They were heartless and unprofessional. The most important things were their job stability and their publicity. At Earl Haig SS, when ESL students cried, teachers just walked past them. When a white girl cried, a teacher conforted her with a hot drink and snacks. It was painful to watch. Unprofessional English teachers teach Gr.12 English and told immigrant kids that they were hopeless. One of the kids has become a published author and recalls her tdsb experience like telling a joke. Our lives cannot be treated like jokes. Stay away from this corrupt place!

During the barbecue, a sausage had been dropped on the sandy floor. The female teacher, who was around 45 years old, announced volunteer to take that dirty sausage for bonus mark. (According to the year book, the name of this teacher was "R. Wadhera". Attachment is her photo.) Finally, she asked a female student as volunteer. Many schoolmates asked her not to fall on trap of this teacher. For unsure reason, this female student accepted the dirty sausage. As one of the schoolmates, I didn't do anything to stop her from falling on this trap. (Now, I feel very guilty and very regret. I find myself a accomplice who trample a pure, lovely, innocent, noble character and beautiful girl.) I believe the behavior of this villainous teacher, hurt many of the students who loved the girl who took that dirty sausage. Under the witness of God and Buddhas, whatever I write in here is the truth and real truth.

Thornhill Secondary School is located at Yonge and Clark. It's tucked away on a side street off of…read moreClark, which is a good thing that it is away from the main street (Yonge Street). Schools located on a main strip tend to cause a lot of traffic during rush hour and causes issues for everyone. I never personally went to this school, but I have visited for pick up basketball and currently go there for a Volleyball League. The gymnasium is a pretty decent size with a stage along the baseline. The floors are well maintained by the janitorial staff. Unfortunately people tend to ignore the rule of no outdoor shoes in the gym. As a result of that the floors get really dusty and you lose traction, especially in the winter time. Overall a good school from what I can see. Get those gym permits!! JimStar Out!!

When we started the school, our children did not even speak English, not to mention the lag in their overall development. We expected some progress, but what the teachers achieved exceeded all our expectations. They not only worked on our children's fine motor skills and behavior, but they managed to teach them letters, numbers, basic reading skills and mathematics - things that we thought would be possible much later in time. We are especially impressed that in I Am Smart S-Cool, in parallel with the therapeutic work, there is a lot of emphasis on academic learning. In many of the specialized schools that we had previously considered, the academic material was quite abbreviated (due to the reduced expectations for children with special educational needs). In I Am Smart S-Cool, however, the teachers are very dedicated, work with great patience and love, and manage to unleash the children's potential. The children feel the love and care, and this creates peace and security for them. Whenever a person enters the school, a calm working atmosphere is heard. We are very impressed by the principal and all the teachers and therapists at the school. By their hard work, their patience, their tireless care and professionalism in teaching. For all of them, this is not just a job, but a calling.

I'm still friends with some of the people I went to school with. The food is good but WAY over priced. I found it odd that there are certain times that male and females can visit each other on the floors but Ive soon come to realize that its a lot better than most other Christian post secondary schools. I was commuting to and from school and I could feel the "christian bubble" Love the events that are put together by the staff and students :)
