Fried chicken on a fresh Cobb salad, what's not to like. Good portion size. Reasonable price.

We stopped by for some lunch. We walked up to the counter and waited a minute and we placed our order, the service was okay. Not much interaction with the staff. We received our food and sat at a table in the clean dining area. The food was good. The sandwiches were decent except for my bun which looked like it was wiped with grease. I had ordered fries without salt and my wife had not. Her fries were extremely salty, highly recommend getting the fries with no seasoning! Finally we had the cheese cake bites. These were pretty good, they did taste like they were sitting for a bit but still overall decent. Overall I thought the visit was okay, maybe the interactions and quality could improve a bit. read more

This was the worst food I've had in a long time, food was cold and hard, 4 of us got different things and couldn't even eat probably a 4th of it! I could understand if they were busy but we were literally the only people there. I watched the cook put it on the counter and walked up there and got my food and it was so cold all of it I couldn't even eat my cheese balls they were soaked in grease and hard as a rock even the cheese! Had been a regular at Zaxby's in Warrensburg since it opened. Went there today through the drive thru. Ordered my regular 20 fingers and a coleslaw. Didn't pay attention to the price. Got to the window and the total was $31.62. I looked at the receipt and the fingers were $27.79. That means each finger cost $1.39. Not only is the price hike a reason I won't be coming back, but the food itself is also a reason. The size of the fingers was noticeably smaller than previous times I ordered there. These fingers were small. If you are going to raise the price by almost $8 make sure you keep the food the same. read more

after ordering and being told to drive to an open space and wait, I watched several cars drive off until it was just me. when I went in and asked about it they just said we will make it. I'm assuming it was the manager that stated the order was already made and sent out. When I stated that I did not receive my order, she began asking who took it out and was more worried about making sure the $43 order came out of their check than compensating the customer in any way. I personally have no complaints, but my wife has Celiac (can't eat gluten) and asked for a Grilled Chicken Salad without croutons. When the food was brought out to us, we saw that it had croutons and we kindly asked to have a new salad as she will get sick eating it. They immediately took it back, and brought a new salad, which was nice. But after she started eating the salad she immediately started getting sick and noticed that there were still croutons and crouton crumbs in the salad. We believe that they picked the exposed croutons out of the salad and gave it back us... Besides the food allergen incident, this restaurant is clean and seems friendly. The chicken is much better than any recent KFC I've had but is also priced accordingly, meaning it is more expensive. It's nice to see food places like this coming to the burg. However, I still give it only two stars due to no one taking our food requests seriously. I would highly caution anyone with food allergies to clearly announce them to the staff or stay clear all together. tl;dr Zaxby's glutened my wife with a smile on their face. The first time we visited the chicken was delicious. Second visit Saturday March 11th the 20 piece chicken fingers was all horribly overcooked. We got it to-go because of the smokey overcrowded restaurant so didn't get to exchange it. My husband and I had previously had club sandwiches and sliders that were delicious. The chicken is just OK when it is overcooked. It was the darkest you can get it without calling it burnt. Shriveled up and not juicy like the first visit. Edible, but, we live 20 miles away near Knob Noster or would have called the restaurant and returned it. The smoke in the building was intolerable so we did not eat inside. They may need a better vent or something in the kitchen. The Zax Sauce is really good and perfect compliment to the chicken on both strips or sliders. The prices would be fair if you got the quality that you paid for. read more

Never had Zaxby's before. Always heard it was good, but pricey. Finally tried it tonight with the family. The place itself was clean (it is brand new), staff was ok, and the food tasted pretty average. Nothing to write home about, but not bad at all either. The price seemed to pretty on par for the amount of food you get too. I do have some issues though. It's 1st strike is the $0.25 for extra sauce signs all over the place. I get it, you don't want to just give someone a big handful of dipping sauces, but 1 or 2 extras should be free. Paying for extra dipping sauce in a chicken strip/wing place is a little ridiculous. It's like charging for more than 1 little ladle of dressing at a salad bar. The 2nd strike was the chicken strips themselves. I've had chicken McNuggets bigger than a couple of the "strips" we had on our plates. They were all pretty tiny overall. The 3rd strike was the lack of wet wipes/moist towels. To be fair, I didn't ask someone at the counter if they had some (they were super busy), regardless...if you do offer them, please put them out on the counter next to the other napkins, or on the tables. You do serve chicken wings after all.....unless you charge a quarter a piece for them too. I'm not going to write off Zaxby's by any means, but I'm not going to be in any hurry to go back. read more

The restaurant was clean when we first came in. We used the restrooms here and they were very clean and kept up as well. The food was good for something fast and easy and the wings weren't too bad themselves- good flavor. The people were pleasant and easy to order with. They bring the food to your table. The manager even came over and put the shade down for us without even being asked. I wouldn't make a special trip to eat here but I would definitely stop again. I was worried after reading the review about gluten. My daughter has celiac but we opted to give it a try. Could not have been a better experience. They went above and beyond and did everything they could to make sure her food was safe! Definitely made me very happy. I didn't love it, but my daughter did.
