Everything is made in house super fresh and well worth the coin that you'll spend on it. They also have an incredible pretzel shop that offers a wide variety of options. Inside, there are a bunch of Amish folks waiting to serve you. On this visit, I tasted a chicken bacon ranch breakfast roll, a hot pretzel, some strawberry cake, and maple pecan cake. By far, my favorite item was the hot pretzel. It had just a touch of sweetness to it along with the traditional salty flavor. The texture of the dough was perfect. It had the right amount of moisture, chew, and flavor. It was hot and absolutely delicious. The chicken bacon ranch roll was not balanced. It was served hot and wrapped in foil, but it was missing something, like a yummy sauce or veggie crunch. I think there was too much chicken in it, relative to the amount of other ingredients. So it felt like I was just eating a roll stuffed with chicken. While the chicken tasted good, it needed something else to balance it. The strawberry cake was just okay. I think regular strawberry cassata cake is better though. And the maple pecan cake was just meh. I'll be back to try some other items soon!

Overall, I am glad that a couple dozen of us were able to support this local, independent business, especially since the owner herself stopped by to greet us all one by one and give us a short history lesson of the historic building/former home (formerly owned by wealthy local man, George Ford) and the business itself! The recipies are from the owner's grandmother, whose name is actually Quintilia! As part of our tea party package, we had: -Hibiscus berry tea -Cinnamon orange spice tea -Tomato tortelini soup -Petit fours -Homemade scones -4 half sandwiches and 6 bite size desserts Imo, the best dessert was a small lemon tart! In all honesty, everything was very good! I would recommend adding a small salad to the line up, however. Also, make sure to call ahead of time to buy scones to go! There is, of course, a cute gift shop is on the 2nd floor. I didn't buy anything this time. I spent some time looking around the inside as every room is decorated differently. So in all, my bill came to $51 total with tax and tip. Most of us had leftovers to bring home - i did not. Make sure to call ahead for reservations!

The owner took the time to share some interesting information about the location, namely its history as a mansion and the background of the name. It felt like stepping back in time. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Burton!

But on the inside, you can feel the love from the community and sense that this little restaurant is the go to place among locals. We found a table and sat ourselves and almost immediately our waitress came out of the kitchen with an armful of food for a table and then quickly took our drink orders. She was so friendly and the place was packed. Menus were brought out with the drinks in what seemed like an instant. Our food order was placed, and what felt like 5 minutes, the four of us were served our meals. I bet this young woman has muscles under her little dress and apron because she was carrying everyone's orders out the same. I ordered the Western omelette with rye toast-I love rye. But they have lots of bread options-even raisin bread. Hubby got scrambled eggs, bacon and french toast. My bro in law got a fish sandwich-(walleye) and fries, and my sister got a loaded burger and fries. Her burger looked really good, it had a thin meat patty which is my favorite. We all loved our food, not one complaint Classic food done to perfection. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a local restaurant that isn't a chain.

My husband gave that a big thumbs up! But seriously it stayed hot for so long that I thought I would be done with my food before I could drink it! The food came out fast .. and again it was good and hot! The reason for the 3 stars is that we were not crazy about the food preparation. My husband got the Hunters Breakfast with steak and eggs and hash browns. The steak was a frozen breaded patty... The hash browns were the best part of the meal along with the sausage gravy that they put over the steak. Hashbrowns are real potatoes and they had a really good flavor to them and the sausage gravy was very yummy. But the way they scrambled the eggs looks like they just poured them in a pan in a very thin layer and let them cook - so they're not fluffy and they're just kind of like a flat piece of paper. I got the bacon egg and cheese sandwich. You are able to choose which kind of bread you would like for your sandwich. I chose a biscuit. If you look at the picture, you can see that the biscuit is about 5 inches thick! The biscuit actually had more of a texture, look and taste of a piece of bread instead of a biscuit. It didn't taste bad it just didn't taste or look like a biscuit. The bacon was good and it tasted like it may have had Velveeta cheese on it but again it just had those really flat scrambled eggs. I ended up cutting the top and bottom of the biscuits in half so I did not have so much bread. The service was good and the coffee and food were hot, but we were just not a fan of the food itself
