This Morrocan restaurant sits in the upper floor of a very cool "only restaurant/bar" mall called BordeRio in the neighborhood of Vitacura in Santiago. The decoration makes you feel you are somewhere in Marrakech! The service was great, they didn't have seating inside, so they sat us outside for a while and after a table became available they were very kind in moving us in. The food was so savory and cooked on point. I ordered the steak teriyaki and it was a good portion placed on a hot pan which continue to cook my meal why I was eating it! What an eclectic place! The decor is really interesting and has a great vibe. The music was perfect and it just felt comfortable, hip and welcoming. Was here with some colleagues and we had a lot of appetizers and cocktails. I filled up on the cocktails, including some delicious hummus, spring rolls and shrimp and I was so full, I couldn't order an entree so I just had some lamb kebabs. Everything was bold and tasty. The menu features things from various parts of the world whether it's the Middle East, Southeast Asia or Africa. Service was great, too. They brought us out some desserts including something that had mango in it and it was delicious. I was disappointed I had to share that. One standout for me was their cocktail menu. They have a lot of interesting drinks, including non-alcoholic mocktails, and my rose martini was spectacular. It not only looked great but it tasted amazing. Too many times things that are rose flavored have an overly artificial rose taste to them, but this was sublime. Definitely a great place. read more

This restaurant is located in a pleasant neighborhood that is upscale and cool vibe. Zanzibar is located on the back row of Borago. What an amazing dining experience - A must when in Santiago. The food and drinks were breath taking- I don't say that often. The service was attentive and helpful - extremely friendly and they have menus in English , plus we used Google Translate ;). Check out our photos for what we ordered for two people dining. Only regret is that we couldn't try more. The decor, aesthetic and overall vibe is a 5/5! Service was also very attentive compared to normal chilena standard, which I appreciated. Great cocktails and Mocktail selection. The food itself was subpar given the prices. For example, the pita chips were a bit stale, the dips lacked spices, and overall it just was not extraordinary. The menu is kind over the place from Pakistani to Mediterranean. Which I know it's a melting pot of a country with various influences, but I was expecting more selection of African- inspired dishes. Overall, I think it's way too expensive for the quality of food. read more

Everything we ate and drank was amazing. The staff didn't speak any English but they were very warm and accommodating. They do have English menus for guests. I recommend their Perfect Sour however the entire table was blown away when tasting the Vanilla Rose Martini. Ladies, order it. It's delicious and beautiful. We came with the intention of eating on the rooftop but we were seated inside. We immediately didn't care because the indoor decor was incredible. So much ambiance. read more

Zanzibar has a very large menu and the food is delicious! I tried the stir fry with shrimp which was delicious - not too spicy with lots of flavor. Most of the items on the menu note from which country the dish is inspired which is a nice touch. The desgustacion de postre for two was delicious as well. The service was excellent. This multi-national restaurant is located inside Borde Rio along with several other restaurants. We had their Thai dishes, Pad Thai and Green Curry with Mero (fish), and they instantly became our favorite. They seem to be quite popular as there were several reserved seats. So reservation might be recommended. (It was around lunch, 12:30 on Saturday.) Their exotic interior is very nice and romantic. Recommended for a date for sure. Liked both dishes and drinks. We sat outside in one of the blue sofa tables. The atmosphere is beautiful and cozy. Food took a while to come but the app was good. Drinks were good. Main course recommendation - if you come here for anything but middle eastern foods, you'll be dissappointed. Some of the table ordered Thai dishes and did not like their meals at all while others who stuck with the medditeranean and middle eastern dishes said they were incredible.
