I love Cafe Zilly!
Breakfast, lunch, even a quick-grab coffee (their flat white is unexpectedly delicious): the menu is diverse, the food is deliciously home-made, the service is fast but friendly, and the prices are great.
Zilly does extensive breakfast options - shout-out to their omelettes, which are soft and perfectly cooked: a rarity in London! - as well as some less expected options such as chicken kiev lunch plates, and a range of burritos. Sandwiches, hot toasties and melts, jacket potatoes: Zilly has a wide range of options to suit every taste from the carnivorous to your most rigidly vegetarian pal. Nothing will set you back more than 5 - 7 GBP, and they have a degree of flexibility with swap-outs and add-ons (for breakfast, most additions are a very reasonable 1GBP or so).
There's a small outdoor area to sit, although it's smoker-friendly so its appeal (I'm a non-smoker) depends on who is immediately around me.
Popular at lunch, but a nice quiet place to have a mid-morning big breakfast.
Yelp note: different menus for take-away and eat-in. Also: often have offers on, so keep an eye out! read more
