Then asked a couple of questions about snow levels and was promptly directed to the mountaineering office behind the church. Office was closed for another hour after I was sent there no mention of closure from Tourist Office girl. Do your research online. Consult online and paper maps. Talk to some locals. Maybe download the trail du valee app. All before you visit this place.

The resort coordinated…read morethe booking, and on Monday morning, Simon from Zermatters, was in our hotel lobby ready to introduce us to Zermatt and Italy for the week. My husband and I are not new to skiing, but this was our first time skiing in Europe. We wanted more of a guide with some ski instruction. Simon was fantastic! We hired him for 2 mornings and 1 full day in Italy. He was kind, and fun, and made skiing so stress-free. Additionally, my skiing improved so much!!! The way he taught and demonstrated skills really helped things click for me. I love to ski more than my husband does, so when it was just me and Simon, we skied tons and I loved it. When it was both my husband and I, Simon adjusted the speed and game plan and it worked well. When I did ski by myself I knew how to navigate the mountain and Simon showed me the best places to ski for my level with the best snow. I came to Zermatt to experience the Alps and to ski 5 days. It was an amazing experience and Simon made the skiing portion so fun and easy. It was money well spent and I highly recommend Zermatters and specifically Simon. A side note...Simon takes great pictures and knows all the cool places to snap pictures of you and the beautiful Alps. A bonus!

5 stars for excellent lesson, instructor, value, location, and obvi: the VIEW!…read more We took a 2.5 hour ski lesson with a Zermatters instructor. He was super patient and understanding of our skill level which is BEGINNERS. We learned the basics and advanced to actually skiing on the bunny hill. We learned to stand on skis and basic turns. My only not so fave part was the getting rid of the use of the poles, otherwise, a truly immersive experience of Zermatt skiing. Great value at Approx. $90 pp for the 2.5 hour lesson. It is located on the main street, about a block away from our hotel at Walliserhof. The setting is absolutely gorgeous with the view of the Matterhorn. Even if you didn't learn anything, you would still appreciate the breathtaking views of the alps and admire all of the skilled skiiers zipping right through the mountains. Best experience ever!!! Truly a bucket lister. Don't forget the apres ski!!!
