This outfit deserves ZERO STARS.
After dealing with this guy, DAVEY DUARTE, Executive Creative Director of Zeal, I now know why this company has no positive reviews. They are totally unprofessional and flakes. They make you, the paying customer, feel like crap and that you're unimportant to them and they insult you.
My company posted a work for hire job online. Davey responded. We told him the rate and that we needed to do a Net 30 - he agreed to both and we sent him over a contract. Then when we were going to get things going he replies by text:
"I'm sorry man I just picked up 6 clients since Monday. I won't be able to help for another month."
This text was after he agreed to do the job and sign the contract. I told him this was unprofessional and that had he been responsive to us I was going to refer him to a big furniture company for more business. He then texts back and berates me!
Ever step of the way my business partner and I have felt like just a number to Davey. He couldn't recall our previous phone conversations cause in his words he said, "I talk to like 10 people a day..." Well I talk to 20 people but I can still remember conversations.
Then when we agreed to a phone conversation at a specific time and I call him he tells me that he's out having dinner with family.
Finally after flaking on doing the job he insults me for being a hypocrite in a text and is completely egotistic and self-centered (which is no way to win new clients bro):
"...I have a wife and 2 kids, I have bills. I'm in demand, u can't expect me to make u a priority if ur not gonna pay. I have $5,000 jobs and I make those clients a priority... I'm artist just as u are. U gotta pay up to stay up or you're not gonna get quality. That's the truth. Best."
Those were Davey's words via text to me. You get the picture now? So basically he agreed to a rate by answering a job ad online, he agreed to the 30-day net and then flaked so that he could get more money elsewhere and is now berating the perspective new client and calling names. If you're going to go back on your word to us after agreeing to mutual terms then don't answer ads that state so, clear as day, Mr. "Artist"!
To insult a customer after to agreeing to a payment contract is deplorable. This is horrible customer service coming from someone that runs a web company. His attitude, language and lack of follow-through are atrocious. Please stay clear of these bozos. He also has another site: http://www.daveyduarte.com/ read more
