I have to give the 125 Tunnel Road location 5 stars. I so want to give a big hug to one of the guys that work there, not sure of his name, he is a shorter guy with a beard The people who work there really do their best to keep the check-in lane moving as fast as possible and get cars into the car wash quickly. I have a membership, so I use the membership lane, but sometimes people get in that lane when there is an issue with their account, a payment problem, or something else holding things up. When that happens, the line can back up, but I have noticed the employees do their best to fix the problem as quickly as they can. One time, I was behind a customer who was having an issue, and the attendant politely asked if they would mind going around to the non-members lane so they could help fix the issue without holding up the membership line. The customer did not seem happy, but the employee still kept a smile and did not act rude in any way. I also want to say that this location seems short-staffed. The same person who was working check-in was also inside, and later that same person helped me when I asked for new towels. Even with all that going on, they were still trying to help everyone and keep things moving. Overall, I appreciate the hard work at this location. They deserve the 5 stars. read more

Would never be a member here if Zips wasn't a car wash monopoly in Asheville. Total ripoff and horribly owned. Zips: replace your towels and get a dryer for them, they are pure mildew and mold at every location. Add a spray station for rubber mats, and make the bathrooms not absolutely atrocious. I WISH so badly a new car wash would open on Tunnel Road or north Asheville that has vacuums, because Zips has been horrible for years, and the only reason they're still in business is because they are literally a monopoly. To the owners: you need to stop building new locations and put money into the poorly managed locations you have now. read more

Member only lane is NEVER open! They also never prewash like some other locations. Go to Zips in west Ashe or east Ashe by VA where MO lane is almost always open. read more

I got a new Suburu recently and figured i need to keep it clean so I got a membership to Zips. So glad I did. I swing by any zips and run through the car wash. It does a great job! Two stars because I can wash my car any time. But they often have only one lane open and is someone in front of you is buying a membership it takes FOREVER. It's ridiculous. There are two lanes and they just let a line of ten cars, backed up to the road, just sit there while they take 20 minutes to sign up a new member. read more

App doesn't work on iPad, iPhone, Android, or desktop website login. App froze up when attempting to add new bank card, crashed and went away. Nobody answers the telephone, but when the do, they can't do anything because they can't take card information over the phone. They also tell you to go to the location where you first purchased your membership, so I did that and the attendant told me that his card machine was not working, which I don't doubt because nothing except for the car wash itself works. Went this morning for a wash in east Asheville , its now 18.00 , unless your fool enough to get the 12.50 per month wash club, I was told its almost impossible to get them to quit putting it on your credit card once you join. As I understand it , A Texas company bought it. On top of that the car did not come out clean and they will not run it through again unless you buy the high dollar wash...Find another car wash , I'm sure there is a better one near by. read more

Organized and automated car wash with free vacuums. It is a simple process. Pull up to the touch screen and decide how much you want to spend today with the bottom at $7 for wash and dry. The machine accepts coupons, cards and cash. Allow your car to go through the tunnel and get buffed and blown, then pull around to the vacuums. Unlimited vacuums but you may find that they suck. Or like today, they didn't suck very well. Vacuuming wasn't the main reason for my visit so that was not a major concern for me. Total garbage. Male worker was asleep at the desk when I tried to go through. Nothing was running, vacuums were stopped and cleaning supplies was put away before closing hours. Employee refused to give a drying towel after going through. Car wash itself going through was one of the worst. Car still very dirty. Probably the worst carwash in Asheville. The equipment is usually broken so you do not get the full value of the wash. If you are dissatisfied the attendants direct you to the website that is unresponsive. Save your money and drive a dirty car. read more

This zips is not at the level of quality of the other zips in town. Though your car comes of clean the parking lot is always filthy, trash cans overflowing and there are never enough bays open. The staff never comes out to check on patrons and there's an overall sketchy vibe. Save your money and go to any of the other zips locations in Asheville. read more

The belt your car rides on goes too fast, leaving the car unclean. Yes, they generally let you pass through a second time, but takes effort and frustration. Vacuums are fair, could be stronger for cleaning. Membership?? Try to cancel and the aggravation begins. I ended up reporting to Amex to stop the membership due to Zips customer service giving me lip service it would be taken care of and a confirmation email would be sent from Zips affirming the canceled membership. Didn't happen, so escalated to the next level with my credit card company to complete what should have been a simple cancellation. read more

My first time in resulted in $600 damage to my van. Four trip back to the location and several phone calls and emails to get a response to my claim. My claim was denied because I should have been aware that it is not a brushless car wash (so I should have expected damage?) and they do not cover vehicles over 7 years old. After the wash my car looked exactly the same!! when i used the vacuums it wouldn't even suck up small crumbs, even though it was working. Whatever you do, do NOT use ZIP's carwash, I purchased a new vehicle, had it exactly 2 weeks and 2 days, took it through ZIPs on Tunnel Road, they damaged my new BMW, refused to pay to have it fixed, even though they have cameras from every angle to prove my car was in perfect condition before entering the car wash, they refused to pay for my repair. I even contacted the CEO, Gene Dickens several times by email, and he did not have the decency to even respond back to my emails. When I drove up to the gate a zips employee came up and clicked on the wrong car wash resulting in me being charged 25 dollars for a basic wash. He told me to go through the wash and then come by the office and he would take care of the mistake. I did what he said and then a different employee said there was nothing they could do and to 'contact corporate'. I did that and 'corporate' told me that because I got a wash there was nothing they could do. Specifically said: "Thank you for contacting us! Unfortunately, I am unable to issue a refund due to the usage of the wash. If you have any further questions please contact us!" MAYBE if I had made the mistake I would understand. Once you get started on a membership you cannot get it to stop. They will keep billing you even if you sell your car. They have proof that I called yet still billed for 3 more months at $40. Be careful if you get a membership. Watch what they bill you if you need to stop. read more

first, I ordered a car wash online, basic pro, and received a notice that my payment has been received and I would be getting an email confirmation and code shortly. After 20 minutes, and arriving at the car wash on Tunnel Road, I had still not received a receipt or the code to get my car wash. After speaking with Adan on a " Chat" for 15 minutes I finally received a code to get in to the car wash. I should have saved my time and the $23 that I was charged because that was the worst car wash I have ever had! The tires and rims were still filthy, there were bugs on the bumper, windshield, and headlights. There was also dirt along both sides of the car below the doors. I will never get my car washed again by that company and you should avoid them at all cost because you would just be wasting your money.!! read more

I just had a most amazing customer service experience at Zips! My car was covered with detritus from a shedding Crate Myrtle tree. It had been on there for 24 hours, but it had occurred to me that if I didn't get it off pretty quickly, it was going to damage my paint job. So I pulled into Zips. While I was fumbling for a credit card, Buddy the manager came sprinting out to tell me that these blossoms wouldn't come off with an ordinary wash. For free, they had a bug solution in buckets, and he would show me where it was. Which he did... sprinting around while I drove. Then he wanted to make sure I got a good result, so he upgraded me from the basic wash to the top notch one. What a sweet guy! Totally taking his job seriously. And all with such great personality. It might be worth a mention that I'm no cute young thing... Almost 60 years old, so it had nothing to do with that. Just a great manager doing a great job of customer service.
