Undeniable the BESTEST coffee in Hurstville. Absolutely hands and knees down…read more They have a pretty cool interior made from wood with a funky graffiti artwork at the back wall as a feature. I'm also guessing they call themselves 18 grams because each double shot of coffee is precisely 18 grams? You know if a place is confident with their coffee if they serve it unconventionally. What I mean here is styles you won't get at a standard cafe. For example, cold drip, siphon etc... This place has everything. They also know some cool finishing touches that gets people coming back for more. During launch they gave out free coffee - a full coffee card. Being the snobby me I declined the card (I actually didn't know what they were giving out to be honest ...). But when I went there the first time they gave me a loyalty card with the first row all stamped meaning my next coffee was on them! Awesomeness #1. I love cookies and every coffee has a cookie on it! Awesomeness #2 ... I was sold. And what's Awesomeness #3? Their coffee :)

Decided to take a field trip to Kingsgrove with a friend since I'm a burger lover and I saw a photo…read moreof their burger somewhere and it looked good. The head chef here received an internship at Noma, so you know they must be doing something right. The food is a mix of Australian and Greek, you'll see influences in each dish. They have plenty of space here, so it's a good place for group outings, catching up with friends or even a semi-casual date. The coffee is on the expensive side at $4.50 a cup, but my flat white was velvety smooth to be fair, so I didn't mind the higher price. My friend and I ordered the grass fed double cheeseburger on brioche, the hand cut chips with feta, and the Kritharaki (orzo in napolitana sauce with tiger prawn) to share. The hand cut chips were awesome....definitely a must get plus a massive portion too. The Kritharaki was also very tasty, highly recommend this too. As for the burger, it was alright. It was a little bit burnt and salty so it definitely looks better than it tastes, 3.5/5 for the burger. If this place was located close to the CBD I would probably come pretty often since I live by the CBD, but since it's out in Kingsgrove I probably won't make the trek unless it was a special occasion. Great place for people close to Kingsgrove, not so much for others.

Walking into Kingsgrove pottery, it is the restaurant buzzing with life. Full of warmth and an inviting open plan layout, you are welcomed by friendly attentive staff. There are outdoor tables as well as a large indoor seating area capable of hosting events and parties. Coffee: Good, comes in normal or mug size. Food: A mix of Greek and Middle Eastern. We had the beef burger, falafel salad (best falafel!) and the beef sandwich. Delicious and flavours were well balanced. You leave this place so full! Definitely coming back ... and Super loving the locality!

It was around lunchtime on Friday and the place was full of customers, which doesn't take many people considering it is quite small. It is a little cafe/take-away shop a couple doors up from Bardwell Park station yet it is surprisingly quiet considering its location. There isn't a great deal of seating so I would be mindful when going as peak hours could make it quite difficult to grab a table. However, they do keep some tables and chairs out the back just in case they encounter a few extra customers than they expected. It had a simple yet modern style & decor with Italian music playing softly in the background - my kind of atmosphere! Known for its excellent sandwiches, it features a black board showcasing around 10 different sandwiches for the picking. There are also various Italian style sweets available for purchase for those that would oblige. Of course, you have your standard selection of hot and cold beverages, coffees included. We decided to grab a chicken wrap costing us $10 each which is great value considering the size of these wraps. They are very large & packed with plenty of ingredients. The chicken was cooked perfectly, the vegetables were fresh, the bread was spot of and the sweet chilli sauce was delicious! And to think it only cost $10 - a "value for money" miracle in this day and age! To compliment the great chicken wrap was the coffee that followed. A great little coffee with plenty of flavour to finish off the great lunch. Also, the staff at the counter were very welcoming with an overtly passionate demeanour about them which really created a positive atmosphere across the cafe. This was something that really added to our experience on the day, it's amazing how much value "passion" can add to a business. This may have been the first time I have been to Pinocchio Cafe, but it will certainly not be my last - excellent service, delicious food & very attractive prices!

Not much of a coffee drinker, yet Macchina is a Saturday morning holy grail paradise after a bout of early morning shopping at the nearby Woolworths supermarket. A latte love at $3 a pop with unlimited water is paradise. A great way to kill the challenge of trains coming once every half an hour...but catch 22, you live in the next suburb, yet it's a bit heavy carrying your groceries home by walking. You have to wait for the train. A latte at Macchina is a pleasant way of waiting for the train back home with groceries in tow. The cakes and other delicacies are appetising, and their latte is just bliss. I love their iced chai drinks too. When I first came here last year, a small size was $5 (extremely filling) with a large for only 50 cents extra. However, I walked here one Sunday afternoon from my home, and I was wanting a small iced chai, yet was informed that they only come in "one" size. Slightly disappointed, even though it's only 50 cents of separation. The large was larger than life, yet still delicious.

This was a bit tricky, but completely worth it.

They have such interesting items on the menu and with monthly specials that give you a reason to come back for more. On my first visit I tried the Chilli Bacon spaghetti: 2 poached eggs, bacon, kale, dried chilli, cashew croutons & Parmesan Boy you knew when they were cooking your dish. Definitely time to cough up some chilli smell. So I always tend to do this to myself and order a pasta dish thinking they all come with sauce but this was the oil based kinda of spaghetti which was a bit disappointing. It did taste pretty good though but was a monsterous size and topped with 2 runny eggs. Mmmm so good but I was stuffed from it. On the second visit I tried the Green Curry Chicken Burger and the special of the month, Sriracha-Honey Fried chicken, Parmesan waffles, greens & beetroot purée. The Green Curry Chicken Burger tastes exactly as it sounds but was very tasty. The waffles probably weren't parmesany enough for me to notice and while the chicken was nice I couldn't really taste any sriracha which was a bit disappointing. If you live in the area I noticed they have buy 6 coffees get one free which is a pretty sweet deal too. Anyway I can't wait to return back to this place and try out more of their awesome menu!
