FOOD & DRINKS The menu is compact and has some Japanese…read moreclassics to choose from. I asked for a recommendation and picked a Miso TanTan Ramen and a Katsu Bao. The beef ribs also catched my interest but I couldn't resist to try out the Ramen and with that there was no stomach room left for the ribs. Plus my last beef rips experience (not in this restaurant) wasn't that great. The ramen really looked and tasted authentic! They hit the flavours and the ramen egg was done well. Maybe a tad too salty but it was marinated and cooked properly which I can't even say for some Japanese run ramen restaurants in Germany. The Katsu Bao reminded me of China meets Japan meets Vietnam meets Korea. The Bao (China) fluffy and slightly sweet, the Katsu (Japan) crispy, the sweet sour pickeled carrot and fresh cilantro (Vietnam) and finally the Kimchi (Korea) for a sour spicy note. The homemade ice tea was good too. SERVICE A bunch of cool and friendly guys were rockin this place during my visit. I was the first one to arrive for lunch and expected the service to be fast. No complaints. ATMOSPHERE Industrial and modern look. A dark color theme with some Japanese pictures on the wall and an open kitchen. I like it. RATING So why just four stars? First I wanted to give full five stars but I the last star to me is something personal. The restaurant needs to scream amazing to me and unfortunately it didn't. Everything was really good. The ramen was even better than some Japanese run places I have been to. The problem to me is not the food. It is the flair. The restaurant and its menu wants to sell their customers Japan. The food is there but I just don't get the Japanese vibes and this has nothing to do that none of them was Japanese. You can sell the Japanese feel without being Japanese. It starts with the decoration. While they had some elements they were kinda lost. This restaurant could be anything really. The atmosphere didn't emit Japanese vibes of an Izakaya either. I still can recommend this place and will come back to test more.

Authentic Japanese, real solid ramen…read more The spicy chicken ramen really hit the spot, savory broth and perfectly cooked noodles. I was surprised how thick and umami the broth tasted. The takoyaki were also delicious, only wish they came with 6 and not 4. The chicken wings, another home run. The gyoza were a bit on the soggy side, perhaps maybe another 30 seconds in the pan would've made them perfect. Also try the various fruit teas, not too sweet and perfect to wash down the hot noodles with.

Daikan - Die offene Küche - immer spannend! Und man kann, dass die Suppen hier noch richtig gekocht werden - und keine Brühwürfel verwendet werden.

The ramen was pretty good for Cologne standard. I ordered the traditional Tokyo shoyu ramen. The servers were attentive even though the restaurant was busy. It's definitely worth the wait!

Good ramen in Germany is hard to find, but Takumi makes great ramen. Not the best in my life, but…read morereally good for Germany, so it gets full stars for someone that has been stuck in Germany and hasn't been back to Japan for 2 years. You have to ask for pepper for your ramen and rice vinegar for your gyoza, but that is a bit minor. They have no raw garlic toppings and this was a disappointment for me. You have to ask for more sesame toppings if you desire. They had a tap for Kirin beer, but they told me at lunch time that they were sold out. 5 stars egg noodles 5 stars Miso soup 3 stars Chasyu, was tasty, but really thin and they gave you one slice. 0 stars No raw garlic topping 5 stars Gyoza, because they had Nira in them 0 stars No Kirin beer on tap Gute Ramen sind in Deutschland schwer zu finden, aber Takumi macht großartige Ramen.

For €19 per person, hot pot is added to the buffet. The buffet has typical Chinese dishes like chowmein stirred fried noodles, chicken wings, sweet and sour soup, stirred fried vegetables, sweet pork, salted pepper Shrimps which are slightly over cooked or more like been cooked since lunch time. The sushi section has typical rolls like California rolls. Tuna rolls, some sashimi which are not too bad but all covered with plastic wrapping... Not sure why since we did not see any flies in the restaurant. The salad section has kimchee, some green veggie, pineapple and water melons which are fresh. Desert is including vanilla, strawberr and chocolate ice cream. Overall, the food is OK. The restaurant'a dinning area is quite clean and modern but the bathroom and kitchen area needs some care!

Although a chain, inside is nice.. doesn't appear to have a fast food atmosphere so I wasn't scared away. Communal seating here is the theme, so grab a seat and get cozy with others! Apparently they take reservations too, but I didn't have one, and I had no issues on getting in. Menu is Japanese named items, but explained in both German and English. Also, pictures are present for most items. I started out with Agadashi tofu, followed by a Shoyu ramen, all washed down with an ice cold Kombucha. Tofu- nice broth/sauce it was served in, but the fried wasn't that fried or crispy, more of a flour coating. The tofu itself was not as soft as traditional agadashi, but more of a firm bean curd.. Either way, good flavor, but didn't love the texture Ramen- After my MoschMosch experience, I was really expecting to get let down. However, the broth tasted great! The noodles were real ramen noodles, and not soggy! And the pork.. wow! Great flavor and soft, like it was cooking for hours! I was really blown away to how great this ramen was! Overall, for all three items, I walked away with the bill being 16 euros.. which really isn't that bad, knowing that I walked away stuffed and happy! The drink was actually more expensive than the app! I will definitely be back to try other items! :)
