I told them the situation and they took me right away. The communicated what they thought was the issue and told me the best and worst case scenarios based on what they saw. The backstory here is I was getting my oil changed a couple of months back. The Goodwrench auto shop said my back brakes were getting low and if I didn't get the brakes replaced soon I would wear through the pads and do more damaged than I wanted to. So naturally I asked around and got reccomended to Sunset Auto. Dropped my car off in the AM, got a call mid day letting me know my brakes were just fine. He said they were far from replacement and I had nothing to worry about. Picked my car up expecting to pay a good service fee for them taking a look at the car...the fee was a lot less than I had expected. Good, hardworking, honest people. You can't ask for much more when you entrust someone to take care of your multi-thousand dollar investment. He could have gone ahead and replaced the brakes like I had asked him to. But he took a look at everything and gave me a straight answer. All my car repairs will now go to Sunset.

He had issues with it and took it back several times to get it fixed for several different issues. Not only did he charge to fix it but everything he said they fixed was not fixed at all. Was told he got a new ac compressor and lines put in so the ac would work and guess what that quit working. We told them the back tires were wearing out on the outside edge and that it needed an alignment and new tires. so he did put new tires on the back and said he did an alignment and wouldn't you know it happened again a few months later so that means he didn't do an alignment at all and charged him for it. And the reason he took it to him was bc it's AWD and it being so bad out of alignment when it goes over snow only the car feels like it's a damn boat on the water so it was very dangerous. And again remember this is a 16 year old kid that was supposed to be very close to them. I've seen the shady work they do on cars. I recently called for a quote for a catylitic converter replacement. I found Gaspers to be the…read moremost reasonable, so I made an appointment. I had informed the owner that I had recently taken my van to AutoZone, for a diagnostic, and I needed the converter replaced. Gaspers told me it was only an 02 sensor, and nothing more. He did the work for me. My check engine light came back on, and I took it back. I was told that it was now the catalytic converter. I was told that the codes change, and it didnt show up the first time. I called around to some other mechanics, and took it to Autozone for another diagnostic. I was told by all, that the code would have showed up regardless if the sensor was also bad. I called Gaspers to see if he would make it right, and he refused. Said he didnt care what other diagnostics were, because his didnt show that. This is highly unprofessional, especially when there is a pandemic going on in the world! I am not going to allow for a business to nickle and dime me, as I can clearly see, Gaspers must do. I do Not recommend this business to anyone!
