIS CLEANERS WILL RUIN YOUR CLOTHING! Yelp really needs to allow for 0 star rating. I took my pleated skirt to be cleaned, and when I picked it up there was not one pleat in the skirt and it was more wrinkled than when I dropped it off. I complained and asked for a manager and the associate that came to register was obviously not the manger, I did not find this out until later. I complained that my skirt was pleated when I brought it to them and it either needed to be fixed and returned to me in the same condition or replaced. The "manager" agreed they would try to fix it. I came back a few days later and the skirt was not ready. Finally, I sent my gf to pick up the skirt and she is given the skirt, again without a pleat in sight and pretty much told that if the pleats were meant to stay in the skirt they would have, and that its not ZIPs fault; take it up with the manufacturer. She was given some bs print out from the internet as justification. TWO BIG PROBLEMS: 1. I've owned this skirt for over a year and this would have been the second time I've had it dry cleaned, but this is the first time it was returned to me completely ruined. 2. I asked to speak with a manager the very first time I noticed it had been ruined. If it was not able to be fixed then that should have been communicated up front. Instead of trying to build some bs case as to why it's not ZIP's fault. I of course, asked again to speak with a manager and was connected with Michelle. I requested that my skirt be replaced/ I be compensated for the cost of the skirt since her store completely ruined the skirt. She refused stating they did nothing wrong. Throughout the course of our conversation, I found Michelle to be condescending and dismissive. I asked to speak with her supervisor to which she responded; " You are not speaking to anyone else!" I have since called corporate twice and received no response. I will NEVER give this Zips, nor any another penny. I do not know if they are worthy of any star. But I am not happy with the service received. Yesterday I dropped off my husband's suit and shirt to be cleaned and pressed. His shirt was suppose to have light starch to the collar and sleeve. The sleeve was barely pressed having wrinkles all under the underarm area. I could have done it myself if this is what I paid for. This place is TERRIBLE. I hate having to go there but they are close and the price is nice. But their service? HORRIBLE. Today was an example of that. I am headed to a funeral and could not for the life of me find the pants that go to my suit jacket. At this point those are the only pants that fit comfortably because I haven't had to dress up since February--COVID and all. So I called and asked if they could check and see if my items were there. The young lady that picked up clearly had something better to do because she asked, "What do you mean?" I said that I cannot find some clothes that I normally wear and wanted her to check if they're there. Silence. "....so can I give you my number?" "Hold on....go ahead." Gave her my number. Almost immediately: "You don't have anything here." I gave her my other number. "Nothing here." I then drove to the store and gave the cashier my number. She pulls the very clothes I was missing from my closet. I wasted 30 minutes of my time looking all over the house for stuff that was there because she didn't FEEL LIKE checking for me! So I asked for the General Manager's number to log a complaint because I was sure that the manager was the one who had answered the phone in the first place. She confirmed this when I asked for the store's telephone number to verify I had called the correct location before mentioning my issue. I told her the story and sure enough she said, "Well your name is in the computer back there..." Yup. Either you put in the wrong number or you didn't feel like checking. She clearly had better things to do than help a 4 year plus customer over the phone. Didn't feel like a confrontation so I nodded, thanked the young cashier lady, and left. Zips is the only place I've ever taken my dry cleaning. Who would pay twice the money for the exact same service? I've never had any issues with the quality of the actual cleaning. The best thing about zips is the same day service. They'll even send you an email when the cleaning is done. They take credit cards now, so you don't have to come with cash in hard. The worst thing about it is the temperature in that place. It's nearly unbearable most times when they're running the equipment. I can't imagine how those people work in those conditions. If you can get past some discomfort, Zips will never let you down when it comes to dry cleaning. read more

I really wish I could give this place zero stars because one star indicates that I enjoyed part of the experience or liked the business enough. I recently dropped off 3 pair of dress pants, 2 dresses and 5 blouses on Saturday afternoon. I waited to drop them off because the morning traffic can be heavy with people wanting their items that same day. I knew I wouldn't need my clothes until Monday evening so Saturday afternoon seemed an ideal off time. As soon as I walked in there was an overwhelming stench of what I thought was terrible body odor. I thought maybe the person who walked out has horrendous B O; so bad that I could smell it through my mask. I picked my clothing up Monday evening l, made sure all my items were accounted for and took my clothes home. Tuesday morning I took out a blouse for work and every one of my blouses smells like that horrendous body odor. I was so mortified I almost vomited. It smelled like musty underarm. I had to take all my clothing to another cleaners, paid much more and hopefully the smell will be gone when I pick them up tomorrow. Whatever spray they are using or if they aren't cleaning the irons, something else needs to be done. I paid $24 to have them soil my clothing. The part that makes me really upset is that I hand washed and line dried all of my blouses before sending them to basically be pressed (they really aren't cleaning anything) and they came back dirty. Our clothes are properly and professionally cleaned in a timely fashion and the service is friendly. The prices are significantly lower than what we were paying elsewhere. Worthless. Dropped off two items - a khaki blazer and a black pencil skirt a few days ago. The skirt still has the exact same stain on it (and safety pin marks where they pinned it to a hanger!) and the blazer just clearly has not been cleaned. It smells like a gym locker room, which I know it didn't smell like when I dropped it off. I suppose the red flag when I walked in should have been the fact that a customer was arguing with an employee about the fact his clothes came back to him in poor condition and it was very clear the employee couldn't have cared any less. I wish I could give this place 0 stars! I dropped off and picked up 4x coats, but, upon getting home; I noticed ALL were still dirty, and no hint of actual cleaning being done ! Do not take your clothes here. Mine came back damaged and uncleaned. Shocking to see how they would return the clothes to me. They told me to bring all of the clothes back with the tags still on ( I took them off when unpacking the clothes.) I am a recent new customer of this ZIPS location after moving to the area. I started taking my clothes to them on a weekly basis and at first things were going well. When I took a Black winter jacket to them to dry clean they attempted to return the coat to me completely damaged. This was March 21. I filed a claim and was told that the owners had to do the work to research the item and sign for re-imbursement. The claim form says it could take up to 4 weeks to get a resolution. It is now April 20 and I still have not heard anything from ZIPS. On the three occasions when I either went by the location or called I was told that the Owners still had not taken action on my claim. I attempted to contact the corporate offices through their website and have not heard back from them either. Well, a day or two after this review I heard from ZIPS that my coat was ready for pickup - it had be salvaged and they were able to reverse the damages. I was shocked and skeptical, but pleased to hear this. They apologized for the length of time it took to respond to my claim, and when I picked up the coat, it was fine. Not exactly one hundred percent but that, I don't believe it their fault. The manufacturer put an incorrect care label on the item. So, in the end, ZIPS came through. I would like to hope that my initially negative review was not what prompted them to actually act on my claim. Nevertheless, thanks. Now to deal with the store who sold me the faulty coat in the first place. read more

They did it wrong. Probably because "Krystal" didn't seem to care very much. I told them they were wrong when I picked them up, and the said they would fix them for free(and clean the starch stains they left on them) great right? Well.... Once again.... They did it wrong. This is a fine place for regular non- speciality type items. It is the least expensive dry cleaner in the area with quick turnaround. If you have items that need special attention, this is NOT the place. In addition, corporate customer service from ZIPS is non existent. I emailed customer service at ZIPS regarding 2 items I dropped off to be cleaned at this Towson location. Never received a reply, nothing. One jacket I dropped off for cleaning came back just as wrinkled, if not more wrinkled than it was left originally. The 2nd item was also a jacket where I marked with tape and pointed out when I dropped off, a stain that needed attention. It was returned in the same condition as I left it. I pointed the stain out to the person at the register and was offered the chance to have it cleaned again with no guarantee. This was a jacket that I was planning to wear to an interview and did not have the time the wait another day. Took both jackets to another dry cleaner and 1st jacket was pressed, no wrinkles and 2nd jacket had no stain, they removed the stain. What was most disappointing was the lack of acknowledgement or any reply after I emailed using the customer contact form from the corporate ZIPS website. Guess customer service is not their "thing". HOLY SH%&%! I have been to other Zips with not a lot of problems, but this Zips destroyed every single piece of clothing I brought in. It looks like they spilled Kool-aid all over my white skirt, but I'm assuming they cleaned it with something red, which bled all over my skirt. The black trim on my suit is now gray. The rayon dress that was crisp and bright now looks like someone threw it in a washing machine, faded and worn looking. However, they made sure to cover everything in lint, dog hair, human hair, creases, wrinkles and the wreaking stench of dry cleaning fluid. I almost gave them my favorite rayon skirt. I took a $350 Burberry shirt that I just purchased from Nordstroms to get pressed only and to come back to pick it up several times which it wasn't ready the 1st or 2nd day lead me to believe there was something wrong or they lost my shirt or the other items. I finally received my shirt on 6/1/15 to find it destroyed with some type of stain spots all over it. And the plastic that was inside the shirt to be burned and stuck to the shirt. I asked immediately to speak to the manager and Jene Cortez came out with the most nastiest attitude and she argued me down about it not being their fault. She never let me finish saying what I was saying. It became a argument battle between the both of us. She said I will redo it to see what I can do and I asked what if u can fix it she said, "oh well"!!! Wtf .. I never heard or seen a manger act this way in my life. Well finally I got in touch with the store manager Andrea she said she will clean it and I have to leave work tho to come back and sign a receipt something that Jene should of had me do in the first place instead of dismissing me. Even her employees agreed 100% that the plastic was burned from the steamer and destroyed my shirt. I'm really afraid to even let them try again. I have called customer service I still have not received a call. At the end of the day I guess u get what u pay for so sad ! They said they might be able to correct them, I came back they had written all over my white garmet in pen. They also ruined a very nice polo shirt. The clothing they ruined has a value of around 180.00. They changed my white garmet to a dingy grey, that was done by them not changing they chemicals and the same discoloration was on the polo shirt. When you walk in, the place is absolutely electric with activity. People going back and forth about the place, ironing, folding, sorting, and hanging. I like that the place has a 'nothing to hide' sort of vibe. The cleaning prices are quite fair, and my clothes have always come back looking top notch. Just FYI: There is a $10 minimum for credit card charges, and your order has to be prepaid.
