What a great place. Besides a great car wash Everyone who works there from manager on down is first class.

i have been using this car wash for years and never had a problem until Wednesday of this week. As soon as i saw the gouges that were put on my car i took it up there to show the attendant . she tells me " no one else has complained about it so she can guarantee that it didn't happen there‍ well i can guarantee it did happen there, the whole back half of my car was replaced by a rear end accident. After reading other reviews and seeing similar comments. It must be a script they learn working at the zax car wash to deny all responsibility. The car wash itself was horrible, very little soap, the foam strips dragged in clumps across the roof of my car, my car looked worse after the supposed wash. At least before the car wash the dirt was even and there weren't gouges in the black plastic and tailgate. i paid for a $24 for an ultimate plus tip to damage my car. Never again. read more

Since the remodel opened, such major problems with the gates opening even with passes and license plate recognition. Sooo slow. Guys always have to come out to help which builds log lines waiting. Also doesn't dry the cars. Water spots all over the car after full wash. They really need to figure this out for a brand new place under new ownership. The last place was awful. read more

TERRIBLE! My car was spotless minus the 1200 road miles of bugs on the windshield and front of the car. Typically they spray with the bug removal spray but this time they didn't see the massive bug carnage and let he car go through. The typical streams of SOAP for the car came out as water!! Then the brushes have zero soap to clean the car! So I enjoyed the car wash that didn't apply soap and didn't remove the bug off the windshield not the front of the car! I ended up re-doing the bug cleaning at my house! TERRIBLE!! read more

Easy access. Takes credit cards. Staff are pretty friendly. The quality of wash is not great. For $10, it's basically a light dust and salt removal, but it isn't thorough. There are always a lot of spots missed especially on the front and back bumpers. It's definitely easier than doing it myself in the middle of winter, and it's quick to pass through this location on my way to other places. read more

A few months ago I went to the Zax in Wixom next to the Mobil gas station. I get home and my car was still dirty on the back end. I contacted them by email. They sent me a gift card to to replace the car wash. I went today to get a wash and this time the entire back end and the bottom rails were still dirty. Tried calling and got no answer. So I went back and went thru the wash again. Told the attendant this was my second time thru today and what the issue was. I watched them twice spray off the backs of the cars in front of me really well. When it came to mine they barely sprayed it. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! I spent a total of $20 on crappy car washes and my car is still dirty. read more

Our family has had fast passes on at least one of our cars for almost 20 years here, and when we moved to a dirt road last year we added a pass to our other car. Two months ago the wash literally snapped the "shark fin" antenna off our ford edge; you can see that all the plastic attachments are broken right off. The car wash says they are not in any way responsible and won't even work with us by extending our passes for any length of time as compensation or customer service. Terrible experience and so disappointing after being loyal for so long. read more

I mean, my car got clean for the most part but it wasn't worth the $15 I paid for it. $15 to wash a car.... unbelievable. No towel dry at the end AND they have a tip jar PRIOR to going into the wash? For what? They didn't do anything. I put in my card into a machine and selected my package; no one attended to me. Also, one guy on my passenger side didn't even scrub my ride. It was a half- arsed effort for $15. Not worth the drive, the money, or the experience. It's also in need of some exterior upkeep in terms of refresh or cleaning. Glad my car is somewhat clean but I'll stick to other washes I know and have a better recommendation. Staff is friendly and quick. The cleaning is not great and almost every vehicle I've seen go through the wash, comes out with the back of their vehicle only half cleaned. However, I like paying a monthly fee for unlimited washes, and I love that there's a lane just for people that pay the monthly fee. Drive up, gate opens, and you jump in front of everybody that is waiting to pay with a credit card. I can put up with a subpar wash as long as I can get in and out on a sunny day. read more

After the car wash scratched the entirety of my trunk, I asked to speak to a manager immediately. Was told to write down my name and number and the owner would contact me the next day. After over a month of no contact from the owner, and multiple trips back into the car wash, I was still given the same answer. "Oh I'm so sorry to hear that! Please write your name and number and the owner will call you immediately." Do yourself a favor and go to any other car wash, there are plenty better establishments with better prices and customer service. Zax is a joke. read more

The roof of my truck was damaged at the Whitmore Lake location. The attendant was cordial and said he'd notify the owner. I had no contact after a week and went back and again talked to the same attendant. Still was never contacted and all of my correspondence was ignored. I refuse to ever go back again as this is not the type of business I will deal with. Go there at your own risk. They just don't care about their customers. Zax is a convenient location for me so I've tried to give them a few chances but this place just misses the mark. Although it is always very busy, I suspect that is just due to their convenient location and I think the car dealership across the street is a frequent flier here. My car has never once come out clean; the back bumper and bottom portion of my entire SUV are always untouched, covered in dirt. I did purchase a promotion they had at one point which was something like buy 4 washes get the 5th free (I honestly do not recall the details and they are no longer running the same deal). This ended up coming out to me in gift cards. Upon trying to use the gift cards at a subsequent visit, I was told they all had a zero dollar balance! So I ended up only getting one wash (it allowed me to go through at my initial purchase of the $35 in gift cards). The attendant who assisted me and told me they all had zero balance could not have cared less. During my last visit when trying to use those cards, I finally just ended up paying for the "Deluxe" wash (since I was already in a line when trying to get the gift cards to work) but when I started going along the track it said I was receiving the "express" wash. How disappointing! I won't be returning to give this place any more of my business. read more

Presently there's no reason to go to Zax. I've been going there for car washes for several years and the quality has declined dramatically. As other reviewers have noted, the car wash does not clean bird droppings off your car. Because their basic wash does not clean your car, I recommend Zax be avoided for the time being until they make an effort to improve the quality of the wash. read more

I just bought the new 2015 Mustang GT so obviously I needed a place to keep the beast clean. Zax has been great! The place is designed to be a nice, quick, and easy place to get your car washed. They offer monthly memberships (well worth it) and the owners a good guy. Any businessman who goes the extra mile to make his customers happy is a 5 star in my book. They close at 9 pm Monday through Friday. I pulled up at 9:15 pm, the owner kept the wash open for me after hours, shook my hand after introducing himself, and gave me a free wax too! read more

I pulled up last Friday for my monthly truck wash, after not having been here in several years. I was disappointed to see that the deluxe wash is now $14.99, which is a steep price to pay. However they offer a $24.99/month program which I may look into now that I drive by here every day again. Anyway, the cost was the primary reason for a rating of 3 versus 4 or 4.5. As far as the quality of the wash, it's wonderful. The deluxe gives you every conceivable option including rain-ex, hot wax, and great tire treatment. The water is clean, and the brushes are nice and soft and rotate in ways that they get every angle of my truck, including the back window that is missed in most car washes. Finish it off with massive gas-fed heated blowers and you emerge clean, dry , and warm! read more

They have put in all completely brand-new equipment! The wash is very very good but living on a dirt road sometimes you still need to run the car through a second time if it doesn't get 100% clean. They never give me a hard time if I've got to go back through. Best wash for dirt road car I've found in the area. read more

On Tuesday, Feb. 15 I visited your location on Grand River and Wixom Road. I inserted a $20 bill into your XPT. I waited for five minutes and the arm would not lift up. Eventually one of your employees lifted the car to allow me to advance forward it was around 6:30 am - 6:45 am and there were two employees there, a young man and a young lady in the tunnel. I stated to him that the XPT took my money and did not give me the change. He put my name on a sheet of paper and said he would forward it to the owner but wasn't sure if he could get in touch with him. in addition to this, he was rude to me and my wife. I find this to be very disturbing and offensive. We frequent this location several times a week with two cars. I have never had this experience before with this company. Clearly something was wrong if he had to intervene with lifting the gate beside the way it should normally work, correct? I never received a call from the manager or the owner. I visited the store in good faith to get the service I paid for, not to lose $10 in an XPT and then be insulted by an employee. read more

While getting a car wash at the Clarkston location, my drivers side mirror was smashed. I got an estimate at my car dealer and went to talk to the person in charge. This person was very nice, apologized and said he would show a picture of the damage and a copy of the repair estimate to the person who could handle this. He said I should hear something in a few days. A week went by with no word back so I returned to the clarkston car wash and asked him if he heard anything about my problem. He said no word yet. I called every phone number I could find and either got a constant busy signal or no answer, I sent an email and received no answer. These people say they pride themselves on great customer satisfaction and cant have the courtesy to speak with me. This happened about 3pm on June15. Eventually I wrote to the better business bureau and they never responded. No way to run a business!! read more

I would definitely stay away from this place, I have a 2016 dodge ram, went thru the wash for the first time, the brushes tore the cover off my mirror, was able to find the cover inside the car wash, went to put it back and the clips were broken (not an aftermarket part), after reading the disclaimers for aftermarket parts that they do not cover in the event something like this happens, I spoke with the manager explained to him what happened, he said that they would not fix it, he didn't even offer an apology, a free car wash, a refund! I really like this car wash and have been coming here for a few years and the staff is friendly and my car always comes out clean. I have the monthly pass that they offer now and for $25 a month I can literally wash my car every single day of the month and there always open so I have no complaints. read more

Been going there for years Even my son worked their for some time thought the owner was a good person. My rear tail light was ripped from my truck, for some reason the car wash stoped while I was in about to the air dry area... the brushes started up again and pulled my rear light from its fasteners I had it replaced that day at dealer. And not been reimbursed. I say don't go here they wont fix what they destroy. MRGO PS. They fired two employee's for giving the owners number !!! This place is good for getting pollen and dust off your car, it will not take bird poop off. I have seen muddy cars make multiple trips through. I do have the monthly membership and going on a weekday morning they spray your car off better the. On weekends. Avoid getting the tire shine, only the left side works. The right side hasn't worked in about a year now. read more

There were missed areas of dirt all over my entire vehicle. There are $2 washes all over southeast Michigan that do as good, if not a better job than this overpriced wash. I have been to this place twice, just to see if the first time was a fluke. My second visit was my last. read more

Every time I take my F350 platinum with pearl white paint. I get black spots all over it from Grease that is lubricating their equipment .
