Saturday afternoon with football beer and schnitzel
    Lilli J.

Fantastic pub to watch german football matches, they have a big screen show all the games and you can reserve table to view a match. We love to go, have a couple nice german beers (my favorite: Warsteiner), Currywurst and Jaegerschnitzel with fries and enjoy a football game. Waiters are mostly German and some are British, so are the guests. We come all across London to this pub because it is simply the best for watching football.

Typical German style bars.Friendly chef and waiter left me deep impression.I tasted beef, awesome.Sweet Tarte Flambee which including Apples, Cinnamon, Sugar, Raisins, Almonds & Vanilla Ice was awesome dessert.I enjoyed it.The only issue is too much for single since I had main course beef before. You should bring friend here to share it.

Sadly they closed the kitchen an hour early that night so we had a beer and a cider and moved on

The potatoes were not crisp at all and felt like they were undercooked. For the vibe of a Friday night to go and chill with friends, the place is amazing. You won't be disappointed at all. Maybe not the first choice for food.

I didn't feel like alcohol and mainly came for the food, ordered tap water and got an odd look from the bartender as in "you do know this is a beer garden right". I approve of the chicken schnitzel, it is beaten well and not a dry piece. Normally schnitzel is a lottery where 50 percent of the time it will be dry like a bad Thanksgiving turkey where you need to gulp water excessively. My theory is the skill is in the beating of the chicken along with the timing of the frying. Other than that, it's obviously just breaded chicken. You can order it regular or small size. The chips on the side are really good and you get a red cabbage salad as well. Any sauces cost extra. The potato salad was also good and a generous serving for only 2.5£. I think the allergen information might be wrong, because it says that mashed potatoes has nuts in it. Maybe it's a German thing. Bill dropped off at the table before food being served, gave the feeling of 'finish your meal and leave so I can close up early', but maybe I'm overthinking. I would consider coming back on a day when it's a bit more lively. Vegan options available for those who think a seitan schnitzel sounds like good idea - not me.

The Wurst Club - Frontage of this new wurst joint in the City of London

I am said friend that Yelper Tim L alludes to in his review…read more I can't really hype this place up, nor can I really say anything bad about it. It was simply just ok. Being a German, it's simply a treat to once in a while treat yourself to a Currywurst or a Krakauer...and so I appreciate the folks at Wurst Club for giving me this opportunity. What I missed was a place to sit and by means, this is nothing that the shop owners can do about, due to the space constriction, but not working around the area, I had to find a place to eat my wurst. I had ordered the homemade Kartoffelsalat (potato salad) and while the portion was plenty, the taste didn't exactly hit the right spot. (Maybe I can give away my mother's recipe, as her potato salad is delicious!) My tip: go for the Currywurst as this is the most German you can get. Simply have it with fries in a paper tray - it's by no means healthy, but it sure makes you feel good inside ;-)

I stumbled across this place on the way to Leadenhall Market and made a mental note to return and try it for lunch. I ordered the Berlin Berlin meal deal which is Curry Wurst, Chips and a drink for 6.95 which puts it in the top end of my lunch time pricing. Considering that it markets itself as German street food is a little pricey but then again the rent on a unit on Cornhill will be steep. There is not much space to eat inside so I would recommend The Wurst Club as a takeout place. I was impressed with the food, the curry sauce on the sausage tasted great and the chips were very crispy. I'll definitely try it again.
