Years ago, my friend gave me something in a Zara bag. The item that was gifted to me wasn't from Zara. I asked him if he shopped there often. He didn't, but his wife was a fan. I have remembered that bag ever since. I had never dropped by any Zara store until recently. It happened to be at this Zara at Yorkdale Shopping Centre, roughly an hour before a scheduled event at Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. This store is not all that far away from it. What prompted me to visit Zara? A collaboration between Pet Shop Boys and Zara. There are four t-shirts and a canvas tote bag created as part of the PSB line at Zara. The four t-shirts are mostly PSB albums, with the exception of Love etc., which is a song, and is both a t-shirt and tote bag at Zara. I frankly wanted the tote bag the most and was elated when I found it in the men's section. This Zara has two floors, with men's and children's clothing on the top floor, and women's clothing on the main floor. I immediately snagged a bag. Steps away was the Super t-shirt. It has the Super album logo on the front and its list of songs on the back. It dawned on me that this line is for men. However, the t-shirt felt unisex to me. As usual, I don't know what size I wear when I visit a store in which I own nothing clothing-wise. The fitting rooms had a long lineup that I did what I normally do. I tried this t-shirt on over the t-shirt that I was wearing. I found the right size right off the bat and looked at myself in the mirror steps away from the PSB section. Perfect. Done! I headed to the cashout area to pay for my items. There was one woman staffer handling a rather massive order with a male customer and it was a long wait. There was another man ahead of me. I am so patient that I wonder where I got that from. When it was my turn, I talked to the nice woman. Part of the reason why it takes longer than most cashout areas is that for every article of clothing that comes with a clothes hanger, the staffer walked over to hang it up, and returned to the register to continue. I am all for keeping things tidy, but this process comes with an inefficient overhead. Anyway, I had just got paid (my paycheque was deposited within minutes after I was in line, which feels like I won the jackpot, but not really) and used my debit card to pay for my items. I tapped and was great. I got my goodies in a paper shopping bag with handles. I loved it. I thanked the woman, who shut her register down after my purchases, with a colleague taking over her duties. I then headed down the escalato, and walked out of the store. There is one entrance dedicated to exiting. I entered the store from another entrance. The flow was good, while still maintaining physical distancing. Since then, I have ordered the three remaining t-shirts online to complete my PSB-Zara collection. The t-shirts are so comfortable to wear! The other three cover PSB's Format and Suburbia albums, and the Love etc. single. The tote is a winner! There's a hidden pocket with a zipper inside the tote. I love it. It's so roomy and lovely. It makes sense why Zara and PSB would collaborate on a line. They both embrace minimalism and clean design. I had a great first couple of experiences at Zara's, both at this store and online. We'll see if I come back for more limited edition collections. (300) read more

I actually found this Zara to be one of the best I've been to. This one had things reasonably in order and there were lots of different sizes. I'm not sure if Zara's quality has improved overall but the fabric for a lot of items seemed sturdier and clothes weren't already smudged or ripped. The employees didn't seem to mind that I tried on some outerwear on the floor and seeing how it looked in the mirrors they have on the pillars. They had a ton of cute items that were perfect for holiday parties. I didn't see that many sale items so I might have to come back during Boxing Week to see how the deals have shaped up later. read more

Not a big fan of this location, however a great fan of the brand in general... But this location, although it's in beautiful Yorkdale, is always dirty, unkept and all over the place! They shut down for sometime due to renovations, however, things got even worse after that in my opinion. They changed the cashier stations from the side, all the way to the back by the changing rooms, where there is no room to form a line, ppl lineup underneath the escalator!! The second level was changed as well, they cut the mens' section in half and added a kids section.. They're ALWAYS short-staffed on cashiers, the line takes way too long.. We came back to another Zara because a previous Zara in Eaton Centre left on the sensor tag on my baby's mittens. We ended up shopping! This Zara has two levels and the top level is split between kids and adult men. The men's department was very clean and organized. Kids was clean and had the same options as the other two Zara's I've visited in Toronto. Both store levels were hot! The lower level was the worst! Seemed to not have any ac running. The ladies attire are on the ground floor and didn't seem as organized to me and was very chaotic with all the shoppers. Zara is a great contender as a favorite store because it has so many options, styles and fluctuation in prices for your modest and affluent shopper! read more

Disgraceful disgusting company. Ordered a dress online. Couldn't fit it over my head and return it ASAP! They sent it back to me and said it was not in good return condition? What!? I didn't even wear it. I called customer service to complain. They were suppose to call me back for a 2nd review. By this time they sent it back to me. I called 2 weeks after and they decided without even seeing the product new with tags, they declined a refund? WTF!!!! Called again to speak to a supervisor and again no call 2 weeks later nothing! They obviously do not care about their customers. Disgusted and disappointed!! I will never ever buy anything from this company again and post this experience everywhere I can. read more

The store is pretty big but barely ANY mirrors! I have to walk across to a whole different selection/room just to look at one. Like most Zara stores, it's pretty messy. And as I was walking out, there was an employee wheeling into the store with some shoes on a cart and one of the shoe was sliding on the floor. I have no idea where she was coming from but I feel bad for who ever buys those shoes! Also I didn't see much employees and even if I had past by a few none of them greeted or said anything. read more

In comparison to the location at Square One, this Zara is a complete DREAM! It was somewhat busy when I walked in, but man, it wasn't a zoo with clothes all over the racks/floors, line-ups straight through the displays, etc. It was actually quite tame in here, so I was impressed. The fact that this is a 2-storey store also helps alleviate the mess. Sorta reminded me of shopping at Zara in Europe. I honestly dunno if I just came at a completely off-time, but Square One is busy almost all the time. So much so that I don't walk in there unless it's only semi-messy! read more

Used to think they had really great clothes for the price point. Especially during end of season sales for kids and the rest of the family. Since H&M came out with a kids section, it appears, for the quality and price and everything else, Zara is not as good a choice for kids' wear and even casual wear fro the family. Grrrrrrr...I hate trying on clothes at Zara. Their 6 items MAX policy stinks. So, I found a mirror that no one was using and started putting on clothes. They were shirts and tops only...I didn't take anything off so I was decent. AND THEN! I was asked to try on clothes in the fitting room only, where the lines were nuts (Yorkdale after all). I gave the you-have-to-be-"shirting"-me look and left. Left all my beautiful tops and blazers But that totally ruined the shopping experience! In all my years of shopping at Zara, and at different locations, I have never been asked to do this. Of course, I totally didn't hold a grudge because I found an empty bench in the mall and went online to search Google "Zara Fitting Room Policies Can't Try on Clothes in front of mirror." So, the most common reason was cited as Security. I am assuming if you try on clothes inside the change rooms, you can't just walk out and steal. If you put on a top outside, you can steal...even though there is a security guard standing by the entrance. One story I found online went so far as to say this woman was asked to try a coat in the change rooms. I thought I was doing all the other customers a service by not taking up a spot in the line queue by quickly putting tops on. But Zara thought otherwise I have definitely experienced better. read more

Zara - The lovely change rooms in the Yorkdale Zara... apparently they don't know what a broom looks like! - Men's Clothing Near Me - North York, Ontario

Best men's clothing I have seen on offer so far in Toronto. So seems the tables have turned, I was never a big fan of Zara and it was only as a last resort I kind of stepped in here to find a shirt and ended up buying a lot more and if they had the other stuff in my size it would have been credit card fever. I came here 15 minutes before closing so I can excuse the service for not being attentive but generally I like to not be bothered when shopping. Okay so the best thing about this place is that it is not Topshop. The clothes are good quality and the price is very reasonable. Their collection of suits and blazers is fantastic and again tailored to fit rather than hang loose. I didn't have too much time to look around but with the exception of one area with some Zambian themed shirts I could not fault them. Think I would be safe to repeat my comment above and say in the one year I have been here in Toronto this is the best I have seen and will be checking out the Zara stores closer to me when Snowmageddon is over. p.s. interesting fact in the UK - Zara were known for only hiring majority mainland European workers, mainly Spanish/Portugese. Horrible customer service at this location!!! The guy at the fitting room had zero customer service standards. I was watching him for over 10 mins while my friend was trying on clothes and he did not once say hi to anyone, smile or say a word to all the people trying clothes on. He just looked at their clothes and gave them a number and had a disgusted look on his face at all times. He was a tall Indian guy with a pony tail. Being Zara, it's busy. Being Zara in Yorkdale mall? It's always busy. Somehow it's always on sales, men's shirts are ranging from $19.99 to $39.99, and the selections are great, it's just that I don't like the buttoned down collars. The fitting room is small, so the waiting time is really long. A trick to avoid that is to bring in at least one piece of the item you want, then keep asking the guy there to bring you different size or colour so you can find a perfect match. One of the worst Zara branches I have been to. Rude. They treat you like ur in an airport and u are going through the security check.

I called Zara, Yorkdale and they put me through to Men's. I told her exactly what polo shirt I wanted, the reference number, size and colour. She put me on hold. At 21 mins and 36 seconds a guy picks it up and said "may I help you". I told her the girl is looking for a polo shirt for me and it's a long time, he responded "she's still looking". At 30 mins and 3 seconds I hung up. Called back 6 times and they don't answer. I thought I would ask for the manager. What kind of service is this? Makes you think twice before shopping there again. My son would be travelling along way to go get this shirt and I wanted to make sure they have it and would hold it for him before he made the trip. read more

The manager at the Zara location was very rude. She basically accused me of lying to her and wasn't helpful at all. I understand the policy of having a receipt to do any type of exchanges but as I told the Eaton Center Zara manager from the onset that I didn't have my receipt anymore and she said it's not a problem. She explained the policy to me but also mentioned that the item I needed to exchange was no longer at their store, but the Yorkdale location has it and they can take care of it. So I went to Yorkdale only to be treated like and called a liar by the register and manager. I don't expect anything to happen here because what does one customer really matter to a company like Zara, but the rude behavior at this location is beyond normal. On a side note. As we were waiting for the manager to come, I watched the checkout girls be rude and dismissive to other customers. Yorkdale Zara has no respect for customers!!!! read more

Zara in yorkdale,they treated the customers badly, I went in to the store 2 days ago , I did not get anything but I came out , the alarm at the door started to sound. There was another girl came out the same time with me. The security guard waving his hand without even speak. Using his hand to asked us to walk in and out again. Appear was me that create the alarm sounds. He pointed my bag again with speak signed that to open my bag then pointed the door to let me go. There is no please, thank you , smile or anything. Beautiful store, beautiful product, TERRIBLE service. The customer service in this store is well below par and brings down the name of the brand in such an awful way. Even as a loyal customer to Zara, I wouldn't recommend the Yorkdale store to ANYONE. If you have any experience in customer service, you will leave this store with a bad taste in your mouth. The employees are snotty, rude, and will never go out of their way to help you. Management really needs to get off their butts and do something about the awful service that severely taints the experience of anyone shopping there. Made a purchase at Christmas at the Yorkdale store was told that I would have plenty of time after returning from Europe to exchange . I expressed again my concern and was told by the cashier that I had plenty of time to exchange once I returned . Called Customer Service and got the runaround asked to have matter escalate to a district supervisor . They returned with the verdict that there is no exception to the rule , that's right they will never be an exception where I will again spend any money in the store . Warning to the public to be careful of Zara's employees they lack knowledge of the store policies . Please do not purchase until you get to read the store policy because of course you cannot read until you purchased it and receive a bill. There are no signs in the store indicating their policy yet they will enforce it even if you are just one day late .
