It doesn't hurt, right. She went to ask the grill guy and he said I already put the chicken on the grill. So you telling me my sandwich isn't made yet and you have the chance to give me breaded chicken but won't because the chicken is already on the grill. I forgot to mention the grilled chicken is already grilled it's not like I'm getting a raw piece of chicken. But okay. Sandwich is okay grilled. Nothing to rave about. Maybe I'm a little salty because I didn't get what I wanted. Or maybe the chicken needed salt. lol. But after eating the sandwich or half of it, maybe it was a good idea that I got it grilled. I don't really write reviews but after today I honestly wouldn't come here unless it's the only option and I needed to buy one or two quick things. I usually come here and the cashiers are always different every time. They're usually chill but today I walked in to buy a few things and after like 5 minutes it was so obvious that they assumed i'd steal or take something as I noticed the same owner or worker whoever, be near every vicinity of the store I went. Whoever was at the register one of the younger girls looked like she didn't want to be there either and looked like she wanted me to leave as fast as possible. I don't expect everyone at a store to be friendly but these are people purchasing from your store at least act like you show some respect to your customers. Today is my last time visiting this place. I have been shopping there at least once a week for the past year. 60% of the time I go there, I am followed. Today was the final straw. An employee of the store stood 5 feet away from me just watching me browse through the spices. I can't tell you how many times I've been looking at something on the shelf and when I look up a worker is standing at the beginning of the aisle, looking at me. They make me feel so uneasy. I've been coming here for years. It is a pretty pricy grocery store but they do have decent organic options in a neighborhood that is bleak in that department. There is the health emporium but that's not not walking distance for me. I generally come here for small groceries such as my nut milks or snacks and ice cream etc. This is super convenient for me when I can't go to Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. Onto their sandwiches. Their sandwiches are decent but their service can be pretty slow depending on the time of day. Especially when you're in a rush this isn't the best place to order a quick sandwich. Fresh Meadows Natural has been open for two whole days, and I've been there twice. It is a new oasis for grocery shopping in this part of Queens. It is clean, extremely well organized, and full of all my favorite foods and drinks. This place basically has everything, if you're looking for mostly natural and organic produce and products. Surprisingly, they have every single flavor of every single product of quite a few brands. Here's just a brief sample of the many goodies I saw: two freezers full of Annie's meals and veggie burgers, several shelves full of Yogi Tea, a shelf dedicated to chocolate bars, basically all the kombucha you could ask for, all the Ciao Bella you could want (and Steve's and Ben and Jerry's to boot), plenty of organic/vegan/gluten free baked goodies and snacks, plenty of Larabars, and a deli with breakfast sandwiches (I can't wait to grab a bacon, egg, and cheese on the way to the bus!). Oh, and there is an excellent beer selection. The best one I've seen in Fresh Meadows thus far. Additionally, the staff is friendly and helpful, and everything is reasonably priced. I didn't see a single product that cost more than it would at Whole Foods. Most of the stuff was the same, or a little bit less. So go here! It's amazing. read more

This place was okay when it first opened. I'm not sure if it's that they don't have enough customers or they just don't care anymore. I've recently come across lots of rotten produce in store and have even bought a few items that immediately went bad once I brought them home. Their flowers are an absolute joke. I purchased some this morning and by midday they were already dead. I'm not going to bother with this store anymore .............. Pros: good selection of organic products and natural items you can't find in the neighborhood. Most of the staff are helpful and friendly. Good beer selection. Cons: management of the deli counter is atrocious!!!!! I barely order anything from the counter because it takes so long. Expect to wait ten minutes or more for cold cuts or a sandwich and if you come in on a weekend the wait might be longer. The deli counter is a living nightmare. read more

Open 24/7! Yes! The place is spacious and very clean -- they specialize in organic so while there are "regular" groceries, the selection is not wide. The Deli section is great and also open 24 hours (grill is closed from 3-5am though) but the sandwiches are pricey. I'm deducting one star since while their beer selection is great (many craft ales) the restock inventory is not good - I'll grab a pack and come back later in the week and they're all gone. It takes them a while to restock. Other than that, great place! read more

However, due to convenience, this is my "emergency go-to" for things like organic carrots, apples, sweet potatoes, and pears. The grill also appears to operate 24 hours and I tried the BLT this morning and found it quite satisfying. I will ask my wife whether she liked her Fresh Meadows on a roll. Looked interesting! There are other items like "healthy" chips and "healthy" crackers. I don't believe the hype for a second. These items are relatively expensive, packaged in a tiny manner in terms of volume (with a big box to boot), and many of them are just as addictive. I will likely come back anyway, though, because the space usually appears relatively well-stocked and clean. read more

The neighborhood doesn't have many grocery stores like this. The thing that stands out to me is the beer aisle. They got a pretty good selection of craft brews that I don't find anywhere in Eastern Queens. My issues with this place is that things can be more expensive for no reason. For example, why does sriracha need to be about 80 cents more expensive than in regular grocery stores? Other than that, the fact that it's 24 hours is pretty convenient. read more

The prices here are a little steep but well, you're paying for convenience. Parking in front can be tough but no worry, you'll find plenty of space in the back parking lot. I am a fairly loyal customer to this place. I stop in every time I frequent the Citibank, rite aid or nail salon. I buy food, flowers, groceries, you name it. However as of today they have lost one. LOST. I'm used to the constant markups, today was the limit. I ordered a breakfast sandwich that should have cost 3.25 asked what were the bread options and selected one. Got to the counter to have to pay over $6. I said to the cashier, I think it's 3.25. She calls the guy at the grill over and he rudely dismisses me saying the roll I picked was 1.50 extra. A) you should have told me that when I asked what was included B) Don't ever speak to anyone like that, much less a customer C) In good faith you could have honored the price knowing you were being dishonest. To be clear it was the guy taking the orders (maybe Filipino?) not the guy doing the cooking. This is not the first instance of rude dismissiveness in this place, but it will be the last. Not a busy Sunday about 2:30 pm in this establishment, maybe other 5 people around in the whole place, no customers at the sandwich-prep station though, only me waiting to be noticed by any of the 2 guys on the other side of the counter. At my third "Hi!" I finally get one of the guys who turns to me, leans over the counter holding a pen and a pad to take my order, his literal words: "talk to me, dog". Exactly, shocking! Where did that come from? I have no idea. My tone saying "Hi" to get their attention wasn't rude, so it didn't come from anything that I personally did to the guy as that was our whole interaction so far. When I told him that he should be careful on how he talks to customers, considering that it might have been an [accident], he said "I was talking about the football match" (the one he was watching on a smart phone as he was taking my order). I asked him "What does - talk to me, dog - have to do with the football game" he just remained silent. There has been one more incident with another employee in the past months, which I won't detail because it wasn't worse than the most recent event, but it confirms the culture of this place, that and the fact that management did not respond to the email I sent letting them know about the situation. I've been coming to this store for a year, about twice per week since I moved to the neighborhood, and noticed what other customers have written on previous reviews, some of the staff have an anti-customer attitude. It's not just that they don't want to deal with you but they are proactive at showing it. For this behavior to be so evident among the workers there, the philosophy must come from above. Most likely the manager himself, who in the two occasions of an incident wasn't around, promotes the wrong notion of that customers are too demanding or 'they need us more than we need them", so you can disrespect them at no risk. They are overlooking the concept and relevance to a business of something called CUSTOMER SERVICE. Google it, David (they provided me with the manager's name). I'd like to see what happens to this business when a competitor opens its doors in the area, not even that, FreshDirect and AmazonNow have amazing options for customers that already pay the price at this spot. I've been coming here for years & I love this deli. The food is great. I come her for there sandwiches & wraps. But for the past year, every single time I come the guy that makes the sandwiches is on break. I find it so bizarre that I have come here the last couple of times and at different times & he's always on break. What I do not understand is how someone can go on break & nobody is covering him. So customers have to wait 30 minutes to make an order. So what happens when the cashier is on break? Do we have to wait 30 minutes to pay for our groceries? Another thing I find absolutely ridiculous was that the cashier who told us the sandwich guy was on break has made sandwiches for us in the past. & because there was not another soul in the store at the time , I told him "you make good sandwiches too!" He gave me a very sarcastic smile & a thank you. We ended up grabbing something else from the store but in the time we were there the guy was just standing there doing absolutely NOTHING! How is this acceptable?! This is not how you run a business! If someone is on break , another should be covering! Especially if the store is EMPTY ! This guy was just standing there ! Unacceptable!! Enter front or from big parking lot in the rear. Balanced selection of prepared foods, salads, wraps, desserts, produce, sandwich counter, loads of beverages, dairy and non-dairy and organic foods. Fresh flowers for a thoughtful gift or to brighten your own home. Post Note: The comments about prices make me "laugh". This isn't the store where most people will shop for their whole week's groceries. It's the local store where you drop in for a few items. To compare a small private store to Fairway and Trader Joes (neither of which are close-by) is like comparing a local store to WalMart. If we lose this store, we lose a valuable small business in our neighborhood. This is a great place and we're fortunate to have it. There's a parking lot behind the market with plenty of spots that leads to the back entrance. The place is kept very clean and organized. There is a good selection of drinks, beers (some hard-to-find ones), snacks, dairy products, etc. Prices here are a little on the higher side, but the convenience and location makes it well-worth it for people like me who live in the neighborhood. I haven't had their deli sandwiches yet, but my roommate says they are delicious. The employees don't look too friendly, but if you need help they'll be more than willing to offer their assistance. The price is pretty solid for what you'd normally pay for organic things.. they do have a parking lot too which is a plus. The great part about them is the deli section is open until late(2a.m) and they are just big fat stacked sandwiches well worth the fair price.
