We were passing through Düsseldorf for half a day and saw they're known for their Japanese food, so we decided to check out Takumi! They have both indoor and outdoor seating available. AJITAMA TONKOTSU RAMEN: I'm a tonkotsu person and almost always order this over other types of ramen. Not sure if I was just so severely deprived of Asian food, but I felt Takumi's tonkotsu ramen ranked pretty high on my list! And coming from SoCal as well as having lived down the street from both major Japanese food hubs in Los Angeles, that's saying a lot! Good amount of pork, the noodles were cooked to the perfect texture, and the broth was rich without being overly salty. I don't usually enjoy other types of ramen so I can't speak for those items from their menu. But I slurped my entire bowl of tonkotsu ramen dry! KARAAGE: Large pieces with crispy exterior and super juicy interiors! I wasn't expecting much but in the end I was super happy we ordered this. Overall, amazing tonkotsu ramen located in Düsseldorf's Little Tokyo.

Trying to reserve with the help of a form on their website didn't succeed: no reaction at all. Anyhow we decided to just go there. Then the food: with my family we enjoyed some sushi plate as a starter. This was fresh, nicely served on large plate and absolutely the star of the dinner. My recommendation: eat sushi in this restaurant. As a main course we ordered ramen and yakisoba. The ramen was okay-ish, a bit more spice and taste wouldn't harm the experience. The yakisoba with salmon was very disappointing, the sauce was so sweet, it was like a desert. Really disgusting. The yakisoba with chicken was way better, but not worth the price, it is a dish similar to what is offered at takeaway wok restaurants in railway stations. My final judgment: 3 out of 5. If you go there, sushi is the dish to take.

I waited for more than half an hour for a plate of sushis and some noodles. I wanted to leave after some time but the owner told me that my order will be ready in 2 minutes. I got it 10 minutes after and no apologies, or any word from him. I don't recommend this place unless you don't mind waiting for ages.

You have to ask for pepper for your ramen and rice vinegar for your gyoza, but that is a bit minor. They have no raw garlic toppings and this was a disappointment for me. You have to ask for more sesame toppings if you desire. They had a tap for Kirin beer, but they told me at lunch time that they were sold out. 5 stars egg noodles 5 stars Miso soup 3 stars Chasyu, was tasty, but really thin and they gave you one slice. 0 stars No raw garlic topping 5 stars Gyoza, because they had Nira in them 0 stars No Kirin beer on tap Gute Ramen sind in Deutschland schwer zu finden, aber Takumi macht großartige Ramen. Very little…read more It's my second time at this location (The Outlet in Roermond, The Netherlands) and it wasn't any better than the first. Walked in just before their lunch rush and ordered the Shirodashi ramen. Place was clean, trendy deco and the music was hip. First, my ramen did not resemble the photo on the menu/website. Mine looked haphazardly constructed. The pork belly looked like it was tossed in instead of displayed. Dish temperature could have been a bit hotter as well. Secondly, the broth could have been richer and deeper in taste. Perhaps its saltiness compensated for the blandness of the stock/broth. They should lose that uncomfortable wooden ladle contraption and replace it with a proper Chinese/Japanese soup spoon. I want to like it but it's not happening.

The service was really friendly and attentive and spoke perfect English. We were immediately seated and got a table outside at the small street terrace. The menu has several starters, ramens, currys, noodles and teppanyaki. For each meal it's possible to chose the type of noodles. We tried the Gyoza which come with a special, a bit spicy sauce. They were good, however not crunchy at all. For the mains we took the Shirodashi Ramen and the Seared Nuoc Cham Tuna. The ramen had a tasty chicken/miso broth and plenty of toppings. The egg was however hard boiled. The Tuna was not overcooked and was juicy. It was accompanied with quinoa and seasonal steamed vegetables. Taken that this is a chain and a restaurant in a shopping mall it was good value for the money and a good pit stop before continuing the shopping.
