Fried cheese
Jess M.

First visit to any Zaxby's location today. The spicy fried mushrooms are really good! They sounded interesting so we decided to try and they were great. We did pay 75 cents for 3 sauces which we never received. Like a lot of the reviews said, you pay for the sauces and never get them. They are right. That's pretty annoying when they charge you per sauce... the spicy Zax chicken sandwich was really good. I am glad I got that to try. The fried cheese was really good too. They were nice and crispy even after the drive home. The fries could have used a tad more seasoning but were good. The staff was friendly, nice and efficient. We will probably come back when we need a chicken sammich fix !!

Back at it again. Let's see if I get tomatoe pieces again on an $8 Sandwich?

In a city known for its Southern charm, mountain views, and deep-rooted sense of community,…read moreKnoxville, Tennessee has no shortage of good food. From barbecue joints to upscale dining, the city offers a wide range of flavors that reflect both tradition and creativity. Yet among all these options, there is one place that quietly stands above the rest for those lucky enough to discover it: Lunchbox Food. More than just a place to eat, Lunchbox Food is a true hidden gem, offering the best hamburgers in Knoxville paired with customer service that is unmatched anywhere around. What immediately sets Lunchbox Food apart is the quality of its food, especially its hamburgers. In a world where many restaurants rely on frozen patties or shortcuts, Lunchbox Food does the opposite. Their burgers are crafted with care, cooked to perfection, and bursting with flavor in every bite. The meat is juicy, well-seasoned, and clearly made with pride. Each burger feels intentional, as if the people behind the grill truly care about delivering the best possible experience to every customer. From the first bite to the last, it is clear that these are not just good burgers--they are exceptional. The toppings and buns only elevate the experience further. Everything complements the burger rather than overpowering it. The bun is soft yet sturdy, holding everything together without falling apart, while the toppings are fresh and thoughtfully chosen. Whether someone prefers a classic cheeseburger or something a little more adventurous, Lunchbox Food consistently delivers a burger that feels both comforting and exciting. It is the kind of food that reminds you why hamburgers are such a beloved staple in American cuisine. However, what truly makes Lunchbox Food special is that it is not just about the food--it is about the people. The customer service at Lunchbox Food is, without question, some of the best anywhere in Knoxville. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with genuine warmth and friendliness. This is not forced or scripted service; it is real, human connection. The staff takes the time to make customers feel welcome, remembered, and appreciated. In a fast-paced world where many interactions feel rushed, Lunchbox Food offers something refreshing: kindness and attention. The employees clearly take pride in their work, and it shows in every interaction. Orders are handled with care, questions are answered patiently, and there is always a sense that the staff wants you to enjoy your meal and your time there. This level of service turns a simple lunch into an experience. People do not just come back for the burgers--they come back because they feel valued. Lunchbox Food also represents something deeper about Knoxville itself. It embodies the spirit of local businesses that thrive on community support and word-of-mouth rather than flashy advertising. It is the kind of place you hear about from a friend who says, "You have to try this place," and once you do, you understand why. That sense of discovery makes it even more special. Finding Lunchbox Food feels like uncovering a secret that you want to share but also keep close. There is something deeply comforting about knowing that a place like Lunchbox Food exists. In a time when many restaurants feel generic or interchangeable, Lunchbox Food stands out by being authentic. It does not try to be something it is not. Instead, it focuses on doing a few things extremely well: making incredible food and treating people right. That simplicity is part of its magic. The atmosphere adds to the charm as well. Lunchbox Food feels welcoming and relaxed, a place where anyone can walk in and feel at home. Whether you are stopping by on a lunch break, grabbing a bite with friends, or picking up food to go, the experience remains consistent and satisfying. It is dependable in the best way possible. Calling Lunchbox Food a hidden gem is not an exaggeration. It truly deserves far more recognition than it receives, yet there is something special about its understated reputation. Those who know, know. It is the kind of place that builds loyal customers who return again and again, not out of habit, but out of genuine appreciation. In the end, Lunchbox Food is amazing because it gets everything right. The hamburgers are the best in Knoxville--flavorful, satisfying, and unforgettable. The customer service is second to none, rooted in kindness and genuine care. And the overall experience feels personal, authentic, and deeply connected to the community it serves. Lunchbox Food is not just a restaurant; it is a reminder of how powerful good food and good people can be. In Knoxville, Tennessee, it stands as a shining example of why hidden gems are often the most meaningful places of all.

Hummus Republic is a bit of a mixed experience. **The…read morepositive -- hummus is above average and tastes freshly made; roast eggplant is good; spice/flavor is decent. **Negative -- minimal meat; only a tiny piece of eggplant (despite an upcharge); lemon chicken was cold and not very tasy. My order was UberEats. So, I cannot comment on the restaurant experience or ambiance. But, as far as food goes, I put this in the average category. If you happen to be near there and want this style of food (and nothing better is around), it's passable. But, it doesn't reach the great category and it is not as good as CAVA (which seems very similar). Overall: Worth a try. But, don't rush out to it. I recommend they improve the quality of the meats and have better portions if someone orders the roast eggplant.

Store was clean and modern. Portions were HUGE!!! The only thing I didn't like was not being able to see my food under all the sauce. This is not their fault, I had no clue this was how they did their entrees or I would have asked for it on the side. Also not their fault I've got food sensory issues. Next time I'll simply ask for sauce on the side so I can see my food more distinctly when I'm eating it. It was a very good experience Looking forward to returning.

Amazing Chef / Owner - AVI ZENATTI If there was a 7 star…read moreoption, I would gladly give it and it would be GENUINE 7 star rating. Not only was the restaurant service great but the Owner / Chef AVI came to our table where 6 of us were seated for Dinner and spent time talking to us. When I told him we would love family style and some Vegeterian choices since 3 of our group were vegetarians so we will let you decide what to serve. First came the Vegeterian food - all very good but the Tomato Salad , Falafel and Shakshuka were outstanding which is an understatement. We are not big eaters but AVI insisted we try his selections and HE WAS PERSONALLY COOKING FOR US ! The next was Chicken Kebob platter really unbelievably tasty and we told them to stop since we were full but Avi's hospitality knew no bounds. The Fish ( Cod) melted in your mouth as did the LAMB CHOPS - I love eating out but have not experienced Mediterrean cuisine that good. Go try this place and you will truly enjoy the food. Thank you AVI ZENATTI

A couple years ago we had KoPita on a food tour and really enjoyed it, so we decided to make a…read morereservation for Valentine's Day. When we made a reservation on the website there was no mention of a pre fixe menu. Not on the website, and not with the reservation. We went intending to get light appetizers, but when we arrived we were told that the only option was a 55 dollar per person menu. While we were annoyed by the bait and switch we decided to stay because there was no chance of getting a table anywhere else. I'll start by saying that I Know that Valentine's Day is historically very busy, but over half the tables in the restaurant were empty, and I've been in significantly busier environments where I still received a high level of service. In this instance, saying that we were dismissed by the staff was an understatement. My wife was sat while I was parking, and when I joined her I wasn't even acknowledged by the staff. We asked one question the server who was dropping off the food snapped at us and acted extremely irritated that we even addressed her while she dropped the food off. We asked for tea because we knew that was one of their specialties. The response that was snapped back was "no tea tonight, if you want drinks go pay at the bar, it's separate." The table beside us seemed to clearly be VIPs as the were in fact served several pots of tea. All in all the staff made us feel like we were an inconvenience and they didn't want us to be in the restaurant. The exception was a very nice server wearing a light colored dress, she was very kind, which only made everyone else's disdain all the more evident by contrast. The food itself was just ok. Course 1: salads, it had fruit and fresh vegetables. It was excellent. Course 2: zucchini and eggplant with beef. It was well cooked but the sauce was extremely bland. Course 3: chicken stuffed with liver. This was gross, not even edible. Course 4: leg of lamb with rice. Once again the meat was well prepared, but it here was almost no seasoning. The rice that came with it was undercooked and kinda tough. Course 5: It was listed as braised beef brisket, but it was just an unseasoned pot roast. I expected Mediterranean food to be presented with a significantly more interesting range of flavor profiles. Course 6: Baklava, really great! The layers were crisp and the flavor was smooth. All that to say, it wasn't anywhere near worth the cost, I went for a light dinner and only had the option of buying a heavy 6 course menu. Other tables were given service and we were treated as an annoyance. The location was very convenient, so they have that going for them... which is nice.

Haven't had pastrami in a while so I had to order the Pastrami Reuben and the presentation was great with how it was stacked! Between the sauce and the sauerkraut the flavors were all good and I enjoyed the taste of the pastrami when I found it, but the bread to meat ratio was so high I mostly tasted the burned crust of the bread and very few bites of pastrami. It was one slice of pastrami, not a thin slice but not what you hope for when you bite into true Jewish deli pastrami, which are normally bursting at the seems with meat. Marble rye is hard not to burn and they did a good job for the most part, but I tasted more crust than I did pastrami, and for $18 I wonder if this sandwich was more a charge for the hype. The blintzes were also smaller than one would expect of a blintz but I absolutely loved the compote on top.
