Consider this one a must-try! Food was all very good. We tried the buffalo chicken eggrolls (2 full eggrolls, cut in half) which we really liked and they came out quickly. Next, we tried several tacos since it happened to be Taco Tuesday and we could try several kinds a la carte. My husband tried to Mongolian beef ,Jerk chicken and Surf and Turf. He LOVED the Mongolian beef, enjoyed the jerk chicken, and felt that the surf and turf was good but could be better if it had a sauce of some sort (I had this one too and agreed with him). In addition to those, I tried the Bacon Cheeseburger and Chicken tinga tacos and really enjoyed them both. Dessert was on another level though. We had the seasonal somoa churros which were crazy good. My husband also had the butterscotch creme brulee and loved that too. Our server and hostess was great, no issues at all there. They inquired about whether or not we had eaten there before and since we hadn't, a manager stopped by to ask about our experience, which we always appreciate. The ambiance was cool and my husband and I both commented that it had a really cool vibe inside. Very similar to Craft Street Kitchen (we learned that this restaurant is owned by the same people) which we have visited before and always really enjoy. They also mentioned that a new restaurant will be opening soon called Agave Social and we plan to try that one too. We will definitely be returning. We were very happy with the overall experience and the menu had lots of options that we're excited to try next time. I love this place. It's one of my favorites in the area. The food is a unique twist on California Mexican cuisine. Everything is delicious. The chicken avocado sun roll is an appetizer but it's big enough to serve as an entree. All of the tacos are good and you can't go wrong with any of them. They feature a pork belly chorizo with rice on special so try these when you can. My favorite dessert is the chocolate churros that they serve with a creamy mousse. The place is clean. Outdoor seating is avaliable. Parking can be a problem at times since they share a lot with Craft Street kitchen which is also very good. For the most part, I've had decent service but it can be slow when they are busy. read more

The server and kitchen were happy to accommodate our request to split two dishes, both of which had incredible flavor, sending them out already separated. The Chicken Avocado Sun Roll & the Wok'd Asian Bowl w/ shrimp (subbed rice for the noodles) were both fantastic... looooooove me some good peanut sauce. :) Lots of iced tea flavors, unsweetened or sweet. After going there 2 times prior tonight was a complete disappointment. Saturday night approx. 5:30 place is less than half full. Order chips and salsa appy and it never came. I order chicken fajitas with lettuce wraps instead of tortillas. My wife orders the Wok`d bowl Mongolian beef. My dinner arrived after 10 minutes,no problem but we then sit and wait a minimum 5 minutes for my wife`s order to arrive. My wifes order seemed to be fine but mine was disgusting, brown wilted lettuce to be used as the wraps. Also find a shrimp that was cooked in with my chicken so I have no idea where that came from. Also for some reason they include shredded lettuce with a lettuce wrap dinner made no sense. The mgr. did offer a comp dessert but after what the kitchen and staff tried to present to me I did not feel comfortable eating anything coming out of that kitch again. I feel bad writing this review as the 2 prior visits were fine but it seems there has been a dramatic drop in quality with that kitchen and it would not be fair to not advise other people who may want to spend their money and eat from that kitchen. read more

Love to go to Zim UNTIL NOW!! Have been going for years at least 1-2 time a month . About 6 months months ago they tried to change the menus and sent out samples of the new menu and asked the consumer (I am on the email list so I was one) what they thought of the changes, and I guess it didn't go over well because they did not change it. Fast forward to today 1-10-26 (one week I guess after they changed there menu)we went to eat there and when we arrived they said it would be 15-20 mins and the bar area tables were not open seating anymore. But there were 9 table and booths open in the restaurant of 30 total tables and booths. We only need 2 seats there were 2-4 tops in the bar area open and at least 7 seats at the bar. Then we ordered food and noticed the two tables beside us were complaining about their food or service. So when our food came out ...... well guess what our food was different then what we had ordered because the menus had changed my Mongolian beef tacos now had broccoli on them ( after the same taco for 5 years they now add broccoli). And my wife her taco salad did not have the chicken on it and the shell bowl was burnt to a crisp ( I had noticed the 2 people at the bars salads were the same burnt as well. The first manager came out and started off nice and then got snippy with me about things change and that's what change is. She then went and got the GM and he said looks like I was mad and couldn't change anything but he could make my tacos over without the broccoli but they had made changes to the menu. Also now I guess you get 2 tacos and no side with them for the same price 2 tacos and a side. And burnt salad tortilla bowls without chicken. The manager said the he was there since June (6 months ago when they wanted to change the menu) and that's when all the changes seemed to start to turn this restaurant upside down and are now alienating its regular clientele by changing the menu. Don't know what happened to the old manager but this new one is changing everything for the worst!! read more

I am obsessed with this place! From drinks to tacos everything just taste so good. I usually like starting off with their coconut marg that has toasted coconut on top and in the drink as well, it's such beach vibes. We ordered our food kind of in a rush but our server was too notch she grabbed our order quick and got it started for us, while we were waiting she brought us some chip with salsa which are always nice to munch on before the food arrives.. Before we knew it our food was ready for us everything looked great I got the general tso cauliflower tacos and I added a third surf and turf taco. My husband got a Mongolian beef burrito. We obviously go to Zim Zari a lot hahaha. Here's my latest update. They have really great monthly specials right now, so go soon! We are obsessed with the Southern rooster tacos: bbq chicken, spicy garlic slaw, bacon bourbon jam, manchego cheese, and fried onions. I mean what's not to love?! The next best option is the Wagyu chili cheese fries tacos: wagyu chili, French fries, queso, and fried onions. I am not a chili person, but this chili is amazing. I would absolutely love it if both those tacos became permanent fixtures on their menu. But even if that chili comes back in other forms (did someone say nachos?), I would order that too. So why not 5 stars? We went to their sister restaurant next door, and the kids chicken meal had 3 chicken strips and the regular French fries that are super crunchy. The kids meal here at zim zari was only two chicken tenders and they downgraded the fries. They used to have the best fries here! I hope this is just temporary, maybe due to inflation? So we'll still hop from craft street and zim zari depending on the specials, but the kids like craft street at the moment. read more

Not sure why it took so long to try this place since we only live 2 min away. We went tonight (on Thursday's they have $2 off burritos). However, we opted to try some of their specials instead as they are changing them in a few weeks. The chicken corn elote rolls were soooo yummy!! Lots of flavor and HUGE! I was pleasantly surprised by the bbq brisket tacos. The sauce had a kick and touch of sweetness and just really good flavor. Also tried their take on a Cobb salad, we really liked the dressing. Neither of us were a fan of the fried avocado on it though. Would have preferred just avocado slices. If your in the area, looking to try something different, I recommend trying this place.
