The left hand wants lower action. The right wants tighter strings. Both my left and right hand will sleep well tonight instead of fighting each other. I gave him my budget guitar and a pack of the heaviest set ernie ball makes (12 gage mammoth) and asked for standard tuning. He set it up with action as low or lower than any guitar I've ever had, including a 9-gage strat setup that was done by a popular tech in grand rapids. No buzzing, perfect intonation. He even modded the nut but still only charged for a setup. I asked him if he would set up my ridiculous 8-string 27-30 fanned fret acoustic tuned DADADGBE. I found Jason on Google search and after reading the reviews I decided to give him a chance since I've had bad experiences with other big names shops. I took a bass and a guitar to be set up and to have them cleaned. I spent a long time in his shop just talking with him and learning more about my instruments that I didn't know. 2 days later they were done, played and looked great. He went above what I expected and the bill was less then I expected I recommend anyone that's in need of work to let Jason do it. I recently dropped off a bass to be restrung. Jason had to order me a second pair of strings but was extremely communicative with updates about the timing and cost, and when it was time for pick up he let me test it out and showed me around the shop a bit.
