I was quoted an estimated $540.66 to upgrade my laptop's RAM and SSD. While I am fully aware that computer part prices have skyrocketed because of AI, charging $179 for a stick of 16GB DDR4 RAM and $176.66 for a 512GB SSD is pretty extreme. The only thing that is reasonable is the labor fees since a Micro Center store would charge about the same for a RAM upgrade and changing out an SSD. However, the cost estimate costing more than what my device costs seems predatory. I would have just bought a new computer for $540. I took my device to another shop called Wizfix Computers to get another quote, and the owner of WizFix said that $540 for the same upgrades is a gross overcharge. I was only charged $345 at WizFix ($225 for the same parts plus tax, $120 for labor). And as a bonus, the OS was upgraded to Windows 11. Device has been running well after the upgrades. I would have been overcharged nearly $200 if I chose Ross Tech. Trying to take advantage of someone like this to make extra money is very unethical and bad business.

The screen would randomly go black, it lagged like crazy, and some of my games just wouldn't run right. After dealing with that for almost a year, I finally decided to have it looked at. I had taken it to another shop once before for a different issue, but they kept my PC for over a week and honestly, I don't think they diagnosed it properly--because the hot chocolate mess was never addressed, and the problems continued. This time, I found Fix My PC, and I'm so glad I did. The gentleman there was super kind and clearly knew what he was doing. The shop is small, but don't let that fool you--he's sharp. After a proper diagnosis, he found the issue: the video card had been damaged from the spill. He cleaned it out thoroughly and replaced the card--and had it all done in just 3 days! I couldn't believe it. Fast, accurate, and no upselling or runaround. Compared to the last place, which took a week just to figure things out and more time to change a part, Fix My PC was a breath of fresh air. Highly recommend! I would highly consider taking your digital design projects elsewhere. The owner of this company, Davey Duarte is a passive aggressive, argumentative individual that is not an expert in the field. There are a lot of companies that claim to be 'marketing' agencies, but I would consider going to an agency where you can get measurable results. The work they provide, in my opinion, is sub-standard to best web practices in 2020. As an expert in the industry, I would be concerned with the time, quality and business relationship with Zeal Creative Group. It certainly is not an agency I want to be associated with.
