We had multiple large projects with Zech: replacing an undersized water heater with two tankless water heaters and installing an upstairs laundry area. They took advantage of the fact that we were having other work done before moving and dragged out the projects to over a month - still not completing them before we moved in. On the dual tankless water heaters, which should've been a 1-2 project without a break in hot water in the house, they left us without hot water for a week. In addition, they configured the water heaters incorrectly so recirculation was not going through the house. I had to correct these myself even after spending upwards of 7K. When setting up the upstairs laundry area, they dragged this out over a month, made multiple mistakes (including stepping through the ceiling), and kept damaging & marking up the house. We had to pay multiple contractors to clean up, or complete, after them multiple times as they would say the hookups are done, only for us to find out they had not completed the work and had to re-open walls. Their answer to everything is "well that's the painter's job" - even though we had already cleanup after them multiple times. On top of that, they made big mistakes like not installing the dryer vent and mislabeling hot & cold water valves, leading to running delicates, wools, etc., through a hot water wash when they should be cold water only, leading to irreparable damage to clothes. Zech did nothing to make this right and blocked me when I was looking for responses. Unfortunately, I paid by check and cannot charge back. I will be reporting them to the CSLB, though. While Zech was recommended by my realtor, I would make sure you steer clear. read more

This company used to be the contracted company for my condo complex. They were terrible. They messed up multiple slab leaks, were not proficient in repiping the buildings, and were extremely sloppy in their work. They used an excess of epoxy when doing some underground building work without bothering to wipe it away and now a few years later, it has dislodged and I am dealing with clogged pipes and a clogged shower cartridge due to their haste. My HOA is refusing to pay for it, so I am out over $2,000 at their negligence. Be careful. read more

Never again! Called out just to install a garbage disposer, the plumber did not install it properly. He did not install two of the three parts that came with the disposer. I reached out to the owner of the company for help and he asked, "What would you like me to do about it"? I told him I would like another plumber to come out and install it correctly. He did not reply, so I ended up hanging up on him. read more

Very responsive. Highly professional. Excellent costumer service. Took care of the water leak inside the wall with no problem!

Honest and reliable and efficient plumbers! We have hired them many times and recommend them.

Zech was recommended by my neighbor as reasonable and reliable after we received an outrageous estimate from a well-known plumbing firm. I called Zech and they fixed the problem for several hundred dollars less than the other estimate. The Zech plumber showed up on time, did the work, and cleaned up after himself. Excellent work. Great price. read more

Service requested was a respect for legal rights to record in public. The owner of the company gave a very low value response to recording in public by pushing his camera phone into the faces of those exercising their 1st amendment right to record. The whole interaction was very disrespectful to those peacefully exercising their rights, and disrespectful to those who wrote the Bill of Rights. read more

I'm willing to try to fix things. Our garbage disposal waaaaaaas working. The few last times it stopped I looked on YouTube for answers. I did what they said and proudly went about my day. This time it's humming wasn't singing the tune I wanted to hear. The Zech trucks are always in the neighborhood and have actually been in our house repairing mistakes (not mine mind you) of the past. Of course I call Zech. Sean showed up early, neatly replaced the disposal and was out in 40 minutes. It would have taken me 40 aggravating days and nights. If Zech Plumbing is doing the job, everything's gonna be alright. read more

Another 5-star stellar job by Zech Plumbing today to clear the line from our kitchen sink. It was a tricky, lengthy job to clear the line, but Zech did it for under $200. Extremely happy with very good work! read more

(Zach was highly recommended. Giving them a 2nd chance. ) We have a toilet draining problem. A retired plumber friend referred Zeck plumbing. The tech from Zech looked at it for 2 minutes, flushed the toilet, and told us it was a problem with the actual toilet. I had it replaced by and the issue is not resolved. Clearly it is a drain issue. The tech who was there did not want to deal with it and left. Now we are out the money to install a new toilet and still stuck with a toilet that still won't flush properly. read more

Another 5 stars for the visit today. They came down for a leak detection and found out that it was the irrigation that was leaking. Since Zech plumbing doesn't do irrigation leaks, they recommended couple of other companies who specialize in irrigation leaks. To top it off they gave me pointers on how to find the leak myself and didn't charge me a dime. I would call zech whenever I have any plumbing in the future and recommend this company wholeheartedly for being honest, on time and being reasonably priced. read more

We had a very sad experience with the company. The technician that was sent to us started fixing the water heater and explained that he will need to buy some extra parts the next day. We haven't received the call from the company and when I called back the customer support, the person said that the technician person is not working anymore and we will not be able to come anymore, maybe find someone else. There was no hot water for a while already and now I have to find someone else and schedule an appointment (maybe it will take another week with no hot water). The technician person actually started replacing some parts and said that it did not help, kinda stuck in the middle( read more

I noticed there must be a water leak from the upstairs bathroom affecting the garage downstairs. Dave with Zech Plumbing research the leak to find there was nothing wrong with the pipes. With Dave's experience, he was able to figure out; the problem is with the overflow part on the tub and he fixed it for me. I have always had excellent quality service with Zech Plumbing and they will be the only PLUMBER I will ever call for future plumbing problems! read more

After experiencing the latest slab leak in our home, we decided to re-pipe in October 2022. We gathered multiple bids including Zech Plumbing to make the most informed decision. From the original estimate that John did for us, we felt very confident that they would do a great job for us at a very reasonable price. I must say that it is an intense project to do while you are in the home. The daily crew of 3, Pedro, Paul and Marty, arrived on time each day and worked diligently to complete their work efficiently always making sure at the end of each day we had water access and a functioning shower! They completed the job with minimal drywall cutouts and did a great job with drywall patching and texturing. We had a painter come in afterwards to do the last phase of the job. I would definitely use Zech Plumbing again for any plumbing needs. read more

I highly recommend Zech. John and Paul worked us in the same day we called. They arrived at 6:25pm and stayed 1 1/2 hours to successfully unclog our severely stopped up kitchen drain. We are very happy with their response, their work and their professionalism. read more

Although every service provider around town in extremely busy, Zech plumbing fit us in and fixed our slab leak. After multiple estimates, Zech was the most fairly priced and they gave us multiple options of resolution. They ended up re-routing the pipe through the wall, which needed minimal construction in the house. Pedro was extremely professional. He was kind and knowledgeable and did an incredible job making it look like no one was ever here. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a fair and professional plumbing company! read more

Our second floor shower was leaking through the wall in the first floor. Zech plumber Sean investigated and determined that the 25 year old vertical cast iron pipe had split right up its side. He did minimal drywall cuts, removed the pipe, and replaced it with a new pipe. He replaced the drywall, but left us to get a drywall and mud repair later, which we have scheduled this Friday. read more

It can be difficult to find a reliable and trustworthy plumber. Zech has been just that for us. We've had them work in two bathrooms, our kitchen, helped us find a broken pipe in our slab, and do a whole house repipe. We've never felt duped or taken advantage of. The team has worked hard and been fair. We've never been charged a penny more that we were told before the work began. Five stars for sure! read more

Zech plumbing has saved us multiple times over the past 10 years in two homes. In our first home we had a leak from our kitchen sink into the garage. After one plumber made a hole in the drywall and after 5 minutes said we needed to have an entire wall opened up to see what the issue was. Then another plumber tell us we needed to jackhammer up our driveway to look for the leak. Zech plumbing came out, scoped the pipe, found the source of the leak which was in a flower bed therefore no jackhammering and overall permanent fix for a very reasonable fee. Most recently we had a leak from our upstairs shower into our kitchen. One plumber said it was the shower pan without doing any real tests. I had Zech come out for a second opinion and within minutes of methodically going through potential sources- found it and fixed it. Zech plumbing- honest, fair, experienced and worth every penny. Only issue is they are very busy! read more

We got three quotes for removing roots from a sewer pipe. John responded quickly, knew what he was talking about and had local knowledge of how the pipes ran. His guys came the next day and dug up the front yard, repaired the pipe and replaced everything very efficiently. They were recommend by a realtor, I would certainly recommend them myself. Their price was a whole order of magnitude less expensive than the other two companies. I'm very suspicious of the two negative reviews from people who didn't use the company and have posted very few other reviews. read more

Horrible experience. Scheduled tech to come out for noise in wall we thought was a leak because it stopped when we turned off outside hose lever shutoff. Alex opened nearby sprinkler valves & determined it was just a valve not completely turned off, making the noise. 3 minutes, no repair $135! He seemed embarrassed, he knew it wasn't right charging that, saying it's the owners call. I called office to ask for a concession, something reasonable. The office gal was rude and deflecting, saying she has nothing to do with pricing. I mentioned that when scheduling no one ever mentioned $135. She said & I quote, "I do NOT offer the information unless asked". Incredible. Horrible customer service. I will never use Zech again! 100% better customer service with Bill Howe and Black Mountain, who are ethical, reasonable. read more

John from Zech came out today for a clogged drain issue on our sun deck. He diagnosed the problem immediately (common area roots in pipes). John was knowledgable and friendly. My neighbor recommended this company with good success and I have to agree, my experience with stellar. Called and spoke to a gentleman, I think who is also the owner named John and talked to him about something I needed repaired or replaced. He asked me to send him a picture of the item I was talking about so I texted it to him and he immediately came back with a very fair quote on repairing my master valve in my garage. Ironically, he had a cancellation in the area that I was in and sent over a technician within 30 minutes to repair my plumbing concerns. In November Zech Plumbing installed a new garbage disposal in my charcoal grey granite kitchen sink. Within a few days noticed a crack all the way through, top to bottom. When the sink is wet, you can't see a crack but after being gone for Thanksgiving and the sink dried out, I say a 3 inch crack coming out from the center where the disposal is located. I called Zech who sent the original installer out a couple of weeks later. He emphatically denied that he could not have possibly cracked the sink. I told him I was not satisfied with his denial and wanted to hear from his boss or company owner. It has now been TWO MONTHS and the boss apparently refuses to call me as I've yet to receive a call. I was able to have a stone company epoxy the crack from inside the sink and under the sink but the granite color had to be refinished to not show the crack. I feel that the owner is not responsive to my concerns, I have now paid almost $400.00 out of my pocket and have not had a call back. They can't prove they didn't do it. I have had this sink 12 years with no crack and a few days after the disposal was installed, the sink is cracked. I think it is not a coincedence. I liked the technician very much and I know "accidents happen" but the owner's total lack of empathy, taking responsibility and refusing to call me back is unacceptable and a terrible way to conduct business. I would expect that it would be worth it for Zech Plumbing to pay for the sink repair and call it a day. I'm not mad it happened but expect Zech Plumbing to take responsibility. You may want to seriously consider if you want to do business with this company. If something were to go wrong, you may find your complaints fall on deaf ears and you are stuck paying for something they deny happened. read more

They saved us thousands on an under-slab repair! The "other" guys were going to tear up our slab to fix the broken line. Zech's team came in and realized that they didn't need to cut into the slab. I have been looking for a plumber but after seeing one of Zech Plumbing's trucks, laden with no fewer than 3 vicious bumper stickers on the back of the truck, one of which referred to our President as an ass, about 30 minutes ago here in Escondido, I think I'll keep looking. I have to assume that they want only equally nasty people patronizing their business. Regardless of how they feel about the President or anyone else, riding around with such ugliness on their trucks is a glaring indicator of a not-very-professionally-run company. read more

I'm selling my house and the buyers request for repairs included fixing slow sink water flow, adding an air gap in the kitchen and replacing corrugated flexible fittings in the sink drain assembly. Zech inspected the dishwasher installation (which was done as part of a brand new kitchen remodel by Home Depot 4 years ago) and said the air gap was built into new dishwashers and no air gap was needed. He fixed the sink flow and replaced the drain assembly with proper to code fittings. Their price was reasonable and it saved me money not having to replace the air gap. read more
