The Teachers on the other hand are very hit or miss. The good ones are very good, the bad ones are very bad. Both the Principal Jane Lee and one of the vice principals Annamaria Mazzaferro were caught taking photos of both Students and Parents for seemingly no reason. The school needs a new principal and one new vice principal to replace both Ms. Lee and Ms. Mazzaferro. The smaller class sizes make such a difference. The teachers truly know their students, and the additional support teachers are incredible. There is a level of attention, encouragement, and investment in each child that is becoming increasingly difficult to find. What I appreciate most is that the school combines genuine care with high expectations. Our children are loved and supported, but they are also challenged and held to a standard of excellence. They are being taught to work hard, grow in character, take responsibility, and become the best version of who God created them to be. The community is incredibly close-knit, and the events, performances, and school productions continually blow us away. The teachers at Oak Learners take the time to really get to know and understand their students. My daughter went from a struggling student whom felt so low about her abilities that she missed more school than she attended to a confident student who is so eager to attend school that she is disappointed when the school day end. Since starting at Oak Learners, my daughter is much more willing to take chances in learning (she went from to being a reluctant non-reader to an enthusiastic beginner reader who isn't shy any more to ask for help). The teachers are passionate about guiding students to learn and love the process of learning, their knowledge and experience are invaluable!

A teacher, Rory consistently singled me out in ways that felt unfair and humiliating. The leadership under the principal, Janice, only made things worse -- the administration fostered an environment that was punitive rather than supportive, and students like me were left feeling isolated and diminished. The impact of this experience has stayed with me long after, which says everything about the culture of this school. I would strongly warn families to reconsider before sending their children here.
