The last two weeks were some of the worst working experiences I've had thus far. First, I was told that my pay for July would come at the end of August and that the pay for the first week of August would come at the end of September. Second, I was told that I would be doing all seven weeks of camp, I then reiterated my interest in doing seven weeks of camp and was one of the first to do so yet I was put to do six weeks much to my extreme displeasure and only being told so a few days before the start of the sixth week. This is especially so given that individuals who stated were doing six weeks ended up doing seven weeks. Third, I was told I was to be on a particular camp for the whole duration of camp and to which my prior experiences and background in addition to being a teaching assistant for the University of Toronto made me an especially strong fit. On the fifth week, I had been moved to a camp that I had lacked very little interest in but was enthusiastic to try and to which I was given the cold shoulder by other work colleagues as I was new and worked in a different building plus I recalled many work colleagues being very exclusive around me which I felt was insult to injury. I tried what I can but other work colleagues limited my involvement in addition to not being provided a clear understanding of what the various processes and modus operandum. I felt like I was not providing any value or was given any agency to do things in addition to being moved from something that I loved doing.

They don't allow multiple entries in a day. Since the place was not too big to stay long, so 3hrs were good enough. The price will be $15/adult, and kid over age 3 will need to pay. Sometimes there is discounted family tickets online. This is a good place for the younger kids to killing their energies.

The camp separates students to play together in beginners, intermediate, and advanced groups and they spend days 2 through 5 playing a game they get to create. The Power Soccer program is an excellent, well run, high value organization…read more Over the last couple of years, we have had both our kids attend a number of their weeklong summer day camp programs, and one child has been enrolled for the past two years in their yearlong academy program. We have been impressed with both. The summer camps - which run on a weekly basis - are well organized, coached by skilled and engaged coaches, and value adding in terms of skills. Not babysitting programs, the kids came back each day excited about the program and keen to return. The coaches expect engagement and commitment and the kids buy in. The Power organization is responsive and easy to deal with. The invitation-only academy program has been excellent. It is not an insignificant commitment. Our 10 year old practices three days a week and in season, plays a game also. We've been impressed with the well-oiled structure, the knowledge and empathy of the coaching staff, and the culture of civility and professionalism that Power FC imbues in both its students and their parents. For children of this age, the program is focused on skills development, and team games are not all about winning - they are an extension of the learning opportunity. As a result, the kids are focused on their own development, they are supportive and play well with each other, and no one - parents included - has too much at stake in any given game. Power expects the parents to be supportive but not coaching from the sidelines, and the difference between this quietly professional style and the 'tiger parent/coach' is often evident on the sidelines in our games. In our case, our child is one of two girls playing on what is otherwise a boys' team - sadly there are not enough girls to field a girls only team. She feels included and valued by both the coaching staff and her team members, and on rare occasions when they have played against girls teams, they have played kids a year older, and typically dominated. Seeing my daughter play in other forums with kids her age validates my perspective that the skills she is learning at Power are among the best available in the city.

The Pros: -The Director has really stepped back in overall Management and mellowed out a bit since I've known him to the benefit of the company. -The Recruitment Bonus program is great to bring your friends on. They don't need to be qualified & you get monetary compensation. -They provide the best outcome for kids, simply because their grading standards require more to pass. Creating stronger swimmers than the City and most other programs I've experienced. The Cons: -Jack of Sports is the least educated "Swim School" I've seen in the sense of most of the staff are not certified to teach swimming lessons nor have much if any first aid training. Management more commonly obtain even fewer qualifications in the courses that they oversee causing a noticeable disconnect. -I vehemently suggest to parents to check if your child's lifeguard is certified, Jack of Sports' Upper Management does not do an appropriate job of keeping track of staff certifications. They are unaware when or if staff are expired or need to renew. I have personally worked shifts here, with no certified Lifeguard on deck. -Management Organization needs improvement, this deeply ties into having too many uncertified and untrained Managers in the field they are overseeing. Their approach to bringing on new staff with little training themselves leads to poor hires. This extends into the classroom space where poor teaching styles lead to multiple required make up classes for students who fail. It was also reported to me that a JoS lifeguard used a Lysol wipe to clean a kids wound. It wouldn't be documented though, as I have not seen this company use an Incident report once. I hope the child is okay. -They often attempt to remove or cover up negative reviews about them from platforms like Google. When with them, I encouraged them to change the opinion of the reviews by showing quality service. Finding Google New Articles about their conduct is especially troubling. In my opinion, Jack of Sports could be the next "Toronto Lifeguarding"
