I went in for my first car detailing and a remote control start installation. I was told that they would do a full detailing, but when I got my car back they didn't even wipe the dash board or front console. my remoter starter install also random unlocks my door and now I get condensation in my car, when I didn't before. Just had a pretty awful experience at the Kingsridge Dr. location involving the "store manager" Brian Peck. He's apparently created problems for several customers in the past as his name is scattered frequently throughout these reviews. He has zero business working with customers in any capacity. I brought my brand new vehicle with under 200 miles to have the windows tinted. Once I got it home I immediately noticed several bubbles throughout the windshield, drivers and passenger windows. I should also note that this is the SECOND vehicle I've taken to the same Ziebart that had such poor service I had to take it back for repair. I've had several vehicles tinted and know that it sometimes takes some time for the liquid to evaporate. This wasn't liquid however and I can clearly see dirt and hair or fibers under the film which simply won't go away. I called Brian to set up a time to have it looked at. He immediately dismissed me and said I needed to wait two weeks. I tried to explain that wouldn't work because it was more than liquid and wouldn't evaporate on its own. He then raised his voice and said "if you're going to talk over me I'm just going to hang up". I then asked Brian if they offered shuttle service so I could get to work, as I already took a day off to get the original service completed, but he declined. At this point I told him I would just like to bring my vehicle back, have the tint removed and get my money back. Brian told me that he doesn't offer refunds of any sort and that I wasn't going to tell him how to run his business. I asked Brian for a corporate number but he gave me an email and told me "if that's how you want to play this, I'm not doing anything for you. Let customer service work it out". I told Brian I would be stopping by the store after I got off work. After arriving at the store, Brian looked at my vehicle and tried to act like he didn't see any issues. I pointed out several spots and he said "in the tint industry, if you can't see it from 20 feet away that's considered a good tint job". I told Brian that wasn't acceptable as I paid $400 for the service and that I've had window tint installed by another local company and it was perfect. Brian then suggested I should have went back to them before again telling me that I wasn't going to tell him how to run his business. Brian then tried to get some of the bubbles out and was of course unsuccessful. At that point he offered to redo my windshield and passenger window "because I was so upset". We went inside to schedule an appointment and while scheduling the appointment, I again asked for contact information to the corporate office. Brian immediately shut down his computer and said "if that's how you want to play this, we are done here. Email corporate and let them figure it out. Make sure you take lots of pictures". I told Brian he had no business working with or talking to customers that way and wanted the contact information for corporate in case the problem wasn't resolved. He then told me he wasn't helping me and that he would also be emailing corporate and telling them not to help. I'll be contacting the BBB and Ohio Attorney Generals office. Ziebart took my money for an incomplete and defective job and is refusing to correct it or issue a refund. This is a predatory business that doesn't deserve anyone's money or time. read more

Do not go here. They damaged my car and have refused to fix it. Its well documented that they damaged my vehicle. I've contacted the BBB and the Ohio Attorney General, and let me tell you they didn't budge. They will do shoddy work, damage things, and refuse all responsibility. It's actually wild. The management is so rude, you guys like out of this world rude. Condescending, misogynistic, truly one of kind awful. Give someone else your business. Go read the other one star reviews. They do this more often than it might look. They will not take responsibility if anything might be amiss, wrong, or flat out damaged. We had appt to have our vehicle detailed so we dropped off the night before! We got there at 4:30 because the corporate told us to be there before 5 so hubby went to go in and check in our vehicle. Bought a new vehicle and wanted the windows tinted. I took the previous vehicle vehicle with me for them to match the tint to the windshield shade. Picked up my completed vehicle today and the shades clearly do not match, so now I have a $200.00 tint on my windshield that has NO perceived tint. I sat it beside my existing vehicle and you can clearly see it isn't the same. I stated to the sales man when picking the tint that I didn't know what shade I HAD but I wanted it to MATCH, they apparently have no way to measure the tint and all they can do is assume and guess that they are picking the correct shade. As a previous repeat customer that referred friends and family in the past... I really thought they would stand behind their work and their "sales professional" that should be able to give you an honest answer. Went to Ziebart today for yearly maintenance on my Honda, and a full detail. I had been going here for 10 years. When I got there, they said you don't have an appt. Yes I do. As you can see the appt is written on the yearly reminder! The guy said that no appts were made for me any time at any location. "We are short a guy so we can't take you". I said it is not my fault that your customer service rep screwed up, so talk to your manager. When the salesman came back he said they couldn't accommodate. I asked to speak to the manager directly, because I had arranged for someone to pick me up, and they were already on their way. The manager Brian, said we are short of help, we can't do your car. I told him that I am a 10 year customer, I have a ride coming, and it is your fault , so why can't you make an exception. Brian said everyone is a 10 year customer! Oh really, prove it! Do not go here! Manager Steve insulted me for 15 minutes and kept saying he was going to have to charge extra on a interior detail do to my kids spilling drinks on the seat. When I agreed he outright told me he wouldn't accept my vehicle because they don't clean they protect. Not a good experience for sure. I have read reviews from others then it happens to me. Scheduled appointment almost 2 weeks ago. Was shooting for Friday May 17th to get my diamond gloss and rust proof maintenance done. No openings that day but was told Monday 20th at 8:30 was free. So I arrange a ride, take the day off work, drive 20 minutes and I am told there was no appointment on the books and most likely couldn't get to it before tomorrow. I also was told when scheduling the cost was $240. Today I'm told about a drastic price increase making it over $300 a year just for maintenance. Needless to say since the system they have doesn't communicate well and I am told it was a stupid woman at the call center I refuse to take time off and loose more money I have decide to go elsewhere. Unfortunately there were problems for some time with Ziebart since my husband quit them over 5 years ago and my son, as well, after the rhino liner destroyed his paint job on his new truck when they done it. It is sad to see a great business back in the day has gone away from caring for the customers. I was told by an auto dealer once that they sold rustproofing for an inflated price and it was just sent to Ziebart. True or not I cannot say but might explain the lack of the customers being kept happy cause their getting their needs met through the dealers. I took my 2019 Camaro into Ziebart to have the "diamond gloss" reapplied to my vehicle and also to have the inside of my vehicle detailed. I dropped my car off on a Wednesday and Brian Peck informed me that the car would be done by the end of the day Thursday. On Thursday I received a phone call from Brian Peck informing me that he and his staff had "lost" my key. I told him that mistakes do happen but your entire business deals with cars and keys therefore that's unacceptable. He said that if he could not find the key that he would replace it and mentioned that the key value is 400-500$. After calling a Chevrolet dealership, I learned that a brand new key is roughly 330$. I arrived at the Ziebart on Kingsridge with my father who had the spare key and upon arriving Brian Peck assured me that he would go through the store and look for the key, and if they could not find it that they would replace it. I told him I wanted a discount because of the inconvenience this whole situation caused me and my family, not to mention the fact that someone at that location could be walking around with the key to my car. His answer was if he gave me a refund that he could be fired and that he would absolutely not issue a refund. Not to mention that they also damaged the paint on my hood while applying the diamond gloss After I left the store, I gave my local Chevrolet dealership the number to get ahold of Brian Peck. Four days had gone by with no word or response about getting my key made and programmed. Brian Peck drug his feet as long as he could in hopes that he could make my key "appear". A customer in Tipp City actually had my key in their car so one of my family members had to go to Ziebart yet again to pick up the key. If you bring your vehicle to this place, you might as well throw your money away. Every time I have taken my vehicle there, they have made a "mistake". As someone who has worked in a small business setting, Brian Peck is the worst example of a manager you could have along with running a business that is truly about making every penny they can over a positive customer experience. So I just heard from the owner of the Ziebart by Dayton Mall. He says I will not get a refund. It's a shame that such a big company won't make right a terrible action done by a store manager. This is so upsetting and disappointing. I've spent thousands of dollars there and the 1st time I complain they overlook it like they don't care. Terrible customer service followed up by dishonesty, lack of integrity and all around unprofessionalism. Took my car into Ziebart today for it's annual service. Bought a Diamond pkg when I bought the car in 2012 that lasts as long as I own the car. While sitting at the vet waiting to have to put down my dog, Brian the mgr called and tried to sell every package they sell and I told him no, that I can't afford doing anything extra this time. Later in the day when I went to pick it up, my bill was $250 instead of nothing. When I asked why, he claimed that I told him yes to some rust check and a maintenance deal. I in fact said no to anything. Told me I had to pay or he was keeping my car until the bill was paid. If I tried to take it with my other keys he would call the cops. On top of it all, after having them do a rust proof since the car was 3 years old we saw rust bubbling under the paint above the tire well. When I called him out on it at yhe beginning of our phone call he told me it must have begun rusting before it being treated at Ziebart. A 3 yr old car rysting? They chipped paint in the same exact spots behind 2 of my door handles ,a small scratch next to one. I was asked to come back to let them see. I already knew they were going to blame it on rocks as per the conversation I had recorded the day prior where as they were trying to already while telling me they had not seen this. While there I let them know that the manager already tried to blame rocks/gravel from my driveway. They seemed prerehearsed as per what they were going to say. I have a very nice VERY expensive Chevy that my husband bought me for my anniversary. I'm stopped frequently and asked about my truck. This year I decided I "needed" a remote starter for my car. Last year was my first year without a garage in almost a decade and I missed that garage dearly. When you're rising at the crack of dawn to hit the gym for a power-workout before heading in for your 10-hour day, the last thing you want to do is have to wait on your car to warm up so you can scrape the snow / ice off of it. So I used some left-over Christmas money and put it to use getting a remote starter. I scheduled my appointment and was told I'd have to leave my car for the day. Plan accordingly for a ride and they did keep my car right up until closing. This location was BUSY and short-staffed on the day I went. I was a bit irritated to have to wait so long to drop my car off. I really felt like Ziebart needed a receptionist to field the guests to drop-offs, pick-ups, and sales. The salesmen were very nice and willing to get the right person to answer my remaining questions. At pick-up the installer walked me to my car and showed me the nitty gritty of my simple starter. I like the life-time warranty on the starter - even for the most basic starter. So far, so good, I'm in love with my remote starter. read more

Price increase of $20.00 on each service required to maintain your 10 year warranty. Cost a extra $40.00 this year over last year for same service provided about a 25% percent increase. Was not informed of this prior to dropping vehicle off. Once I picked up the vehicle both rear door jams were filthy from where they power washed the undercarriage and stood on them to wax the roof of the vehicle. Knowledgeable on all the products and services that they have to offer. Each individual was polite and punctual. Had the car done by the end of the day and the outcome was stunning. The service was horrific. I arrived for an appointment scheduled online and the manager said he didn't have me down for an appointment and I had to have been scheduled at another location. I said I was quite sure this was the location. He then proceeded to say he would call other locations to see if they had me on their schedule. He then mysteriously found my appointment after insisting I was wrong about where my service was scheduled. Then somehow only half the services I requested were supposedly in the system. I have to say this was the worst customer service I have had in a long time. My boyfriend bought me a $250 gift card to get my car detailed. I dropped it off, and when i called to check about finish time, i was informed that my car was too dirty to clean and i should come pick it up. They also said that due to EXTENSIVE body damage they couldnt drive my car into the bay!! When i went to pick it up i asked for an explanation, because the only damage on my car was a few scratches and a nick in the ferring. And as far as to dirty to clean, all there was is a water stain on passenger seat, some clutter and dirt on carpets. The tech said it could not be cleaned to his standard so he wouldnt do it at all!! He also told me they were in the protection buisness not the detail buisness. I ask why do they offer and schedule a service that they have no intention of doing. Then to top it off when i got in my car to leave the battery was completly dead. I went in and asked the desk attendant and he very rudly told me they didnt know anything about it and couldnt help, then they let me sit for 3 hours waiting for AAA, it took literlay 1 min to jump my car. You would think that a shop like that would be equipped with a set of jumper cables. But no one working there had the descency to offer me a jumpstart. The diamond shine gloss looks great on my filthy van. Poor communication. Terrible detailing! After speaking with the manic checked in, we even talked about cleaning the seats and they don't do the roof, and the things that are done. When I picked up the van, absolutely zero was done on the inside. They told me they gave it a courtesy vacuum, an absolute lie as there is grass all over the floor mats. They told me the seats were clean and protected, lie as I can see bits of dirt in every crack and crevice. When we bought the vehicle, we paid extra for the diamond gloss paint and fabric protection, now I feel it was all just a scam to make you come in every year and pay for a full detail. I treated an inside detailing to my husband for Christmas, as he was so impressed at how well this establishment did on my car. We are sorely disappointed in the outcome of his van. We specifically asked that the back of van seats be pulled up and cleaned out in the wells underneath. It does not appear they vacuumed out or attempted to clean out the tracks where the seats were. They pulled up the floor to read between the door and the seat on the side and now it will not snap back into place. We expect only the dealer will be able to do that. He also decided to spend another $150 to get the outside cleaned and put a micro glaze on the outside. Of course, they obviously did not get one side done. I called to try to have the manager rectify it by giving us a partial refund over the phone and he said they cannot do that. Of course he said if we brought it back and he could make it right. Ladies I don't know about your husbands, But mine is not willing to let them touch it again. So he is outside right now doing the rest of the cleaning. We live too far away to be inconvenienced by the managers request. Judge for yourself as pictures are worth 1000 words. And furthermore after an hour outside with the car my husband came in with a filthy rag where he shampooed the back carpeting. It's as if they stopped halfway through the van. And the manager, Brian? Instead of inconveniencing us, he should've offered to hop in the car and bring the guy who is in charge of detailing this and come up and fix it. read more

Ordered floor mats for my 17 Malibu several weeks ago. They called and said they were in, so I drove the 30 minutes from my home to pick them up. I get there and they had ordered them for an Impala. I never got an apology, just "Well I guess we'll order the correct ones." That was two weeks ago. I just called today to see if they were in since no one has called me. The guy I spoke to was super rude when I told him I wasn't happy with the service I got. He explained to me that the guy that had helped me had a heart attack and was in the hospital for awhile. Now, while that is unfortunate and I hope he makes a full recovery, he's not the only person that works there and someone else should have been taking care of his customers while he was out. I work for a dealership that sends these guys a lot of work and, frankly, I'll be speaking to my boss to make sure they do not get any more of our business. Horrible customer service. read more

I have been a longtime customer of Ziebart. We had the car Ziebarted off the show room floor in 2010 and did it every year after that. When rust developed I took it in and talked to the manager, Brian Peck. He said it was surface rust and wouldn't be covered. After talking to three body shops, including the one recommended by Ziebart, they all said there is no such thing as surface rust. It always begins from the inside. I went back to him and he filled out a report to send to the central office. I he said I would hear something in about a week or two. After 2 1/2 weeks I called him back as I had heard nothing. I expressed concern that the response has been so long and was beginning to feel ripped off. I had 8 years of rust proofing and it still developed rust. Brian said I was lucky he sent it in because the policy is that the rust has to be all the way through. It other words, it has to deteriorate so much that the metal is literally falling apart. If I wanted to continue to pay for rust proofing they might cover it in a couple years when that happens. Brian ended up hanging up on me as he didn't want to discuss it anymore. That in a nutshell is the great Ziebart guarantee. It's us or rust--and if it does rust you're on your own. I and my family will never go to Ziebart again. I would urge anyone reading this to avoid Ziebart. It's really not worth the money. read more

I recently took a vehicle to the location on Kingsridge Drive and talked to Mike who claimed to be a manager. I had a few questions about getting paint protection on another vehicle. Do not take your business to this Ziebart location. I took my car there this morning for interior cleaning, a simple request. I made an appointment well in advance and arrived on time, filled out my information and signed the paperwork. After he tried to talk me into exterior detailing, windshield protector, and extra interior sanitizing, the older employee finally stepped outside to look at my car. Upon seeing the dog hair on the seats (nothing I couldn't clean myself, I'd just rather have it overhauled for the year) he refused to take my car, telling me "we don't do that here." He said it would take extra time and effort that he did not want to put into it, and that I would need to take it to another Ziebart location. He essentially refused to do what I was going to pay him for. I'm sorry, isn't that your job? It was obvious that he was just being lazy and he was incredibly rude, taking advantage of the fact that I was a young woman by myself. I drove to the Ziebart on Poe road, where they were more than happy to take my car and perform the interior cleaning, no problem at all. The employee there also informed me that the Kingsridge Drive location does have the luxury to turn people away if they "don't feel like doing the job." I just don't think that's right. I am paying you for a service, and I expect you to do it. The Kingsridge Drive Ziebart employs lazy people who are rude to women and who would turn business away, and I will never go there again. Had a beautiful sprayed in liner applied in May of 2017. My truck was hit and the bed had to be removed to be painted. The dealership took it to the exact same Ziebart. They sprayed a second coat on top of the original coat making it to thick to shut the tail gate. How did they orrect is problem you ask. By using a box cutter and cutting chunks out. Now I have a crappy looking liner. Asked why they did this and Chris the manager stated " if you want professionalism you won't find it here, if you want it fixed right it will cost $1500," to fix their wrong doing. I had a horrible experience at the ziebart in Centerville, Ohio today. I booked a Saturday appointment several months ago for an exterior and interior service for a warranty I purchased and kept updated for the past 3 years. I was told when I arrived and planned to leave my car with them all day- that they could not service my car with a planned/scheduled interior clean because it was too dirty. I guess when you pay $150 for your car to be cleaned, schedule it several MONTHS ahead of time- it should already be clean??? Nice business practice. Was not happy with my experience. Came in for annual Ziebart treatment and that was all. They tried to sell my husband the front protector and he told them it was too expensive. $600+ Then tried to sell us the detail package for $225+. My husband told them since he is retired he has time to clean out vehicle on his own. The service guy marked the paper and turned it around for my husband to sign. My husband thought what he was signing was permission to do Ziebart treatment. He was not given a copy after signing to go over. Went the next day to pick up the Ziebarted vehicle and a charge for detailing was on invoice which he had verbally declined. $230+! It seems the detail order was added to the work order paper. They say it was there when my husband signed. My husband says it was not. Since we didn't get a copy, we didn't catch it and had to pay. Words to the wise! Take a picture with your phone of the work order after you sign it so any discrepancies can be proven. I do not recommend this Ziebart as I don't feel we were treated fairly and I don't feel they are trustworthy. read more

I have been a long-standing customer of Ziebart over the past 10 years. They have always done great work in the past for me, including rust protection, detailing, and window tinting on multiple vehicles. I bought a used 2016 Chevy Malibu less than one week ago and scheduled window tinting at this Ziebart, where I have done some business in the past. I dropped my car off on Thursday night and placed my key in their key drop. They did the window tinting on Friday, and my wife dropped by on Friday afternoon during business hours to pay for the service and pick up my key. When I got off of work, we went to pick up the car. The tinting looked great. However, I noticed that when I pulled into the parking lot, my car was barely in the parking spot. No big deal though, right? However, when I walked toward my car to get in, I noticed two dings in the driver's side door. I attempted to call and leave a message at the store, but there was no way to leave a voicemail. I returned to the store on Saturday. My only intention of returning to the store was for Ziebart to acknowledge that they could have done the damage. I fully understood that I left the car there after hours and returned to pick it up after hours, and I knew that the store likely couldn't be responsible for the time it was left out. I talked to an older gentleman and explained my issue. He stated that he didn't check the car in and couldn't help me. He then referred me to Doug, who is apparently one of branch managers. Doug and I went out to look at the vehicle. Doug acknowledged the dents and immediately stated: "There is no way we could have caused these damages." I challenged Doug on his immediate defensive stance by asking "How could you be so sure?" I dropped off a newly purchased, gently used car on Thursday night and picked it up Friday evening (a 24 hour stay in the Ziebart parking lot and facility), and it now has two new dings in it. Doug acknowledged that occasionally technicians do damage to cars, but they ALWAYS admit to it, and the store ALWAYS makes it right with the offended customer. Apparently, since no one admitted to my car door damage, there was no way they could do anything. Although Doug's explanation seemed incredibly idealistic, I simply asked for the district customer service number. Doug scribbled the email address, brandi@ziebart.com, down on a card, and I was on my way out the door to air my grievance with whomever this email address belongs to. I wish that this was where this saga ended. As I was leaving, another manager named Josh, who had been sitting in a partly secluded cubicle this whole time, said something to get my attention. I aired my frustration with the situation with Josh now, who was apparently irked that I had insulted the integrity of the Ziebart name and his store. For anyone who knows me, when I speak, I tend to use my hands. Josh took this to mean that I was "pointing in his face" and he told me such. I was at least four feet away from Josh and not even angry at that point. However, Josh was upset and dropped me with the bombshell: "GET OUT!" I became livid and felt extremely disrespected. I am a young African-American male and have been a physician since 2008. I practice medicine in the area, so in general, I don't get disrespected very often. Naturally, I was taken aback by Josh's attempt to throw me out of the Ziebart store like store trash. To make matters worse, he threatened to call the police if I didn't leave. He also made the claim that people like me often attempt to get over on large companies like his, whom they see as "a blank check". In my anger towards Josh and the entire situation, I definitely said some things that I now regret. In my opinion, the job of managers in situations like this is to deescalate the situation, not to escalate it. Josh's aggressive stance forced me to match his intensity, and verbal jabs were exchanged for a few seconds. It wasn't until I told Josh that I am a physician and that I will not stand for him disrespecting me that I feel his entire tone changed. It was never about the money for me anyway. I simply wanted to be heard, and I was never given the opportunity due to Doug's defensive stance and Josh's aggressive stance. My family and I are blessed in that we don't struggle for financial resources, but the managers at Ziebart immediately viewed me as some scam artist in my opinion. The fact of the matter is I shouldn't have to walk into a store wearing scrubs, a white coat, or a suit in order to be respected. Unfortunately, for many people who look like me and who don't "look the part ", this is a situation that we often find ourselves in. After the situation was diffused and apologies were made, Josh gave me the name, contact number, and address of "his dent guy".
