This "WAS" my go to store as it had everything for all my needs. Use to have some of the best sales in town even compared to all other grocery stores.
Unfortunately since COVID has emerged prices at Zehrs have gone up.
They clearly cater to the wealthier crowds. The little guy can rarely afford to shop there. Staff is rarely happy. They clearly don't enjoy their jobs.
There is a greeter on one side upon entering, but he clearly doesn't enjoy his job either. If you say hello you'll just get a grumble in return. Pointless to even ask them for any help as no one is ever around for any kind of assistance. No matter the section, oh yeah except in produce, the ladies there are always smiling even through the mask anyone can see that, and they do give assistance when asked and are mostly kind at it.
Waiting in line is the slowest service ever. As they only keep 2-3 cashiers open even on the busiest of times/days. I don't understand this concept.
It's as though zehrs can't afford extra staffing??? What gives??
Also learned from a staff member when a zehrs worker contracted COVID last year they told other staff to lie and deny it. Something is clearly wrong in management. Or perhaps it's the owners themselves that are to blame.
And no wonder, since COVID began many of their employees did not where masks. So no wonder their staff got infected. They defied the rules for protecting others and themselves right from the beginning.
There is one staff member that works mainly the lottery booth and self serve areas that has never worn a mask nor does she know how to smile!!!! Ever!!!
I don't know why such people get a job in customer service.
I would walk in with a smile only to leave with a frown after this girl would just look your way. I would shake it off of course, and not return to this zehrs for awhile unfortunately. The store still draws me on occasion, but upon leaving past the self serve checkout I almost regret going as she's there with no mask looking as miserable as ever!!!
It saddens me, that I as well as many others no longer trust this Zehrs location. They have a long road ahead to fix this situation.
I wish them luck in these trying times!!
P.s. this is a time when we look to places for trust to help keep us safe, and to those who work in customer service to help lift us up and not bring us down read more
