    My favorite of my chiweenie!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Zilker Bark! We wanted nice family portraits for the save the date postcards for our wedding and just to have for our home. Our photos turned out better than we could have ever imagined! We chose the dogs plus humans package, obviously. We met Chris at the park and he got around 800 shots in, in what seemed like 30 minutes or so. And my Boston Terrier, who is still in her puppy phase, is not easy to photograph! But Chris did a great job capturing the personalities of both my dogs. We ended up not being able to select 10 from the final cut so we bought the whole lot!

I don't know how you can't give Zilker Bark a 5-star review because they do everything you expect from a business. Delivery high quality products and services at the perfect price with excellent + friendly customer service. They always aim to please and Alex's work has honestly exceeded all of my expectations, and that's really as good as it gets. My dog Patsy and I became frequent Zilker Parkers a few years ago. It's great open space for dogs and owners to hang out and chill. Conversations pop up, and like most people I heard about this friendly guy who walks around Zilker and takes really nice pictures of their dogs. He'll ask for permission and posts them on his Instagram / Facebook page. I didn't think much of it at first - thought it was a cool hobby, but after visiting his Instagram and website I was impressed with the quality photos and could tell this guy really loves dogs. Nearly 2 years ago Zilker Bark and I finally cross paths, this guy approached me and introduced himself as "Alex", he asked if I had a dog here at the park - and if so which one? He was super nice and seemed harmless but a flurry of paranoia ran through my mind - - (does he work for the city? Is he going to ding me for not picking up Patsy's caca? Did Patsy pee-pee on his stuff? Is he gonna tell me I need to put my Patsy on a leash?!?). After almost reaching the point of uncomfortable moment of silence in our conversation I noticed his camera and backpack and asked him: "are you the guy who takes pictures of dogs at Zilker?". "Yes", he responded, and that's where it all began. Come to find out Alex already met my Patsy way back and knew her better than he knew me. Patsy, and I continue to run into Alex weekly at ZIlker, he always says hello and is friendly, positive, and polite. I often observe him interact with owners and dogs at the park as it's very apparent that he loves what he does and is interested in learning about new breeds. I like the fact that he never "pushes" or advertises for sales as i's all about having fun and meeting new people and dogs. Well - one day he took a picture of Patsy and her new BFF Dani-Doper and posted the finished pic on his Instagram. I was so impressed by how awesome the picture was that I immediately went to his website and signed Patsy up for a full-blown photo session, just how Princess Patsy should be treated. Dani Doper's owner (Conroe Panama Red) loved it too but he unfortunately blew his entertainment allowance on dried oregano. I felt bad for Dani Doper, but I guess that's life. Priorities. The set up and scheduling was very easy, Alex is also very flexible. We met at the park where he spent ample time in getting the best pictures and took many, many shots through various angles and looks so I could have a nice selection to choose from. My package consisted of selecting (but not limited to) 5 pictures, however, there were so many good pics that I couldn't pick just 5. Alex also recorded a really cool video of Patsy running around which he edited in some slow-mo. I love how he personalizes the session and the product to focus only on your lovely precious dog. I think the best part of it all is I'm supporting a local talented business owner who I've gotten to know has good character, is a genuine pet lover, and enjoys making pet owners happy. I'll support anyone who organizes a fundraiser to raise $ for a good cause (Austin Pets Alive). Alex and his team slaved all day in the hot sun and donated all of their proceeds to help these homeless pets. Much Appreciations and Kudos to Alex and Zilker Bark.

Such a great experience! Our photos turned out amazing. Alex was awesome! My dogs are dog reactive and people reactive when meeting for the first time and he handled this so well. He was ready with treats and knew just what to do to ease the meet and greet before photos. We have two dogs so I figured it would be tough, but Alex is crazy good at making tons of noises to get their attention to the camera. We didn't have to do anything but hear how to pose and smile at the camera which was perfect. I'm so happy with how the pictures turned out! We did a holiday session at One Eleven East, the venue was perfect with indoor and outdoor options. It's a little far from the city but I thought worth it! I was really happy with the multiple background options! It was honestly just hard to pick my favorite pictures. Overall super fun experience and I'm so excited we did it! I can't wait to use the pictures in our house and on our Christmas card!!!

STEADY MY HEART! The pictures of my new little family turned out amazing. What better way to celebrate our dog Ender getting a second dad?! Andrew is wonderful and has a way with dogs that allows him to get the best shot. Not to mention he is pretty good with humans too. My husband is definitely not a center of attention / lets pose for photos type. Andrew put everyone at ease and it brought out the best in both of us. I recommend Zilker Bark for any and all occasions that require photos and needs to include the most important member of your family. Your pup.

One of the photos we got of Beau. Such great work. Captured Beau's sweetness so well.

The photography experience we had with Alex was unparalleled in awesomeness. From scheduling to the final edited photos, Alex was kind, patient, and professional. My dog, Beau, isn't exactly fond of strange men, which made him a difficult subject. But Alex was extremely patient and positive and took the time to try multiple poses, angles, and methods so we could insure a great set of pictures of my lil fur baby. Beau was a tough client, but Alex's photos hid that difficulty exceptionally well. I would recommend Zilker Bark a thousand times over to anyone and everyone who wants some quality photos of their furry friend.

What an easy and fun experience! I stumbled across Alex through a friend on Instagram and fell in love with the way he captures dog's personalities. Setting up a session with him was painless and simple and He was super prompt to respond and communicate about the session. I brought my two rambunctious pups and Alex was great with them and super sweet about their ill-manneredness. He captured fantastic pictures of them and had them to me within 3 days--and before a holiday! I highly recommend Zilker Bark!

I first met Alex when I was volunteering for Austin Pets Alive and he was taking portraits of dogs in front of the "I love you so much" mural at Jo's on South Congress. It was amazing watching him work with the huge variety of dogs who lined up with their owners to have their pictures taken for this annual fundraiser. Alex worked his butt off all day long and donated 100% of proceeds to APA! It was a little chaotic at times, but Alex stayed cheerful and professional the entire time, took one awesome shot after another, and even photographed a HOT DOG (the kind you eat) for a man who was willing to pay the portrait fee for a professional picture of his dinner. I think a lot of photographers would have been a little put off by this, but Alex didn't care, as long as we were raising money for APA. That's just the kind of guy he is. I started following Alex on Instagram and was constantly amazed by his gorgeous photos and hilarious commentary. I knew he would eventually photograph our dog. When I was ready to schedule an appointment, I went to his website and was easily able to do so. Alex sent a confirmation email with all the details, and although we ended up having to reschedule because of rain, he was quick to communicate and we were able to do our session two days later. The location he selected was off the beaten path, so Coco was able to run around off-leash without issue. (She still doesn't know it was a photo shoot; she thinks it was the best play date EVER!!!). Alex provided 100 proofs from a 25-minute session, and he sent us the link the very next day. Once we decided which photos we wanted, he did final exposure adjustments and provided finished images 24-hours later. He perfectly captured the essence of our sweet little Coco. I truly can't say enough good things about Alex. He is a kind soul and a total professional who plays well with dogs and their humans. He clearly loves what he does, and it shows in every amazing photo he takes!

Alex takes amazing photos! We ran into him at Zilker Park and he snapped a photo of my Old English Sheepdog. Just recently we did a private doggy photo shoot and the pictures turned out awesome! My dog is easily distracted and Alex was able to get his attention for the camera. I recommend Alex for photo sessions and I am definitely going to have him pet sit my dogs in the near future.

    Great shot of Bentley smiling.

Money and time definitely well spent! We found Alex through friends and I subsequently started following him on Instagram. His photos always made me smile when I saw them in my feed and I knew I wanted to hire him to do pictures of my dog Bentley. Alex responded in a timely manner to my scheduling request and we met him at Zilker Park on a Saturday late afternoon. He is amazing with the dogs (we saw him wrapping up with a pair of Great Danes before out appointment) and a great photographer. We got our image proofs within a few days and once we selected the 5 photos that were part of the package, the final images were sent the next day. I would 100% recommend Alex and Zilker Bark for pet photography. And while he will tell you he doesn't take great people photos I tend to not a agree. He got some great posed photos of us with Bentley too!

Once I decided to book a shoot, Jay was timely with his communication and I found him to be very flexible. The day we met to take the photographs, he was clear that his job was to make sure Bowie was relaxed and having fun. He let Bowie sniff around the studio and play until he settled down, which took 45 minutes. During the shoot, he was incredibly engaged with my dog working to have fun with him while getting the exact shot we were looking for. He was meticulous with the lighting and Bowie's placement-but amazingly, I could tell Bowie was enjoying every minute. It's clear he has a talent communicating with dogs! And the gourmet treats he brought to keep Bowie's attention didn't hurt! Jay met with me twice while he worked on the photograph to make sure I was included in the editing process and I really appreciated his point of view and rabid attention to detail. Jay always called when he said he would and met every deadline he gave me. When the photograph was ready we met at the framing studio. I'm not to shy to admit, the finished photograph was more than I could ever hope for and I burst into tears! While I gathered myself he and the framer worked together for an hour helping me pick out just the right frame and matte. That was above and beyond. What it said to me is what I knew through the entire process. Jay's art is his heart and he wants to get it right. You can trust that Jay will produce a piece of fine art for you as special as your dog. The piece he produced for me will be displayed for a lifetime. The experience felt special and elevated the entire way through. You will be working with a true professional and master of his craft!

My husband and I have 4 dogs (that we spoil like they are our children) and we instantly felt comfortable sending our elderly dog (along with some props) with Krista for the morning. A few hours later Krista returned our extremely happy Ella after visiting downtown Austin, the green belt and wildflower fields. A few hours later, Krista gave us a sneak peak of some of the unedited photos. As soon as we saw how talented she is we asked her to book us to take more pics of our other dogs. Today Krista dropped off Ella's hardback book, and wow!!!! She truly captured her young-at-heart spirit. I'm not sure how she got so much energy and variety of facial expression in one morning from our girl, but I could not be happier with the quality of the pictures and the book! For our second session we asked Krista to take pictures of our two American Bulldogs at our house. Taking pictures of these two children is no simple task... One is a 17 month old female, 95lbs and in heat....and the other is 22 month old male and 85lbs... We got to watch Krista in action with our pups and she truly is some kind of dog-whisperer! We can't wait to see the results! Extremely professional, high quality pictures, high quality ( and not flimsy) photo book, well worth the money. Not only is Nicole incredibly skilled with her camera and use of natural and ambient lighting (even on a sort of gray, finicky day like ours was), but she's really gifted with working with cats (and I'm sure dogs, too). We did some of the portraits inside at home, and some outside in the garden near our house. Our cat, Cleo is seldom impressed by conventional toys or noisemakers but Nicole seemed to know exactly how to get him to look interested and cooperate - plus her magical cat toys must've had kitty crack on them -- Cleo loved them way better than anything we've ever gotten him. Also, it's worth saying that Nicole's method was very relaxed and flexible. She never forced Cleo into doing this or that - she let Cleo sort of lead the way, resulting in zero tension despite the unusual circumstances (from Cleo's perspective). Cleo is notoriously un-photogenic, given that he has black fur and always seems to hate it when I point my phone or camera at him. This is one of the reasons I felt it worth it to hire a pro. Cleo is almost 14 years old as I write this review - he's still really active and fun, but he's not getting any younger. I'm so glad I finally bit the bullet and hired Nicole for Cleo's pet portrait.
