Pay Full Price, Get a Partial Fix -- Repeat as Needed…read more This company managed to turn a straightforward plumbing leak into an expensive lesson in what happens when accountability is optional. We initially called them for a leak and were charged $769.39 just to assess the issue, followed by $7,098 for new pipes. Shortly after this "repair," the leak returned. When we called them back, they charged another $899, only to then tell us the problem was allegedly where our pipes connect to the county's system--work they are not licensed to perform. The county came out three separate times and confirmed the issue was not on their end. We then hired a second contractor, who immediately identified the real problem: the original job was simply not completed. He also stated--without hesitation--that he would be shocked if this company refunded even a dollar. When we asked why they would bid on a job they were not licensed to fully complete, their answer was astonishingly casual: they "didn't think it would be an issue." According to them, they fulfilled the contract because they "fixed the leak they could see." That explanation alone should alarm any potential customer. I later spoke with a supervisor who repeatedly deflected responsibility by asking, "How were we supposed to anticipate what we couldn't see?" That is not a defense--it is an admission. As a consumer, I do not hire a professional to fix only the visible portion of a problem. I hire them to fix the problem. No solutions were offered. No accountability was taken. Only excuses and a clear attempt to redefine failure as acceptable performance. Be warned: this company appears to complete just enough of a job to justify billing, then treats the remaining work as a series of costly "separate issues." You will be left paying thousands while being told no one is at fault. This was an expensive lesson learned the hard way. Save yourself the frustration, the time, and the money. Find literally anyone else.

I explained it would literally take less than 1/2hr, the "supervisor" dropped the price to 295.00. At that point i wasn't comfortable with them doing the service, Im happy to pay a fair price but its literally connecting a flex hose to the stove and valve in a rental. Disappointing. Buyer beware.

Let me first say this from the beginning we was advised to take as many photos and videos as possible to be sure that we was covered during the process which we have done. So let's begin Day 1 all went well they came out and set up machines! Charged for 6 hours was there less then 2. Water had already been extracted! Pulled up a few pieces of flooring ! Day 2 removed kitchen cabinet instead of unbolting they pried the sink out. Threw away counter tops and all hardware. Used our kitchen bags to pack chemicals that was under the sink! ( but charged us for bags used) Day 3 (1/11/23) Things began to get unbelievable returned to our home to see what progress had been made.No supervisor or representative from the company was there! A Crew ( unable to speak any kind of English at all) was there! Did not understand nothing we was saying! Was using kitchen knives from our cutlery set to cut out drywall, using our household vacuum to suck up drywall chunks! Went outside and got my husbands shop vac to use to clean up drywall. Chemicals had been split all over the floor, furniture turned on it's side, multiple things broken! Holes poked in the back of furniture! Things thrown everywhere ! Finally able to get a hold of the Supervisor on this job he returned to our residence apologizing over and over at what had occurred at our home! Said he had spoke with his main supervisor and all this would be taking care of! He planned to keep the crew working and I told him to get them out of our home immediately! Day 4 ICON brought all their regular employees to extract the water from the crawl space in our home! At this point we received a bill and a email stating we should be thankful that they done such a well job! Lmao what a joke! The supervisor on our job had no clue what he was doing when it came to mitigation at all! My husband finally had to demand that he stop cutting out walls because the moisture readings was good. The supervisor was advised that the crew they had working had drugs in our home we showed him a ashtray that was being used for the drugs! The crew tried to retrieve the ashtray before they left! ( why would a ashtray even be brought into someone's home) How professional is that? The supervisor took a picture of the drugs and told us he forwarded it to his main supervisor at the company! Imagine that ICON! We ask several times for the mitigation report and final bill finally recieving the final bill we have noticed things that we have been charged that was not performed! Benefits them well. When we received the report we received only pictures that was suitable for the companies benefit! How impressing.. know if they are going to do this to a younger company I could only imagine how they take advantage of the elderly that desperately needs help at these critical times. However we will not argue with the company on their behavior or their wrong doings! Yesterday we had a contract come out to put a bid back on our home and found extensive mold left behind! We will be contacting the BBB and the Attorney Generals Office! Pls people do some homework before hiring !

They arrived when they said they would (I'm very big on punctuality) , were very thorough with their work, knowledgeable , and professional. Joe was very understanding and took his time when explaining the process and answered every question I had (despite me asking numerous questions over and over). He was very honest and I do not feel as though he talked me into doing extra things that were not needed / made me spend extra money for no reason (unlike a lot of other companies out there). I would 100% recommend them and the services they offer, as they are a top notch first class company and it was an absolute pleasure working with them!! Thank you for everything!!

My husband and I contacted Icon after a pipe froze and burst in our newly refinished basement early…read moreJanuary 2014. They were prompt to respond with the water removal. The technician, William, who arrived at our house was very friendly. He assessed the damage and let me know that he would leave and return with water removal equipment within the hour. This was about 3pm. After waiting for almost 4 hours with no sign of William, I called Icon to see what was going on. This was where the service went from decent to an absolute nightmare. William did return with the equipment at about 7pm and finished setting up around 830p. From this point forward Icon dropped off the face of the earth, and when I did call to get information, a different woman would answer (Rebecca, Ashley and Marie are three examples) would tell me that someone would call me back and no one ever would. They also told me (twice) that all the information about the water removal would be sent to our insurance company and it never was, even after I spoke with a manager, Chris. I ended up having to request the information from Icon and do it myself. This is even after my insurance company called Icon directly. They left us with a giant hole in our wall and ripped up carpet with absolutely no indication of when the job would be completed. These are just a few examples of the absolutely horrible customer service from Icon. This all happened over an almost 2 month period. The only time I received prompt communication from Icon was to collect balance on our account after I told Chris (the manager) that I was going through a different contractor for the rebuild. Chris didn't even contact me himself, he had one of the women in the office (Ashley) the do it for him. I understand it was a busy time for water mitigation this past January with the cold temperature and frozen pipes. All Icon had to do was be honest and tell me it would take some time to get back to me. Instead they made false promises about when they would call me back, report to my insurance and even show up at the house. Moral of the story: Do not use Icon for water mitigation or disaster services. Even if you only expect mediocre service, you will not get it with them. I have a never gone out of my way to complain about a business before in my life, but I felt that others should know what we went through. Thanks for reading!
