I've worked in many ESL schools and this is why English Lab Toronto is better than all of them: 1. We're a family. Classes are small so we quickly become close and comfortable with each other. Students build more confidence in their speaking skills because they're in an environment that promotes creativity and story telling. 2. The teachers are amazing. All course teachers and MCC teachers are unique, quirky and smart. We have painters, writers, musicians, scientists, book worms, filmmakers and journalists. Students have the pleasure of meeting Canadians from different walks of life who have different opinions but share a passion for teaching English. 3. We are the inventors of MEGA CONVERSATION CLUB. It's like speed dating without the awkward tension and starry-eyed desperation. Students spend one-on-one time with a teacher, discussing a particular topic. Every 20 minutes they rotate to a new teacher. It's great because students have to adapt to different pronunciation, pace and style. 4. BoReum: I definitely butchered his spelling, but he would forgive me anyway. BoReum is the family husky. He belongs to the directors but I like taking photos of him to pretend that he's mine. He casually snoops around the school's corridors and sometimes listens to my lectures. He also waits for your food to fall on the floor so he could devour it in one quick slip of the tongue. On some days he has a funky smell, but I love him dearly. 5. Job Interview Class and Writing Class: Okay, now I'm just shamelessly promoting my courses. But if you're an ESL student looking to improve your speaking and writing, then come on down and I will rock your world! They have their own unique programs which are completely different from those that regular schools offer. All these programs are made with regard to the psychology of learning and not only providing you English skills, but also other useful skills such as how to prepare for presentations, how to behave and present yourself during a job interview, and tonnes of other great knowledge. The TDSB Central Transcript Office is located on the 3rd floor at 140 Borough Drive in Scarborough. TDSB is a co-tenant in this building complex called the Scarborough Civic Centre. The City of Toronto is the other co-tenant which is listed as 150 Borough Drive. TDSB staff provide great customer service. They however require you to complete a records request either in person or through an online request. Submitting valid ID is a prerequisite as well as advance payment for the student transcript document(s). She seemed okay and I liked the school because it was an accredited Montessori. So I wanted to enrol my child as soon as possible. She told me that she will let me know if there was any available space for Jan. she told me to call a week after the interview and I did, she said she still doesn't know what's going on and to give her some more time so I gave her another week and called her and she said she still had no clue what was going on and she would call me as soon as she finds out. Anyways long story short, I had called her 4 times and left 2 messages she never returned any of my calls. Which I find is very UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE!! If you run a proper Montessori school which parents would like to enrol there children and pay you to teach them, wouldn't you at least have the common curtsey to call a parent back and let them know what's going on ? She never called me back. If she can't call you back on a simple yes or no answer that shows me she is not running a proper Montessori school that I would like to enrol my child in. So I definitely do not recommend this school for any parent. There are many out there and I would like to enrol my child in one where they care rather then not care!

My little guy especially enjoys the Down Hill Skiing and the Chess club, I like that he gets daily French and that he takes advantage of the French Clubs in the after school program. Parents can (voluntarily) help with trips and school outings (which provides a great opportunity to get to know the other kids and the teachers). But probably the most important thing is that the teachers care about the students and are committed to them.
