My son is a straight-A/B student, and he is now having a difficult time adjusting back to public school. My daughter attended kindergarten there, and I honestly feel like she was not taught the fundamentals she should have been learning. A lot of what she knows came from what we worked on at home and what she learned in Pre-K. I brought multiple concerns directly to the people in charge through emails, and unfortunately, I never felt that my concerns were properly addressed. I also have concerns about the school's future location and the lack of communication with parents regarding the upcoming move once the current contract ends. Parents deserve transparency and timely communication about major changes that affect their children. There is much more I could say, but I'll leave it at this: please do your own research, ask questions, look at the academic results, and talk to other parents before enrolling your children. My personal experience has been very disappointing, and based on what I experienced with both of my children, I would not recommend this school.

I am a former student here and graduated in 2024. I was part of the choir in the FAME magnet…read moreprogram, and my little sister, who graduates in a week, is part of the band in the FAME magnet program. I would like to preface that everything that I am today is because of this program and I wouldn't change a thing, because it got me to where I am today and I am extremely proud of everything I have accomplished. Trey Giddens and Ashley Cleavland changed my life, and I would do it all over again if I meant I got to work with them. My little sister has been granted the opportunity to attend Berklee the School of Music because of this program and helped prepare her when applying. This program offers amazing things. However, to say the least, I am extremely disappointed in this school's administrative team that runs it. To make an extremely long story short, when I first joined the program, it was explained to me that once I became a senior, any leftover balance, in the positive, due to fundraising or excess payment, would be returned to me as a scholarship at the annual FAME awards. Granted, this could have been a different policy for the choir program than the band program. However, my little sister had $208 in excess funds that suddenly got transferred to the program's personal finances while my family was still under the impression they would receive it to help fund her future education. There have been several administrative changes since I was a freshman there, including a different magnet director every year for the past 6 years. The lack of documentation regarding finances and student expectation or accolades has been extremely neglected and needs serious attention. I know this review will do nothing to fix the situation my family is dealing in regards to the program, so my only hope is that this post will ring in someone's ear and draw some attention towards the fact that Moffett shouldn't be in charge of the programs finances and outside help may be warranted. Thank you for your time if you finished reading this. I'd like to reiterate that this program built me as a human and it's good for those who live for the fine arts. It just needs serious administrative reconsiderations.

There seem to be personal issues in that review. Hopefully, this person has found some place that is a better fit. Our experience over the last years was very positive up until last school year.(2016-2017) There were some big changes made and it was very apparent that the staff was not happy. The entire mood of the school changed. Several teachers and families left (including us) because we felt as though the school was not remaining true to its mission. Things began to feel much more corporate and political than Christian, sadly.

We were new to Georgia when we first joined SAE. We were originally told our child would be placed in Pre-K 4 even though their birthday is after the September 1st cutoff. Imagine our surprise after they took our money and we signed a contract that they put our child in Pre-K 3. Their excuse was we need to see if they can adapt to the SAE way. Thats fair enough, but they never moved our child to Pre-K 4, even after they passed all of their assessments. Nonetheless, she had a good teacher and the teacher tested her and stated she definitely should be in Kindergarten and not Pre-K for the upcoming fall school year. This we already were aware of since we work with our children at home. We had a meeting with the SAE administration and they refused to move our child to Kindergarten. Mind you our child wouldn't be the only child who has been moved up and this is a private education system. We are paying for it so the reasons that were given weren't justifiable. They wanted us to try the Pre-K 4 program since its equivalent to public Kindergarten( their words not mines) and then evaluate the move to Kindergarten. That failed miserably as an incident took place with the pre-k 4 teachers that prompted our immediate removal of our child all together. "When we called the pre-k 3 teacher that we had the previous school year, she stated she was glad we were done with that place and although the incident is unfortunate I'm glad your child is no longer there". Those are very concerning words coming from a teacher/staff member. All in all it has been such a blessing in disguise! After leaving SAE, we weren't sure what direction to go in as far as childcare since we knew our child was too advanced for childcare center or daycare. So we looked into homeschooling and co ops. Prior to placement they tested our child and they tested on a 1st grade level! Here we are advocating for our child to be in kindergarten and we should have been advocating for 1st grade! Imagine if we would have stayed at SAE. We would be doing a disservice to our child as they would be in Pre-K 4 and not learning on the level they should be. Again if your child operates outside of the standard or on an advanced level do not send your child to SAE. Just for safety concerns alone, dont send your child here. Always ask your child how their day was and listen to them. Actively listen to them, had we not done so our child would still be here. Thank God our child spoke up!

I called and set an appointment over a week and a half in advance. The man tells me that I was ok to attend the 7-10pm 2 day course and provided the location. He explained that it was at 383 Marietta street which was 3-4 min from my home. When I got there, they told me that the class would be in Union City. Almost 35 min from me! I had to take the course at that time as it was already planned out on my schedule. He told me it would take 15 min to get there and to follow him. I followed this man who was speeding down the highway and when I got there, he said we would have made it sooner if I didn't drive so slow... Umm hello??? I drove the speed limit of 65 and was not trying to get a ticket going to defensive driving school!! He was combative and told me that I had a choice to take the class or go home. The actual instructor was nice but it was extremely painful to sit there and listen to him read the whole manual. He literally...Read the pages and it was far from being an interactive course. And his voice was not pleasant to listen too. The video materials used had examples and statistics from 1998 and out of date procedures. On the second day of training, he arrived late while we were all there on time. I was even able to make it on time with the President being in ATL and causing havoc to the traffic. Once again, I had to come down there from the location that I initially signed up for. He arrived, with no apologies, opened up the office and began to start reading the book again after a video. While we were in class, the guy that initially had me drive out there came into the office and started playing music. Regardless of how low it was, it was distracting. After we finished over an hour early, they put on a movie to watch. The put on the un-edited version of "Friday", with all of the curse words and racial terms being used. I found that to be ironic being that the entire office and classroom is covered in religious verses. I felt uncomfortable hearing the "N" word and curses while we waited to be allowed to leave.
