So glad that we found Krista and Ruff Adventures! After meeting Krista at our shared vet we decided…read moreto have her take our 14 year old, Ella, out for an "Honor" photo session. My husband and I have 4 dogs (that we spoil like they are our children) and we instantly felt comfortable sending our elderly dog (along with some props) with Krista for the morning. A few hours later Krista returned our extremely happy Ella after visiting downtown Austin, the green belt and wildflower fields. A few hours later, Krista gave us a sneak peak of some of the unedited photos. As soon as we saw how talented she is we asked her to book us to take more pics of our other dogs. Today Krista dropped off Ella's hardback book, and wow!!!! She truly captured her young-at-heart spirit. I'm not sure how she got so much energy and variety of facial expression in one morning from our girl, but I could not be happier with the quality of the pictures and the book! For our second session we asked Krista to take pictures of our two American Bulldogs at our house. Taking pictures of these two children is no simple task... One is a 17 month old female, 95lbs and in heat....and the other is 22 month old male and 85lbs... We got to watch Krista in action with our pups and she truly is some kind of dog-whisperer! We can't wait to see the results! Extremely professional, high quality pictures, high quality ( and not flimsy) photo book, well worth the money. Thrilled that we found Krista and we HIGHLY recommend her to fellow dog lovers!!!

My dog is friendly senior dog and I consider him a bolter (not so good off leash)but she was able to take him out and get him to obey her commands which resulted in AMAZING photos!!! They were gone for the entire morning and when he came back he was a happy camper. It's like taking your dog to doggy daycare and getting great pictures in return that'll last a life time. If you are wanting to have great memories captured of your dog then look no further. Krista is THE ONE! I would trust her with my dog in a heartbeat and my dog is like my child. Thank you for the awesome photos!!

I know I'm just adding to the pile of positive remarks about Nicole's work & manner, but it's worth…read morenoting. It's the least I could do for what she has given me. Not only is Nicole incredibly skilled with her camera and use of natural and ambient lighting (even on a sort of gray, finicky day like ours was), but she's really gifted with working with cats (and I'm sure dogs, too). We did some of the portraits inside at home, and some outside in the garden near our house. Our cat, Cleo is seldom impressed by conventional toys or noisemakers but Nicole seemed to know exactly how to get him to look interested and cooperate - plus her magical cat toys must've had kitty crack on them -- Cleo loved them way better than anything we've ever gotten him. Also, it's worth saying that Nicole's method was very relaxed and flexible. She never forced Cleo into doing this or that - she let Cleo sort of lead the way, resulting in zero tension despite the unusual circumstances (from Cleo's perspective). Cleo is notoriously un-photogenic, given that he has black fur and always seems to hate it when I point my phone or camera at him. This is one of the reasons I felt it worth it to hire a pro. Cleo is almost 14 years old as I write this review - he's still really active and fun, but he's not getting any younger. I'm so glad I finally bit the bullet and hired Nicole for Cleo's pet portrait. It was worth every cent and she was such a pleasure to work with. I really like her personality and style, and especially the beautiful photos I ended up with. I am ever grateful for her service.

Nicole's photography is unparalleled in it's style and beauty…read more As a photographer myself, it's the kind of imagery that makes me want to give up shooting pictures altogether, to bag up all my cameras and lenses in a big Hefty sack and dump them into the river. It's that good ... I recently hired Nicole to shoot portraits of my wife and pets (two dogs, Kaya and Shonee) and have to say that I am MORE than impressed with the results. Just last night I was reviewing the digital images when one of the photos really touched me. No exaggeration, my eyes were welling up with tears! There is something so special about her perspective, something so sublime about her style, that there aren't enough adjectives available to properly describe it. Beautiful. Powerful. Captivating. Expressive. Smooth. Engaging. Emotional. Exciting. Playful. Contemplative. Serene. Intriguing. Perceptive. Like the ingredients of a gourmet dish, all of these apply in different proportions, depending on the subject and the scene. I have never been a big fan of framing portraits and mounting them on the wall in my home, but this time, I'm already thinking about which images to get printed and how to frame them. Nicole's photography is art ...

Dogs Around Austin is THE BEST daycare and boarding facility in Austin. I trusted them from day one…read morewith my Stella Blue. There is no substitution for the services that Dogs Around Austin provides. I found Dogs Around Austin here on Yelp. They had no reviews. I believe they have been open only a few weeks. My wife could not believe that I would select a daycare and boarding facility with no reviews. She was shocked. I mentioned to her that they were kennel-free. Those were magic words to me; kennel-free. One day waiting for my turn to drop off Stella Blue, I met a young lady who was so excited to drop off her dog. She told me that she had been waiting one year on the waiting list to come here. Told her that her baby was in good hands. In June 2022 my Stella Blue was diagnosed with B Lymphoma. It is a deadly disease; with no cure. B Lymphoma is not contagious. I was worried that DAA would drop us. Many daycare facilities do not want to deal with sick dogs. Instead, she received more love. More hugs. More belly rubs. More beef lung treats; her favorite. The Staff is amazing. Past and present employees. The facility is safe. High fences; seven feet high. Artificial turf in the backyard. Plenty of shade with overhead tents. Pools. Water spray hose to cool the dogs down. Plenty of LOVE. The biggie for me; as you walk in no smell of urine. In some facilities, you smell a stench as you open their front door. BOTTOM LINE, I TRUST DOGS AROUND AUSTIN WITH MY STELLA BLUES LIFE. PERIOD. THIS IS THE HIGHEST HONOR I CAN GIVE DOGS AROUND AUSTIN. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.

They don't offer tours of their facility aside from a short Instagram video they have saved but as you walk in, the lobby is always kept nice and clean and they offer amazing dog food, treats and wet food for purchase. They even give a discount for members! I do wish we had more looks into the dogs day in the form of photos or videos however they post some of the day care members on their Instagram story occasionally. I will say even though my dog isn't posted during all of his stays, anytime I call they are able to provide me an in time update which I love! At the end of each stay they also give out a report card, which is a nice personal touch. I cannot say enough about the staff in the front!! They are the kindest most friendly people I have ever met and they are able to answer any and all questions in a timely manner!! As all dog parents know it's so hard to find a good daycare, let alone one you trust, Dogs around Austin is that place for us!!! I would recommend them for anyone looking for a safe haven for their fur babies!

    Annie Ray - Wedding 2010

Annie Ray can make anybody look cool…read more Her "photobooth" photography style is edgy and fun, in no small part because of her incredibly likeable personality and the way she eggs on her subjects like some kind of totally cliche French photographer ("Give me more! Give me more!"). Yet her subjects catch her enthusiasm and channel their inner goofball/badass/child/whatever, striking ridiculous poses, making faces they would never otherwise make in public, even taping gross, who-knows-where-this-has-been fake moustaches under their noses to help them get into character. Yet somehow, magically, everyone looks hip and cool and funky and lively in the end product. Or maybe everyone looks totally dorky and ridiculous, but it doesn't matter, because all your friends look that way in their shots, too. Annie Ray is some kind of photographic genius. Everybody wants some of what she's got. Fortunately, she's happy to share. P.S. The photo posted above is NOT one of Annie Ray's shots. It's a shot I took of Annie Ray while obnoxiously exclaiming, "Give me more!" --- EDIT, January 2012: The photo I posted with this listing was removed by Yelp because it allegedly violated the Content Guidelines. When I inquired as to how it violated the Content Guidelines, I was told that I was supposed to "avoid uploading close-ups of other people." Uh...every single photo for this listing includes a close-up of other people. Yelp, if you're going to remove my content from your site - which, by the way, I have donated to you for free and you have made money from - it might be nice if you gave me the honor of providing me with a reasonable explanation for why it was removed. Just a suggestion.

Attention closet models! Annie Ray is your photog!…read more Some people may ask "Why do all these folks feel the need to act a fool in front of cameras?? I don't get that behavior." Well, partially it's to have a physical memory of the event and the friends we love. But mostly it's cause an Annie Ray photo shoot is like a ride at Six Flags. It's a "weeeeeee" kinda fun where you can be as adventurous and loud and silly as you dare. When the ride is over, most folks get right back in line again. And just like a rollercoaster ride, you can end up with a crazy pic of your adventure. But Annie Ray specifically as a photographer is a joy. She's ebullient, effervescent, energetic, and encouraging which is great when you are working with stoic camera shy boys like my hubby and bff. And she makes ME look good even tho I normally take horrible pictures. I can never get my face to act right (in fact, no telling how many of the 20 or so that she takes she pitches to only post a few on her site....). And she remembers people. Having worked many a Yelp party and working with countless faces, I am amazed that she remembers my name and when she met hubby last event, she was so excited and demanded we take more pictures of just us, encouraging him "Randy love Keri! Loooove her!"...which of course hubby took to mean "Stick your tongue in her ear!!". I always look forward to an Annie Ray photobooth. She is an Annie Ray of Sunshine!
