Undercoating/Rustproofing
In Short:
Extremely dissatisfied with the service I initially received. To say a toddler undercoated my car would be an UNDERSTATEMENT. Absolutely no fuck was given when they serviced my vehicle. I wish I had taken pictures because it was horrendous, so bad I really don't even know what I actually paid for. It was, THAT BAD. My words will never express the service I got. I would not recommend this company, and if you do use them. The only thing I would recommend about this company, is to inspect it while it's still hoisted up before they even lower it down. I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH, how disgraceful of a job was done. It would have rusted EVERYWHERE in NO TIME if I didn't bring it back and complain.
In Long:
I drop off the vehicle Saturday morning 10/27/18, keys in a drop box because I showed before they opened up. Four hours, I was told it takes to undercoat and "rust proof". I got a voicemail 3 hours later saying it was done. I show up, it's parked outside. I go straight in, pay and get my keys. Before I take off I inspect the wheel wells and instantly see a red flag with what was done. What looked like a sloppy job, and a few missed spots, I go in to speak with him about it. I was told they don't hit plastic, and at the time I wasn't so sure if it was sheet metal or plastic either. I didn't want to argue, so I left to inspect it better at home with a flashlight.
With what this company did, or better yet, DIDN'T do, definitely seemed like they were scamming me and trying to get over on me. $600 and they didn't do shit to protect my vehicle. Again, words will not express how bad of a job was done. Patchy, sloppy, and not going to protect my vehicle in any shape or form.
I brought it back on Monday, 10/29/18. It took just under two hours, me sitting and waiting for them to do the job the second time. I was told, "we don't normally pull the plastic to undercoat due to the plastic tabs breaking, but we're going to do it for you." Which to me, sounds like some bullshit to make me happy. I was never told about them not getting under the plastic covers from the start, I would have never taken it if I had know. I am paying for an undercoating, therefore I want the plastic removed and the undercarriage coated, I thought that was to be expected, but don't expect it for you vehicle because, again, they "don't normally do that". However they did get under the plastic without me asking. I inspected it before it was dropped down, I did see a missed spot, no ones perfect, he got it after I brought it up. I'm going to call Tuesday or Wednesday, about some of the undercoating getting on the exterior, which I am sure should come off. All this being said, they did a total rework, on my time, while I waited for it.
There is an area I am going to question when I do take it back to get it cleaned up. Also, while typing this, with the undercoating being so bad, I wonder if they actually even applied the rustproofing in the door jams and such, I'm going to request that get redone as well.
No one will care for your vehicle like you do. Treat the situation as such and inspect the work done. Preferable before you even leave and while it's on the lift.
No refund or partial refund was given, only apologies. They did rework the vehicle, and he was nice about it. This should have never have happened. What happened to me seemed very fishy and cheeky. I paid the price in my own time wasted. I'm glad I took the time to investigate what was done. I feel sorry for the elderly who don't have quite the luxury of getting under their car to see what was done. Which is why I say again, inspect it while it's still hoisted up.
Without bashing the company, this is in fact, what happened to me. read more
