First off, this is a review of the Zipps at 3001 N Frazier in Conroe, not the Zipps Liquor chain of stores as a whole.
To the best of my knowledge each store is individually owned, like fast food restaurants.
And the husband & wife team that own this particular Zipps are just rude. I don't know if they're rude to everybody, but they certainly are to me.
Now to be fair, I am rather scruffy looking. I know that. (Tattoo's, leather jacket) But that shouldn't matter. I just bought a house around the corner from this store in August 2018. (I could walk there in 5 minutes)
And ever since I moved in I have gone into their store at LEAST once a week. Made a purchase of at LEAST $30 each time.
But every time I went in, this is what happened...
I walk thru the door and wave at whoever is sitting behind the register (sometimes the husband, sometimes the wife) and I always say "Hi"
They just stare at me without saying anything.
I pick out my items and go to the register.
They don't even make eye contact with me.
They don't speak to me. (even if I ask them "how's your day going?")
They ring up my items, bag them, then shove them across the counter to me and turn their backs on me without saying a word.
And I always say something along the line of, "thanks" or "see you next time"
No response from them...ever.
Now once a week, every week since August, is at least 26 times that I've been in there. Enough for them to recognize me as a 'regular'.
I know they speak English because I've heard them talk to several other customers (I've even heard them greet people as they come into the store...just not me)
I don't know why they have decided to ignore me, but I do know that the folks at H & S Liquor at 1900 n Frazier always show common courtesy to EVERYONE. So, even though it's out of my way, I now go to H & S.
Now, if you don't mind making rude people rich at your expense, feel free to stop there.
But I believe that bad service & rude treatment of a customer is the very definition of a store to avoid. read more
