In fact, I've encouraged The Wife to visit friends I don't particularly care for just to eat here. It's on the botermarkt, which has a great market although the cafes there, I'm not so sure of yet. But I digress. The food is just amazing. I'd put it right up there with Mama in A'dam. I must be honest and admit I've never had anything other than their shoarma, but good god damn, why order anything else when the meat's this good? Succulent, tender and cooked up with just the right blend of spices. Don't be fooled by the apparent "small" servings; these are substantial broodje shoarmas. The people working there are friendly, and if you ask nicely they'll even give you the real hot sauce - not that cheap sambol crap - if you look like you can handle it. Their garlic sauce is good too, a little bit sweeter than most in my opinion, but I like that. Guaranteed to stave off hangovers, or, at least, not make you care that you are about to have one.

King Falafel Origineel
So I'm in Den Haag on a business trip and I try to not spend a furtune on a dinner. Being a picky…read morevegetarian who is trying to go vegan life becomes a bit harder when deciding what to eat. So today I felt like getting falafel. After looking around on the internet I realized that there wasn't that many falafel places close to my hotel. But there was this one. So I took a walk from my hotel on Parkstraat, which was about a 15 min walk to get to the King Falafel. The place is located just of the shopping streets and not crowded at all. It's your typical fast-foof-over-the-counter place, which can be both good and bad. The place is quite small and the only place to sit is by the counter and like one high table for two people in the back, so not a place to stay in and eat at. That didnt matter for me, since I was set on bringing my food back to the hotel. So the food. I went for falafel in a pita. And it was amazing! The falafel is made when you order them, not even pre "shaped", they will scoop them up and fry them when you order them. Real fresch! The pita was nothing special, its your regular pita, heated before you get it. When your falafel is fried and your pita is heatened, you get your falafel and you can put what ever salad you want for their salad bar. Eventhough its a self service saladbar, its fresh! Lots off different things and a few differet sauces aswell. I went for the tahini sauce which was really nice! My conclusion. One of the best falafels I've had and it only cost me €4,95 for a pita with 6-7 quite big falafel in it. Not five stars though, since the pita could have been better. So if you are in Den Haag and crave falafel, this is the place to go! And I would definitely go back.

I opted for a salad bowl, and it was pretty good. The veggies were fresh, sauces were flavorful, and the pickles added a nice touch. The falafel was fried to order so it had a nice crunch. All things considered, I would return for the price, convenience, and freshness, but I do wish the bowl was larger to fit more salad greens.
