I've always wanted to try Zaxby's in Hamilton County but I haven't gotten around to it, so we decided to try it while on the road. The tenders were juicy, the fries were well seasoned, the toast was crisp and I even liked the Zaxby' house sauce. It was creamy and kind of sweet. The store we went to had a drive through and I know our local one also has a drive through. I will definitely give it a try to see if the quality is the same in all the states. read more

Poorly managed, if at all. Incredibly under-staffed up-front. They needed 3 people up-front and only had two. One employee was on drive-through, the other one was bagging all orders and occasionally taking orders at the counter. The employees seem to work hard, but not smartly. Sweet and Un-Sweet Tea dispensers were both empty. Standard Coca-Cola was flat, due to no carbonation. The ice machine was out. Instead of taking 10 minutes to replace those items up-front, they were constantly interrupted by customers needing ice, refills etc. in the restaurant. This contributed to extremely long lines up-front, which never decreased. They seem to work at a steady speed, but not quickly, because of this. They were obviously focused on the drive-through and not the customers inside the store. There didn't appear to be any employees over 20 years old, based on what I saw. They laughed and made inside jokes, while customers were growing increasingly frustrated. I overheard one employee say that there was only one employee present that morning. I heard another say that Chicken hadn't been ordered for the following day. I've heard this same story for years about this location and it never gets better. For God's sake, put in a competent manager, reward the hard workers and fire the slow, incompetent ones. Pay more if you have to and staff this place adequately. If you can't do that, just close it down. Look at all of the negative reviews for this place! There is a reason. Zaxby's Corporate: Where are you? the service was horrible! we waited over 35 minutes for 1 meal, 1 sandwich, & 2 kids meals. there was no ice. a ton of people and I mean like 20+ came in and got their food first before our order. there was no apologies for the wait at all. the food was mediocre . my husband paid over $9 of a sandwich that the piece of chicken looked like a piece of a chicken nugget. this place is horrible! horrible service. mediocre food and overall just not recommended. read more

Ordered Kickin Sandwich to go. When I got in my car my bread was swimming on the sauce. There was no way I could try to hold the meal as a sandwitch. For some reason it is impossibly difficult to ask someone to sprinkle extra seasoning on your hot fresh fries. I even called corporate once to see if there was a policy and there isn't; when I worked there the seasoning can would get clogged from not being cleaned and wouldn't actually season. So, every time I go through and the fries have no seasoning I assume they don't wash their dishes well. Most of the time, as I said, the fries have no seasoning, food isn't fresh or even warm. They often close up early for no reason it seems and most people in the area recognize that so they lose business and then close up earlier. They don't care if they messed up your entire order and it was complete trash, they will never offer you a comp'd meal for your troubles. Only get good food if you get it for here and sit down because they know they can't hide from that. Update: I have returned to this Zaxby's and had a much better experience. Food is too salty. This location consistently forgets to include parts of our order, especially sauces. I used to love their club sandwich on Texas toast, but they got rid of it and replaced it with one exactly like Chick-fil-A's sandwich, but not nearly as good. I would give zero stars if I could. In the age of the corona virus, we decided to order at the drive through and take our food home to eat. When I sat down with my grilled chicken salad at home, the chicken breast was not only burnt, it had been turned into leather. Couldn't cut it with a knife. Zaxby's food is ALWAYS consistent. No matter what i order here or at any zaxby's the food is always good. During this encounter i had the buffalo blue chicken zalad with their lite vinaigrette and my fiancé had their 5 piece chicken finger plate with fries and extra sauce, and a chocolate chip cookie. Everything was delicious. The buffalo sauce on the chicken was to die for and i barely needed any dressing. One thing we are sad about is that they are no longer serving the banana pudding milkshake. That monster was full of sugar and calories but was a favorite of my fiancé and i when we do get to get it. That was a bummer but besides this sad note we enjoyed everything else. I have eaten at this Zaxby's several time since they opened last year. The service and food has always been great. The employees are courteous and helpful. Zaxby's has been and continues to be a great alternative to other fast food places in town that are not kept as clean and regularly get orders wrong. The food can take a little longer, but I would rather wait a few minutes for freshly cooked food than get something that has been sitting under a heat lamp. The restaurant is in a newly developed area with new roads. There is one exit that is "right turn in and right turn out" only, but there are signs directing you to another exit where you can turn left to get back to the interstate. read more

Whoever was working last night needs a different job, perhaps not one at all. The interaction started with a rude girl in the drive thru cutting my boyfriend off every 2 seconds saying "what else? What else?" It was ridiculous. Then at the window I double checked my order was right because the woman taking my order didn't ask any questions and sure enough when I get my salad (supposed to have chicken tossed in original sauce) there was a pile of hot sauce in the corner of my already horrible looking salad. Never been to Zaxby before and never will again. Pulled up. Loads of cars in drive thru but that is fine. Not open inside so I understand. I get to the speaker and order a TLC meal with large coke. Told no large cups only medium. Ok fine I just get it with light ice. Get up to the window and get my food and drink and drive off. Put the straw in and take a sip and it is a diet coke. Can't have the fake sugar so even tho it takes forever due to the construction (I think this was counted on that people just don't come back) I turn around anyway to get the correct coke. I get back and there are about 8 cars lined up for the drive thru. I pull up and walk over to the window since the inside is closed. Kristen is there again. I say "This is diet. I ordered regular coke". I was thinking it would just be a quick hand over of a fresh coke. She says "We are out of regular coke" I told her she should have told me that because I can't drink the fake sugars they give me headaches. I tell her I want a refund. Then I stand there for about 7 mins talking to the next cx in line waiting for my refund. She comes back and says it will be a while. Really? My food is getting cold. I tell her that. She tells me give it back and she will refund that. I walk over to my car and a big truck pulls up and I can't get to the window. I go and knock on the door. I thought she would just come to the door and take my food. Nope. Ignores me. I knock harder. Nope definitely being ignored. I call. No one picks up the phone. Really?! So I have to wait for a car to be away from the window to walk back up and give her my food. Then I stand there and wait. By this time I am getting pretty upset. A guy comes to the window and give me cash. I don't want the cash. I want it reversed on my card. I don't know where this cash has been. Nope says the computers aren't working now. I ask for the manager. Wait another over 5 mins. I know I am holding up the drive thru but nothing I can do when they won't come to the door or answer the phone. Finally Kristen comes back to the window to tell me she is the manager. I say I want the manager above her then. I want their number. Kristen closes the window. Another several minutes wait and then she creates a receipt from the register and tells me to just do a survey. 33 minutes I wasted and for the couple of people that got mad and pulled away, I am sorry but going up to the window or walking away without my food and them keeping my money was my only choice. If Kristen is a manager, that does not speak well for Zaxbys or how they do business. Now I have to wait out 14 days and hope she didn't give me the virus. read more

Won't be coming to this location after horrible service, not from an employee but the manager. One of the employees made a mistake with my order (which was fine, I understand it happens) and I called to see if I could come back and get it fixed. When I got there, the manager seemed sloppy and careless and I was worried my order would get messed up again. Another employee walked over and asked, "did we mess up?" I felt awkward and said "yes, but it's fine." The manager looked at him and said no, it was my fault my order was wrong, and what i should have said instead. I know what I said. I didn't know if I heard that correctly so I took my corrected order and left. When I got home, I told my boyfriend and he called to speak to the manager and she argued with him about why it was my fault. I've never experienced such awful customer service in my life. read more
