The current exhibition was set up in a small gallery sharing a space with Chopsticks Alley in an adjacent room of the building. With the theme "Super Hunger Anti-Valentine Bowl Games part LX", I had the pleasure of viewing Baseball, Boose, and Beyonce (acrylic on canvas 2025) by Hadi Aghaee, a bold and impressive piece representing power imbalance. But the rest of the artworks were quite engaging too, one of my faves being Jonathan Kermit's The Inexplicable Mys-tree of the Heart. Works SJ presents a variety of meaningful art displays, musical performances, and creative events showcasing the talents and diversity of the art community in the south bay, and supports education in the arts as well. I enjoyed my recent visit, being able to explore all of the beautiful pieces at my own pace, with free entry. Staff/volunteers were available on site ready to answer questions or assist guests, and merchandise was being sold outside just around the corner.

The Sistine Chapel Exhibition in San Jose was decent at best. I feel the location of the exhibit…read morewas poorly chosen for a multitude of reasons... (limited parking and overall set-up just to name a few)... and not to mention that for the price of two adult tickets, a whopping $74? It was HIGHWAY ROBBERY! The advertising for this exhibit promised awe and wonder and what we got was anything but. First and foremost, I gifted this experience to my mother because she has always wanted to see Michelangelo's work in Italy and I thought this would be "the next best thing." Much to both of our dismay, it was FAR from it. Secondly, you are REQUIRED to download an app in order to interact with or get information for the pieces in the exhibition. You then use that app to scan QR codes throughout the exhibit that have been paired with each 17 foot rendition of the Sistine's panels.....but please be advised, the audio for this is not only cheesy... but borderline CRINGE. Not to mention, that although you are expected to bring your own headphones for this audio tour .... If you don't, THEY DON'T CARE. Let me explain....they tell you upon checking-in to download the app and use your headphones but in the same breath, if you don't have any.... that you can play it out loud too if you'd like.... Now, imagine being in the MIDDLE of your own audio for a piece and someone walks up, scans the QR code and begins blaring the same audio again from the beginning ...and you can no longer concentrate on what you are hearing because you hear THEIR audio as well. It was a horrid set-up. This happened no less than three times throughout the self-guided tour. There are very few places to sit for those who have trouble walking.... there are no bathrooms anywhere in the vicinity of this exhibition and there is no clearly defined path to explain where to go, which led to a lot of folks milling about, clumsily crossing over one another to scan the darn QR codes and with a 50 / 50 chance that the individual in question had no headphones.... you will end up disappointed in the experience as a whole. You are honestly better off going to a real museum or saving your money for a trip to Italy. HARD PASS suggested to anyone debating coming to this exhibition....

The event is in one big auditorium with large fabric printed and back lit pictures in the arrangement of the original chapel. They upsell with audio tour device and drinks, which I don't mind, but it can get pricey relative to listed price. Also museums have a lot more for less, so they're not really competitive. However, they will be packed up quick since this is for a limited time only (high pressure marketing, again!) All and all, maybe going proves I'm an old soul as I was younger by many, many decades than everyone else... In other words, the vibe I got was that Tom Selleck was going to sell me a reverse mortgage as I was exiting through the gift shop...

Awesome way to spend a Saturday afternoon learning about local artists and new (to me) art…read moretechniques like the felt art or the giant fruits by Jumbo Jibbles (among my favorite ones). It was my first time attending this event at The Alameda and I totally recommend to take your time to talk to the artists. All of them are super approachable, passionate about their jobs and very didactic teaching or explaining their skills and talents. Park on the street as parking is very limited and also it is very pleasant to walk that beautiful alameda anyways. No cover to enter, and in most cases you can buy art on the spot if you would like it, or even give your email address for future classes by some of the artists.

I was a small business owner who rented a studio space for almost 4 years at Citadel. In 2017 I was…read moreevicted over a suppose visitor violation, but under law I was not given any official reason for contract termination which I believe should be illegal. The 'Office Managers' that issued me this eviction at the time were two women by the name of Jackie and Sally. They were both highly unprofessional and unqualified to manage the building and tenants. Since their employment, I had seen an increase in pest disturbance and security issues. In my specific unit there were bird and rat feces littered everywhere, despite both Sally and Jackie emailing the tenants saying they had hired pest control and were handling it. I believe I was evicted because during a phone call, I stated to Sally that her behavior towards me and the very few people I've allowed as guests in my unit, was unprofessional and inappropriate. I have witnessed and heard Sally verbally scream and threaten other tenants who were in compliance. I would not recommend renting a space at Citadel as long as Brown Associates is still allowing these women to be employed there.

We talked with several artists, and learned so much about each of them, as well as the glass blowing art itself. So much time and effort (not to mention talent) goes into creating these works. As one other YELPER says "good luck trying to leave without picking up at least one"... We left with a couple, and there were people with baskets full of their wonderful finds. The best part of this event, for me, is that I have some items that I know who created them, and a story behind them. So much more meaningful...

Quite a sight to see! Besides glass pumpkins, also stained glass works and glass vegetables and fruit are on exhibit and available for sale. Amid a rustic setting of hay bales, the event is free to the public. Proceeds benefit the Los Gatos High School and local glass artists. Always in October, I believe; for 2008 its Oct 4 and 5th.

Silicon Valley Asian Art Center 硅谷亞洲藝術中心 is an unique art gallery, specializing in Chinese artists…read more It's located at the south border of Santa Clara and bordering San Jose. I never knew Central Computer building on Stevens Creek housed multiple businesses. SVAAC is on the top floor. I was invited by artist Yu Chungmin 余春明 for an open house. Because a government official was visiting the gallery. The meet-and-greet was held on December 8, 2022. I got a chance to appreciate all the art pieces while listening to the artist, the curator and m. The gallery has frequent exhibits from many artists in the exhibit hall, workshop and bookstore. Parking lot is in the rear of the building. Restroom is in the floor lobby. I got a chance to take a picture with the artist and view the art exhibit, as well as meeting influential people.

This was from a few years back that I first visited, but there was no one else visiting, so I had the place all to myself.
