This is the WORST zaxbys ever. Placed a mobile app order of $42. I got a confirmation email stating that my food will be ready in 15 mins. Waited almost an hour. Tried to cancel my order and couldn't do it. Called the 1800 number and was told they would give me a refund. Still no refund so I called back and was told I was supposed to call the actual store. I called the store and Krystal lied and said she's unable to unless I go to the store. This was not my usual location and it's over 30 mins one way. Today, I was racially discriminated against at Zaxby's in Travelers Rest, SC! Instead of waiting in a long drive-thru line, I decided to go inside the restaurant to order my food. I placed and paid for my order at 1:35pm. I only ordered one regular chicken sandwich (no meal, no drink) - and sat down at table located in the front of the register. After patiently waiting for 15 minutes, I reminded the cashier, Aurora B., that I had not received my sandwich and that people who ordered after me have received multiple meals. Aurora B. proceeds to tell the kitchen staff and informs me the reason I have not received one chicken sandwich was because they didn't have any made. I replied, "Okay", and continued to wait. After noticing an empty drive through line and groups of people receiving multiple orders, I knew something was not right... At 2:07pm, I still did not have a sandwich that I paid for. I asked for a refund and to speak with the manager. The manager refused to address the issue and refused to give me their contact information to speak about my concerns by phone. Aurora B. told me I did not have my sandwich because they are "very busy - and did not have sandwiches ready. I am sorry." Literally, her words after watching me wait over 30 minutes. Keep in mind, at least ten (10) orders were served after me - not including the long drive-thru line, that was empty when I left the restaurant. I was racially discriminated against at Zaxby's in Travelers Rest, SC because I was the only non-white customer in the building and the only one who had to wait over 30 minutes for their food. Even after waiting over 30 minutes, the restaurant refused to serve me and the manager refused to address the issue and my concerns. I politely accepted my refund and told Aurora B. to have a nice day! Then, I drove to another Zaxby's location at Cherrydale. I placed the same order and was served within 2 minutes. I informed two employees of my experience at the Zaxby's in TR. They were both shocked and apologized for the horrible customer service. The manager at the Cherrydale location stated that even on their busiest days, it will not take over 30 minutes to receive one sandwich. My advice to any non-white person, DO NOT give your time or money to the Zaxby's in Travelers Rest, SC. They are RACIST! Corporate will know about this experience as well as the local news station. There is ALWAYS an issue with our order each time we go to this Zaxby's. From not receiving the extra sauces we paid for to ordering cheese curds that are almost $5 then getting two cookies worth $2. (Besides the price difference, these aren't even the same type of food guys...) And a couple of times, we simply just don't receive our side item at all! Ordered 1/2 wet 1/2 naked wing & tender platter for the game. We're all the wings wet yes, but delicious. The garlic Buffalo is packed with flavor and not burn your mouth with heat. I was late to pick up but called hem to let them know I was coming to pick it up. Super friendly on the phone and in person. Today I placed an order with the APP and arrived when it told me to expect the food to be ready. Upon arrival I called the restaurant to let them know I had arrived and which parking spot I was in. We had a catering order which I placed via phone as the Zaxby's website still shows items that are not available. I was not told that they did not supply serving utensils, eating utensils, plates etc. This was a catering order! How are people expected to eat coleslaw without a fork or spoon? This is the second time we tried catering with the location. The first time when I went to pick it up, they didn't have gallon jugs for the tea so I had to wait while someone went to buy it at Walmart. (Long before Covid so that can not be used as an excuse) If they do not supply the necessary items you need so you can enjoy your meal they should inform you when the order is placed. If that was the case the food would have been warm when served not cold because we had to go buy plates etc. I forgot to add that I called and spoke with John, the Manager. First of all, you have to call to get them to bring it to you, as there is nothing in the app for them to know who you are, what you're driving, or that you even ordered curbside. If I could give this Zaxby's zero stars, I would. They have teenagers working all the time who are disrespectful and don't care how long you wait for your food, or to even place your order. My husband and I pulled into the drive thru at 6:40pm and didn't get to place our order until 7:10. This was my first time ordering online with curbside pickup. The ordering process was easy and provided a time my food would be ready. I arrived at the location and called the pick up number just to be told I would have to wait in the drive through to get my food because they are short staffed. The drive through line was long and I ended up waiting another 18 minutes to get to the window just to find out they did not have my food ready. I was asked to pull up to the front curb and they would bring it out to me. I ended up waiting a total of 28 minutes after my order was promised to be ready. My family and I eat here at least once every other week. The food is always prompt and well prepared. We love their Buffalo Chicken Fingers and usually order some wimpy and some tongue torch. The spice level tends to vary quite a bit, but that just adds to the experience.
