Dr. Haynie and his fabulous team of hygienists put me right at ease. It was the most calm, gentle and thorough cleaning I've ever had (in my 30 years of life). I've seen several hygienists in the office and they are all equally amazing. They are great at fitting you in for emergencies or last-minute concerns as well.

X rays were taken with a camera, the teeth cleaning was not much more than a regular toothbrush cleaning and the front office staff were unprofessional. I paid out of pocket to redo cleaning, x rays and exam with another dentist who offered the standard of care I am used to shortly after this visit.

The oral hygienist didn't appear to know what she was doing. I sat down in the chair and she brushed and flossed my teeth as normal. The dentist then came in and looked at my teeth for all of about 7 seconds and said "you have very good oral hygiene" and left. The hygienist then said "ok, you're good to go!" Except I wasn't good to go, because neither of them scraped any of the plaque off my teeth (which is a very standard part of a regular cleaning). I literally had to ask the hygienist to do this, and she went to get the dentist who rushed in, picked two of my bottom teeth in about 30 seconds, and then said I was good to go. I know that I had more than that (I always do), but they clearly just wanted to usher me out the door ASAP. Side note: the place is dingy. Missing ceiling tiles, outdated equipment, generally sketchy feeling. Pair that with horrendous service and I will never return. I will explicitly tell others to avoid them as well.

I will start by saying the medical team I interacted with was amazing. They billed the wrong…read moreinsurance (one given to them last year, before I was even a patient), and I paid much more out of pocket than I should have. This was an administrative issue, but how it was handled is where I became frustrated. On March 26th, they said they would bill the correct insurance. I checked my insurance portal to make sure the claim was registered for 3 weeks, and never saw it populate. I reached back out on April 16th to check on the status because I didn't see it on the insurance side at all. In an email correspondence on April 16th, I was told that they billed the correct insurance on March 26th, but that she would resubmit it to make sure. Coincidentally, I finally saw the claim registered on the portal and then received the EOB in the mail on April 29th. I emailed them on the 29th to let them know that I received my copy of the EOB and asked for the timeline and process of getting a refund for the overpayment. I did not hear back. I emailed again on May 5th to follow up -- again, no reply. I called on May 6th, and as told, everything was still pending. I let the lady know that I am showing that payment was issued. She said their insurance person would review and call me back the next day. I waited all day, the next day, and again ... no call back. I called them at 1pm to follow up because I knew they closed soon, and was told the insurance person went to run an errand and would be back within an hour. I waited by the phone for 2 hours until their closing time to receive the phone call, and you guessed it ... no phone call again. It wasn't until I reached out to my dental insurance company to help with my money being held with no response from Tolley. I finally was able to get assistance and speak with a manager. There was little to no accountability, and I was told repeatedly that they ignored my requests for calls/emails because they had no information to share. Communication was the root of this issue and continued to perpetuate it throughout the past month. They continued to stand by their reasoning of not answering my emails/calls. I am disappointed as I changed my insurance specifically to become a patient here, and while the medical team was phenomenal, the front desk team and leadership of the practice is lacking basic customer service skills.

When I asked about a fluoride treatment, the staff member couldn't explain what it was. " I think its a sealant" The cleaning itself was very brief, about seven minutes total and they were unable to floss my teeth, advising me to "just floss at home." When I later requested my records to transfer to my previous dentist, there was confusion between locations. I was told they were sent but when I called two days later I was told that I was not a patient at that location and she listed male patients with my last name... Im female and she probably shouldn't tell me that info. I called the correct location and was advised I may get a call back on her personal number because the phones were acting up and she wanted to throw them against the wall. Overall, the visit felt disorganized and unprofessional, and I chose to return to my previous provider.

The lower cracked on Dec and Aspen reloaded it quickly (within an hour). The lower broke again yesterday and again they repaired it in a hour after evaluation. They also have ordered a spare / replacement be made, no charge. I have not had the negative experience that some have posted but anything is possible. Perhaps personnel changes have made a difference; their facility replaced the former Ruby Tuesday location a few years ago. I found the staff at Aspen personable and responsive, a far cry from other experiences with others in the past (not local to Winchester). I do highly recommend them.
