Just a 3 today. I did like the fact that unlike Jax car wash they spray down all around your car. It was a regular wash I got but when I got out of my car later the whole bottom panels of my car were still dirty which I don't understand because the rest of my car was clean.. The washes have been great and I've been a monthly subscriber for years. A couple years ago, they increased their monthly price from $19.99 to $22.99...ok, I get it. However, in February 2025, with NO warning, they jacked their price up to $27.99. A whole $5 with no warning! All because they're under new ownership and are greedy? I'm sorry, but that's just too much. Also...they have no website so you can't manage your account online. They should have at least sent out emails to let you know they were increasing their price. What a bummer. Used to love this place but now they sold to big business. Classic up charging and telling you that you need to replace every single filter in the vehicle. Telling me I need an oil change every 3000 miles when they know damn well, it's closer to five or 10,000 miles. Great car wash. Equipment is modern and the staff is friendly. Nobody puts a broom on your car- which I HATE. The dryer at the end is powerful. I cannot stand the people at the end of a car wash drying my car with rags and Me feeling like a tip is necessary. Volcano is great. You roll in using a very simple automated system- they have two lanes in case someone is confused and needs more time and you are typically in and out in less than five minutes. I have told everyone about the Volcano. If you drive an old car and don't care if it gets scratched up then I suggest you try the $3 car wash around the corner. If you would prefer to keep the paint on your car looking decent Volcano is for you. For me this is the perfect car wash in an easy to access location. read more

Volcano does a great job. The best part is the super powerful driers at the end that eliminates the need for hand drying. Hand drying is a nice touch, but it is also a great way to scratch the heck out of your paint. I'd much rather use blowers. Another nice feature during a pandemic is the non-contact wash selection via a touchscreen. read more

I absolutely love this place and am so glad it opened up near my home. This car wash is a model for the way all car washes should be run. When you pull in you drive right up to kiosk similar to an ATM. You select the kind of wash you would like, pay with cash or card, and drive right over to the entrance. Someone guides you in, sprays down your car, and you are pulled through the wash. At the end, there is a light that blinks, "wait" until it turns to green and you can pull out. So simple, convenient, and quick. There are no employees at the end to towel dry your car which means you don't have to worry about tipping. I have a monthly pass that was placed on my windshield which enables me to pull right up to the window, it gets scanned, and I am let in. Again, this is exactly what every car wash should be like. The guys that work here are friendly and even stand out in the freezing cold weather to make sure all their customers are taken care of. The car wash is clean, which sounds weird but we have all been to a car wash that is disgusting. I really really hope this place sticks around for awhile because the turnover at this location is pretty high. It changes owners every two years but so far so good with the new Volcano Auto Wash! read more

FALSE PRICING AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! Disappointed in the experience I had at Volcano Auto Wash today. I purchased the $5.99 wash from the kiosk and instead of receiving my change back (yes, only a penny), it was automatically deposited into a "Penny Donation Account". When I asked the service attendant details about the "Penny Donation Account" he was rude and insulting. Instead of being able to share what "charity" this went to, or offering me my penny back, he chastised me for asking the question. The attendant clearly lacked any professional communication skills and demonstrated poor ethical behavior. Recommendations to owner(s) would be to 1) Accurately state that the price of your services will be rounded up to the nearest dollar 2) Provide information as to what, if any at all, charity the money is going to 3) Invest in a kiosk that dispenses pennies. Did not have to wait. Service person did not try to up-sell me additional services, they even encouraged me to take my vehicle back to the original person who changed my transmission fluid. Ended up having Volcano change multiple fluids. Took about 30-45min, but when I returned they had washed my vehicle free of charge. I purchased a monthly pass against my instinct. At the purchase I specifically asked if I pay with credit card the monthly will not renew automatically and I was told absolutely not. I trusted her and gave them my credit card. Today I noticed that they have decided to run another monthly pass fee . A poor business practice! Now I have to call them to reverse or dispute the charge on my time. I did only use the wash 2X during the purchased month and hence I ended up paying more than had I just paid a la carte. I signed up for a membership for one month at volcano, and the guy in the car wash when I enter does not tell me when to stop so the car sometimes jumps up and he gets all upset and blames it on me, and this happened more than once, then I ask for the manager who has no idea what happened and he refunded my membership with 2 weeks left. I have been going to get my oil changed here for years. No problems, a little pricey but well done. I had my back brakes and rotors changed about 6 months ago and recently felt like they were scraping so I went back to ask them to check. Well after 3 hours and telling me they needed parts, to find out that they couldn't get the lug nuts off to even look. I got different stories from 3 different technicians. Finally Mike the owner tried to get them off and even burned himself and that 2 of the lug nuts they broke off and that I would have to go to Midas and have them drilled out. He then ordered new lug nuts for the back tires?? Im not sure if Mike knew that they were the ones that put the tires on when I replaced the brakes. Charged me $25.00 for the new lug nuts??????? I left with the same problem,and more. Cost me $30.00 to have them drilled out and had to replace the parts , another $20.00, I spent over $250.00 for the brakes only to find out that the pads were bad. (in 6 months) So, I had to replace the back brakes again! Seriously? I tried to speak to Mike and I leave messages and no return call. I wanted to give him the opportunity to know what happened if indeed he got the same several stories that I did.I always felt like they were an honest and I have been going there for a long time. Until now,I referred all my friends and family and this happens. I am really disappointed and feel like I was duped. read more

Went there today for the first time. The name has been changed from Big Ray's to Volcano. The shop was clean and the techs were pleasant. I got 5qt semi synthetic, filter, air filter($26), tires checked, washer fluid filled, and coupon for car wash. All this in less than 15 minutes. Total $67. I wouldn't say they are outside the range of what you would pay elsewhere, except for maybe Quick Lane ($39.99) which includes tire rotation, although they are usually anything but quick. I'll give four stars for now and try them again. read more

This car wash is amazing. Always get a nice wash and good shine that lasts with the premium wash. The premium wash is $19.99 and the car automated attendant automatic donates the penny so it's a flat $20. You can prepay your next was and save $5 too. However, if you are looking for an unlimited club they have one but good luck getting a pass. Today was my third attempt. Instead of waiting for 15 minutes at the automated booth for a human to place a sticker in my car (my first attempt), I called the number. No answer and no return call. Today I bought the pass online and then I just show my receipt to the attendant. Well he told me only the owner has them. I asked to see the owner and he replied, "He will be here later" pulled out his cell and turned his back. So I turned around went to the automated booth and tried again. He never came out to help me. I really like this wash and drive from Livonia to use it. They hardly have a line and it does such a good job. Unfortunately, I just might have to go back to Jax. read more

My Ford Escape was serviced at Big Ray's Quick Lube for a SIMPLE air filter replacement. The mechanic put the WRONG air filter in my car which resulted in my car shutting down on the expressway with my four month old son in the back seat. We were on the on ramp that merges into the fast lane on US23. We were very lucky to get off the expressway alive without getting hit by traffic going 80mph. We were stranded for over an hour and it costs us over $100. We presented them with documentation from the dealership regarding the air filter, which did not fit correctly and allowed debris into the engine causing it to shutdown. The owner refuses to reimburse us for their poor service which could have been DEADLY. read more
