It's Wednesday afternoon it's cloudy so perfect to come here in this Florida heat. We spent like an hour here and it was pleasant. They have a food truck "Nando's Grill" but they operate after 5 pm I was told by a very friendly worker. I brought my mom here for her birthday stroll cause she loves plants. It didn't disappoint. Across the way is Flamingo gardens. I recommend this place but either bring an umbrella to cover the sun or come like me on a breezy cloudy day. read more

I always saw the signs for this plant nursery when visiting Flamingo Gardens. One day I finally stopped to look around and was pleasantly surprised with what they had to offer. There are a number of plant nurseries on this stretch of Flamingo road and this one is rooted in the Japanese and Chinese style of gardens also known as Zen gardens which are characterized by their minimalist style and rock-and-gravel plant beds. Zensation Gardens sells handmade concrete fountains and sculptures from Bali, an interesting selection of bonsai trees, and indoor and outdoor plants that include bamboo, palm trees, gardenias, orchids, and colorful bougainvillea. They also sell artificial grass and offer landscaping design and installations, and LED lighting for your garden. Follow them on Facebook for dates for their beginner bonsai class. After visiting Flamingo Gardens we noticed signs to this plant nursery in Davie. This place had many plants to choose from plus exotic gardens, Asian themes plants and Bonsai, water fountains and planters, flowers and orchards, and other garden projects. While walking through we notice a small outdoor food business called Eleven Yard. We order a soda $2, the fresh made Guacamole with chips $12, and a carrot bread $12 that we took home. Everything was fresh and delicious and the service was great. We sat at a picnic table with a nice view of the plants. read more

This hidden gem has many great items for lawn and garden. I was looking for statues and while they have some, they are mostly of Buddha. The owner must have done magical fertilizer or the greenest thumb ever because the Hibiscus were the largest I've every seen and the plants seemed brighter and healthier than most garden shops that I've visited including Flamingo Road Nursery. I will Zensations in mind mech time that I need plants. They were nice enough to let me walk around. It's a nice idea for gifts as well. read more

Zensation used to be at Flamingo gardens and they moved down the street. I always use to go their tiny store because they have unusual plants and but now their new place is bigger and better. I was looking for some new plants to cover an area where I have a peeping neighbor. I will have to come back with more time to decide which plant will be the best to cover that area view. They actually saidI to get a wood fence and perhaps I will do that. I love their orchids and bonsai. An excellent assortment of unusual plants and all kinds of pots for your plants as well as fountains. I also love their succulent plants. The owners are very nice and helpful. read more

The ladies at this nursery are so inviting. They have plethora of trees and plants to choose from. I went there with a particular tree in mind. And while they had multiple in their inventory, it wasn't quite what I'd hoped for. So Alida said she could have it for me and to return in a couple days. And boy did she deliver! This is located on the same property as Flamingo Gardens so after you've looked at their plants, you can walk over and see the animals and walk around in the gardens for a fee. We've been coming here off and on for years, even before Zensations took over. They always seem to have something unique that we've never seen before. If you like bonsais, they have a great selection. I can vouch that they are authentic, created by a local Japanese grower! Lol. read more

This place is awesome!!! I just happen to take a wrong turn and drove past. I'm a plant lover so i decided to stop. MAANNN!!! Am I glad I did. If you love plants and Zen you need to check this place out!! The staff was welcoming from the wave we recorded pulling in, till the 15 min conversation we had before we walked out. They have one of the largest inventories of fountains, Buddhas and exotic plant life that can be found anywhere. WOW WOW WOW! The garden center and its selection of plants, pots, fountains and the garden vignettes that were set. All of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I had no need to go to another garden center it was all there in one place. Elsa worked with us to develop an amazing oasis in our small backyard with a thoughtful selection of plants and layout. Her attention to detail really shone through on the completion of our crown jewel the zen garden. Although it is a small space it is AMAZING. I wish I had more space to develop with Elsa. Warmly greeted as I walked in. Thank you. :-) I immediately felt a calming, peaceful sense. I told the owner I could live right there on her porch, and she welcomed me. LOL. It's not a fancy nursery which is perfectly fine and preferred by me. I felt serene, as I walked around admiring all their beautiful plants. My favorite section was the porch area--so many healthy plants AND at a reasonable price. While out back, I found a really unique plant in an enclosed "humid" room. I hope I can keep it alive. They have terrible customer service. The whole place is underwater so wear a swim suit. I touched an orchid barely and this little trinket next to it fell that was barely even hooked onto the wall and they made me buy it but I didn't even touch it. I would have bought a plant but I was having a terrible experience. Don't recomend wasting your time there. My feet were soaked after! read more

I am not a Buddhist , but there is something about a zen garden that has a calming effect on you. I cannot understand it. But as i am looking at a buddua lit up at night, it brought me back to my first visit to zensations. I like to go to places where the people are warm and knowledgeable. Where a place is pretty and tasteful and makes me feel something. Alida, and Elsa have created such a place. As you walk around you hear the water from the fountains. You see beautiful colors as well as rocks and good quality statues. Alida and Elsa are so warm and helpful. The prices are very reasonable, but the feeling you get when you go to zensations is priceless. read more
