    Room with sauna
    Miranda T.

Not bad for a last minute find. We didn't need an appointment - they accept walk ins, but you do need to request for a room with the sauna if you want that. We did the spa room for two people ($80), with the sauna ($30), and two towels ($3/each). Total came out to be $116 for the hour. The bottled water at the front is also $3. The service was good and the room felt clean. The room consists of the hot tub, day bed, shower, sauna, and Bluetooth speakers which was nice addition. I also liked that the ceiling above the hot tub had twinkling star-like lights. The only thing I would change is for the room to look more like the Yelp photos (candles, plants, etc). The Yelp photos made it look more intimate and romantic. But nonetheless, it was still decent and a relaxing experience. One hour was just enough time for us, but it does take time for the hot tub to get filled and sauna to get hot. Luckily, they were nice enough to give us an additional 15 minutes, which helped with the prep time. Thank you!! We will be back.

I came to Zen Springs pre-Covid and it was fantastic! Post Covid not so much! I came here for my birthday and was so disappointed! I came in earlier in the day and paid ahead of time for a VIP room. The young lady who helped me was very polite, the customer service was good for me before so i didn't expect anything different. My boyfriend and I arrive around 845 for out 1.5 hours session. When we first got in the room we connected our phones to the bluetooth speak (its built into the ceiling, before it was a bluetooth speaker/clock) and began filling the tub. We got the heat to the perfect temperature and got in. While in the tub we noticed HAIR!!! Straight, stringy hair we knew the hair wasnt ours because my boyfriend has locs and i have curly hair. So we drained the tub and pulled the hair out of the filter, i decided that i wanted to wipe the tub down just to be safe. I wipe out the jets and everything, THEY WERE FILTHY!!! I believe there was a total of 6-8 jets and THEY WERE DISGUSTING! I booked for a hour and a half we spent a total of about 30mins in the tub before we saw the hair. Once we cleaned the jets we tried getting back in but just felt like we were sitting in someone else's dirt! I wish they would go back to the cleanliness it was before Covid. The girl at the front desk told me she would have management contact me but its been almost a month and no one has reached out to me AT ALL! I have no intention on returning here. I recommended so many people here too! Smh, PLEASE DO BETTER!!!

All sales are final, and no refund for service "complain" !?? That can't be legal.

I booked the 9am and got there about 8:25, which gave me time to get oriented/tour facility and do a soak to prep. The reviews were accurate. I glad I was solo, made it easier being comfortable being nude. Lots of amenities to glam up before leaving. It was calm and quiet when I arrived, and got busier as I was leaving. Staff was great, and made me feel comfortable and welcomed. They explained everything and answered questions with a smile. The place was super clean and staff actively removed used towels/swept throughout my stay. A good scrub, felt like a symboloc ritual for shedding the old for the new. I now have baby soft skin!

After the body scrub they wrap your body in a foil while they shampoo your hair and apply a face mask. The spa is small but has the essentials: sauna room, steam room, cold plunge, and jacuzzi. Upstairs there's a clay ball room and the salt room. My absolute favorite was the clay ball room. I was so relaxed after my 90 mins treatment when I went into the clay room I almost fell asleep. I will definitely come back. Only thing is it is in japantown so parking can be hard. But it was very convenient to go across into Japan Center for lunch afterwards

Environment & Ambience: Kabuki has a much wider space, calming music, great ambience, wonderful smells and decor. OnsenSF is a dining space when you enter and spa in the back. Everything looks modern and nice, relaxing environment despite being located in the tenderloin. 3. Hot Tub: Kabuki has a rectangle shaped hot tub as opposed to OnsenSF's square shaped tub. 4. Cold plunge: Kabuki has a cold plunge that's perfect for people who don't need it to be extremely freezing. OnsenSF has a cold shower with many heads in place of a cold plunge. Both are enjoyable experiences 5. Steam Room: Kabuki's steam room is also rectangular as opposed to OnsenSF's square room. Kabuki's steam room also has a shower to rinse off excess salt and sweat before entering the common area. 6. Showers: At Kabuki, there's also a line of stools for the seated handheld showers where you can fill a tub of water and pour it over yourself in addition to the traditional shower stalls, where OnsenSF only has the traditional showers if I recall correctly. 7. Sauna: The sauna was great because you could adjust the heat by moving up the wooden bleachers. There was also plenty of space to stretch out and lie down. There were wooden half-cylinder blocks to place under the neck and back to promote blood flow. My partner's favorite standout was the salt scrub they have that's free to take at the refreshments table. You use it to scrub away dead skin in the shower and steam room. My favorite was the bowl of towels buried in ice cubes that helped me keep a cool head in the hot tub and sauna room. I will say that the thing that makes OnsenSF stand out is their dining pop-ups, but there's plenty of dining options on Fillmore and in Japantown. I would definitely go back to Kabuki again. The experience was incredibly relaxing. Highly recommend.

Possibly the best bathhouse in the Bay Area…read more Kabuki Springs is tucked away off a busy street in Japantown and feels like a portal to another dimension, one full of warm water, a quiet atmosphere, and plenty of lemon ginger tea. I was instantly drawn to how intentional everything feels here, from the dark wood of the sauna to the sleek tile in the showers. It feels carefully crafted to be both modern and timeless, with the Japanese motif flowing through all of the design. Personally, I love the dim lighting in the baths; with no windows, it feels like time is suspended. Is it midday, or midnight? Sunny, stormy? Early, late? You can't really tell when you're there, and that feels like the point. It's an escape in its truest, most relaxing sense. Attendants are constant in the baths, which makes it feel far more luxurious than what the price would suggest. Cucumber, lemon, or plain water are all on tap, as are iced hand towels, salt scrubs for the steam room, and hot lemon ginger tea. I loved how cups are encouraged to be reused (I hate seeing the giant pile of single-use cups in the trash at other spas). I'm holding out hope, however, that traditional green tea may make an appearance in the future! I'd recommend attending on one of the single-gender days, as I found that lent itself best to the fully immersive experience. Shower sandals are available, though I found them a bit uncomfortable. Next time I'll be sure to bring my own. As a bathhouse enthusiast, I cannot recommend this place enough. I can't wait to bring my friends here to learn for themselves just how relaxing and rejuvenating the sauna, steam, soak, and plunge rotation can be.

CBD Float Session w/ CBD Gummies and I highly recommend! It was our first time and I was a little nervous but we had a quick instructional video we watched and staff walked us through everything and answered all questions. Now for the actual experience, you do shower first and you can bring a bathing suit if you'd like as well but each room for your session is private so it is optional. You shower before you go in and make sure you use the earplugs since you are going to be floating so to avoid it getting in your ears. There's an option to adjust the lighting and sound and to even turn it all off if you prefer a more sensory deprivation experience. You can change your selection throughout which was really nice so you can try all the different modes. One thing to keep in mind is that it is like a bunch of salt (think your at-home epsom salt TIMES A THOUSAND) so it can be a bit of a different texture at first but you can always slightly open the door and they have a spray bottle for just water or if you just need some air at any point during your session. For me, I think a good session would be about 60 min. The full 90 min. was definitely nice but I think about an hour in my mind was beginning to race a little so I think an hour is perfect! Facilities were very clean and the complimentary tea was so lovely and the staff were so kind and helpful!
