Was in the area, and wanted something fresh & healthy. After reading some reviews, I decided to try Zion. Some reviews mention the staff having some "attitude" or being rude. I didn't experience that. The person making the smoothies wasn't the cheeriest person I ever met; they took my order and made my juice. Totally normal to me. I don't need a parade, or fancy treatment for a juice or smoothie. The only thing that matters to me is the quality of the product... And it was very good! I got one of their detox juices, and while I couldn't inspect every fruit or vegetable to see if they were organic, they certainly didn't seem frozen. I tasted the fresh ginger, apple, lemon, and wheat grass. It was very fresh, and tasted great. The shop itself was small, and seemed very clean. Unfortunately there was no restroom in there, but that's to be expected with such a small place. Needed a smoothie kick so decided to stop at Zion Organic Roots since I was in the neighborhood. I have been driving for years on Hollis avenue, never new this place existed. It's always nice to patronize black owned businesses in the area. I ordered a Banana Nut smoothie, very tasty, refreshing and delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. A friend who lives nearby recommended Zion to me when I began to get ill and started demonstrating flu like symptoms. Within a couple of days I had completely lost my voice as in not a single word coming out. As a teacher I couldn't go to work since I couldn't speak . Went to the dr and completed antibiotics and still was feeling horrible and my voice hadn't returned. Went to Zion and wrote a text out on my phone and showed it to Angelica and she reassured me she knew exactly what I needed. She recommended the Cold Reliever and the "Flu Shot". I got a 20 oz of the Cold Reliever ($7). That has kale, celery, apple and orange. So refreshing! The "flu shots" has echinacea, honey, garlic and cayenne pepper. The smell is quite potent but the actual shot was not a challenge in terms of taste and it just felt like once you swallowed it you knew it would work. As recommended I rested right after. It made me sweat like crazy but literally the next day I felt much better and I could speak. Just like that. I had purchased enough of the shots to keep taking two a day and my voice returned to the point where I could whisper. By Monday (another 2 days) I could speak enough to return to work. Huge thank you to Angelica for her expertise. This establishment reaffirmed that we ought to be using natural products for healing as opposed to running to the dr and that it's about how we sustain our bodies on a regular basis. Their smoothies are good and healthy, however the workers here are disgusting. No customer service what so ever. If it wasn't for loyal customers like us, you wouldn't be in business. It's sad that you want to support black businesses and the community, but you have to deal with the nasty attitude. Life is too short to be nasty. This juice bar definitely knows what they're doing. I stopped here a week ago after meeting with a client. I tried their signature ginger lemonade, which tastes amazing! I also tried their "Fatigue Remedy" which definitely did the trick after a long day. I came back today to try a Wellness Juice and got "The Mint Sprint". I never thought a mixture of spinach, kale, pineapple, mint and apple would taste so good! I am very pleased thus far. The decor is cute and atmosphere is very welcoming. TERRIBLE service always rude and don't ask for anything extra they'll roll your eyes suck their teeth. I use to love this place until I found out why all there food is frozen because it's never fresh. They use frozen fruit to make your drinks and it's not even organic. The smoothies are good but the service is so bad. The workers are always rude for no reason. They look like they are angry when they come in. The cashier got an attitude because I asked for a blueberry banana smoothie instead of blueberry. It's the same thing. That was so weird. If you like don't hostile environments don't come here. Agree with another commenter, the girls here could be nicer. Eventually I was able to get her to smile. I dont love mango, not sure why I got a smoothie with mango, it was not bad tho. Go price. Also had a ginger shot with lemon. Enjoyed that too. 4 minutes from home, i will go back. read more

I would give this place 5 stars because the smoothies are GREAT especially for the community. However, the customer service is awful. The ladies here don't greet you, don't say hello when you come in, always appear to have attitudes, and are overall NOT friendly... It's to the point, that i hate spending my money here simply because of the customer service. Like if you don't like your job, get another one.. I love supporting my black owned businesses, but come on... The customer service is what keeps me coming back... All but one is friendly. The two lighter skinned young ladies act as if they hate customers... Like the customers are the reason you have a Job... SMILE... Been coming to this place for a while probably since they opened. Yes as stated below the ladies can have a bit of an attitude, however they get the job DONE. Anytime I'm sick they hook me up. I even get a few hi and bye now. But they do what they have to do. Just get your juice and go because you won't find another REAL organic spot like this! read more

Unless you like receiving dirty looks and being yelled at, run away !! If I could give 0 reviews for this place trust me I would !! The customer service is absolutely nonexistent. The cashier gave me the most disgusting look as I tried to pay partially, she rudely said "we don't do it like that here "I said OK, you don't have to speak to me so rudely I'll just use my card. She then went off on a tangent, about how Americans are rude, and continuously kept speaking over me as I repeated that you can have a nicer tone when speaking to people. It's not my fault that you hate your job. If I'm spending my money here, why am I getting spoken to like a random person on the street? 745am on my way to work , in search of breakfast. Stopped at Zion juices the young lady saw me attempting to enter and buzzed me in even though they weren't officially open! Made me a drink with the best customer service ever. The place was clean neat and decorated beautifully. Business go broke from the inside out and never from the outside in ! I live not too far from here and never realized this place sold juices and smoothies. Went in the other day and you could tell the place is very clean, prices for the quality of the drinks aren't too bad.
