Zaxby's is hands down my favorite spot for fried chicken combos, so I post this critique in the hopes and expectation that this location can live up to the Zaxby's standards. I was disappointed and surprised that the sweet tea had a bit of a "medicine" taste, the Texas toast was a little burned, and the fries a little overcooked (see accompanying picture) and too much salt. At least the chicken tenders met expectations for unadulterated deliciousness (although a tad on the salty side). I was disappointed by the small number of fries but that's today's inflation at work! Worst Zensation Zalad I ever had. Hubby wouldn't even touch it. The (little bit of) lettuce was literally drowned in Asian sauce. My first clue was, there was no one in the line. There were more ppl in the kitchen (standing around, laughing and having a good time), than in line or in the actual store. Went in to take the family to eat and ended up leaving before ordering as I watched the cook dig in his mouth and nose. That's just beyond disgusting and not food safe at all. This location really needs to do better and start enforcing proper food handling. Health department will sure get a call in the morning because I'm sure there is more that need to be seen. I had a perfectly good experience here last week and wanted to share, because the reviews have been roundly negative. This location suffers from a location that's tricky getting in and out of, but that just is what it is. There was a long line when I arrived, but it moved quickly enough. Drive-through service was friendly, my order was correct, and it looked better than the pics people have been posting of their finished plates! They insisted my order was right & that I didn't have to check it (it was a large order). Then, they said I couldn't pay in cash - I had to pay with my card because the register was down (didn't make any sense to me). I brought my order home. Of course, I'm 20 wings short. Called them. I have to make the 15 minute (each way) drive because I either have to pick up my wings (they don't do delivery no matter what) and they can't refund me unless I go in. Nice. I asked to speak to a manager & was told he was too busy to talk to an unhappy customer on the phone. I initially have them 3 stars despite how gross the place was. But this, just wow. I stopped to grab a quick bite with my sons. I'm a review checker and 1.5 stars initially made me want to pass this one. I was pleasantly surprised by the alertness and cheerful customer service I was greeted with. This has by far been my best experience at a Zaxby's location. One star because I can't go lower. The time before tonight, I complained because my cob salad (Zalad?) didn't have toast or eggs. Tonight I got some lettuce, cucumbers and fried onion thingys and no egg, bacon or, check this shit out, no chicken. In all fairness, there were a couple of crumbs but not what I expected or have gotten at other locations. Save your money and frustration and find another location. I could have walked my happy ass into kitchen and cut a slice of white bread into triangles before I thought toast was supposed to be more than plain bread. I have ONLY returned because they have a cute assistant manager but I would love to know if she has a brain or just can't do anything with the local hoodlums. I wish I would have looked at the reviews before we stopped in. This is indeed the worst Zaxby's anywhere we have ever eaten. Manager with long dreadlocks around the food and no hair net. Amber the cashier seemed to be the only one working at this location. Bathrooms are filthy, whole place is filthy, not sure how they have a license to run this place. Such a great Zaxby's! The speaker box made it hard for the worker to hear me so they forgot my to toss my fingers in sauce, but I went back in and they were so happy to fix it! I asked for a 6 finger chicken finger plate, I really wish I had taken a picture before throwing it always it was nasty and they gave me 3 fingers. I also asked them for a kiddie cheese and they charged me for it but when I get home I notice it's not there. I've been to this location many times over the course of years and they just can't do anything right. Every couple of months I go back to give them another shot but I can't go back anymore. Okay first off, the food at Zaxby's is AMAZINGGG! I would love to eat here on a weekly basis. So you might be wondering, why did I give it three stars? I have literally been here twenty times, and the staff that operates the drive-thru needs to go back to training or start over. The line is incredibly slow and it's inevitable that they're going to screw up your order. My mom has asked for Diet Coke, but always ALWAYS gets regular Coke. Thank god that she's not diabetic! This is after we say specifically "this needs to be on this meal and not the other". We're not doing it to be a pain in the neck, but rather for some dietary reasons. Zaxby's is best known for their chicken strips and sauce (zax sauce). I have been a Zaxby's fan for some time. Zaxby is basically a fast food establishment although they may consider themselves a little more. This location is the oldest looking Zaxby's I have ever been in. The decor is dated and in much need of a remodel. Food was as good as any other Zaxby's and the staff was friendly. I would not think twice about a repeat visit when in the mood for some chicken strips. read more
