The guy repairing his instrument to me very rudely go some where else. So I said no! Dude its the guitar center? And then Jerome who I'm sure planned all this now that he's manager and power then came over and told me to leave the store. I was kicked out of his store. His store? So anyway. I got in his face and cussed him out. Terrible man really pathetic! I've been going there 4 years since i moved here never no problems. So I realize by going to other guitar centers around Detroit Allen park is the worst customer service ever. Don't go there Jerome is a complete stuck up clown.

Guitar Center dominates new instrument sales, and smaller operations like A & R need to be there to provide service, lessons and repairs for those new buyers. The real advantage that A & R has is the terrific instructional and technical staff. My daughter has taken Tenor Sax and Guitar lessons there for several years. I cannot say enough good about Mike (Guitar), Terry (Sax), and Elane (Sax). Also, Timmy the instrument repair god is fast and cheap, and is really accommodating for emergency repairs. A & R is one of the very best of Downriver.

I called ahead to make sure my kids were going to be able to shop the store due to Covid. While on the phone I spoke to A.J. Extremely friendly and professional guy! I explained that my son was new to being a rock star, and wanted someone to show him how to re-string his guitar. AJ was more than happy to help. He was so friendly, both of my kids came home and told me how much they like the store, and how nice A.J. is. This is how businesses should treat their customers! That's why A&R has been around forever! If you have a potential rock star living amongst you, THIS is the place to take them!!

DLP is a quick and reliable music and repair shop. I called several other violin shops that were by…read moreappointment only and told me that it would take 3-4 days to re-string and polish my violin. I needed my violin ready by the weekend so 4 days was too long of a wait. DLP is open late until 8:00 - 8:30 PM on weekdays. Just call the shop and tell the owner what you need to be done and he is accommodating. I was able to get my violin back the next day. The prices are reasonable. I would return here for violin supplies like strings, rosin, and polish.

They happily took my $65 for an Amp repair deposit. No contact until i walked into shop 3 weeks…read morelater to find amp in same spot on shop (untouched). Complained that I should get my deposit back and take amp home, they committed to take amp back to "bench". Returned 1 week later to find amp still on bench - i believe untouched. I seriously doubt they have any competence for electronic instrument repair. I took my unrepaired amp back and took the $65 deposit loss (since technically they put my amp on the bench). Beware.
