Ali'i Kaneohe Animal Clinic - Waiting room

Ali'i Kaneohe Animal Clinic

So conveniently located in Windward city shopping center, this is a great facility to have here,…read moreit's clean and the staff is friendly. Ali'i animal is not our regular vet but we have used them for daycare and boarding services. Today we went to Ali'i to have my pet ears examined and a hot spot wound re-checked. While we went specifically for these two issues the vet lectured me on my raw dog feeding as my dog eats raw and has been on raw for the last nine years with no issues. I will not feed kibbles. And maybe once in a great while I'll get him home cooked food. But my visit was not based on his food. My concerns were his ear and wound. Lastly, while Ali'i animal is a great facility, the prices are high!

They were kind and patient with the kitty. They found her owner, and set me up with the contact information for the previous adoption agency the kitty was from. Long story short, she was rehomed WITH ME And they are now my Veterinaries! I've been back once since, and they are SO KNOWLEDGEABLE. Gave me great advice on foods and treats for my kitty and answered all my questions! There is a waiting area with a few chairs. Their rooms are very clean and spacious. And their staff adores pets. No meanies here. 10/10 recommend!

Dr. Pressler, our cardiology vet (and also primary), has gone above and beyond in managing Rocko's mitral valve disease (who's very complicated) and helping us prepare for his upcoming life-saving heart surgery in Japan. Dr. Pressler is highly knowledgeable, especially having been an ER vet for 20 years, so she understands your dog's health to another level. She's deeply compassionate, spends as much time as you need, which makes such a huge difference when navigating something as stressful as your pet's health challenges. She takes the time to explain everything clearly, making sure we fully understand our pup, Rocko's condition and the treatment plan. Her team is equally amazing--all the techs/nurses and front of house, especially Kai and Dera, who we literally talk to weekly. They are all very kind, patient, and always ready to address any questions or concerns we have. They've done so much to ease our stress throughout this journey. Whether it's their gentle handling of Rocko, their prompt responses to calls, or the overall warm and welcoming environment, they truly make you feel like you're in the best hands possible. If you're looking for a veterinary team that genuinely cares and goes the extra mile, Ali'i Animal Kailua is it. We're so grateful to have them on this journey with us and Rocko. Thank you, Dr. Pressler and team, for everything you do! I would give all their locations 10 stars if I could. Highly recommend!

I waited a full 7 months to write this review to ensure it didn't just come from an emotional…read moreplace. I brought my precious 18.5 year old boy here to assess whether we should continue to medicate him or help him cross the rainbow bridge. I decided for the latter and that isn't what made this such a terrible experience. I regret each moment after I made that decision. When you arrive at this clinic, they take your dog from you and examine them while you wait in the car. So they had already taken him from me. The vet came out to have the conversation with me about options, and when I made my decision they told me I could wait in the car or the reception area. I chose the reception area, not really thinking much about it because I was grieving. Within moments, the receptionist started giving me papers to sign and options for cremation and I heard my baby boy screaming bloody murder in the room next to the reception area. I was in a panic, but in freeze mode, crying while the receptionist just stared at me. I had no idea they were going to needle and sedate him before I even got to see him again! After what felt like an eternity of hearing him scream, they brought me into the room and he was completely in shock and already half way gone. I picked him up and she didn't even give me a chance to talk to him or say anything she just stated explaining what she was injecting into his IV. He was dead within mere minutes of me stepping into the room. Then of course they told me to take all the time I needed. I was so traumatized I walked out and left his blanket, his bed, his collar. To be fair, I called the clinic a week later and left a message saying I wanted to speak with the clinic manager about a recent experience. No one ever called me back. They never even called to see if I wanted his things back. And they charged me over $400 for this traumatic experience. Don't get me wrong, losing a dog is never easy. But when I've done home euthanasia before, it's so much more peaceful and compassionate. This. Was. Awful. My sweet boy did not deserve to die that way after 18 faithful years. I will never, ever forget his screams. Never. Look elsewhere for pet care. This place doesn't deserve your money.
