I have been to two other centers, and frankly, haven't had a negative experience with any of the 6…read moreyoga instructors I've been taught by. But for me, Liz is a notch above the rest. Liz and the other yoga instructors at Advanced Health Massage and Yoga have helped me find a new way of stretching and relaxing that has changed my life! I'm a 51 year old, male runner with ridiculously tight hamstrings, hips, and IT bands like every other older (male and female) runner I know. After a stress fracture side-lined me for 6 months, my physical therapist told me that if I wanted to run for years to come with minimal or no injuries, that I would need to do yoga. My PT warned me against impersonal gyms, killer to follow DVD's, and large centers. I would need specialized, hands-on training from a smaller, more patient studio. Liz, and the other instructors at Advanced, have been perfect for my needs, and the strength and flexibility I've seen in just three months has already helped me lower my 5K race times and I sleep and wake up more comfortably. They mix just the right amount of meditation and stretching in a quiet and calming atmosphere. It was also hard to beat their $20 for 20 days new member special. I went 8 times over the 20 days for only $20! Of course by then I was ready to sign up for the 10x card which makes the prices of a session only $12.00 Again, hard to beat. Prior to opening her center, Liz worked for several years as a massage therapist in a local chiropractic practice and offers shiatsu and cranio facial massage, and what I would term sports therapeutic massage. Lots of stretching out and aligning my body correctly, and solving issues with areas that are just chronically sore and bowed in from stress, like my shoulders and neck. And since Liz knows me from yoga class, she has real insight into my needs and issues. I would highly recommend you check out Advanced Heath Massage and Yoga if you are in the greater Billerica area. Also check out their Facebook page, that's actually how I decided on this yoga center. The comments there gave off a really pleasant vibe.

I have been attending classes at AHMY for over a year now and I can honestly say that it is one of…read morethe best studios I've ever attended for my own practice. My favorite classes tend to be more strength and holding of postures, not heated flow or power yoga, although they do have a class or two like that as well. They also occasionally offer kids yoga. It is a small space, never over crowded, convenient to my home, and, I always feel welcome. Namaste!!!

I was visiting the New England area for work along with a little pleasure and needed my Bikram Yoga…read morefix to escape the cold temps, and was happy to find Bikram Yoga Chelmsford, very near to my friend's house in Lowell, MA and UMass - Lowell. It was easy to find, had plenty of parking and the teachers and students at the studio were very friendly. I went to the Friday afternoon, 4:30PM class with Nancy, and then the Saturday 9:30AM class with Terri. Both teachers were great, but had different styles, which is one of my favorite parts about Bikram...other than the heat. Nancy's dialogue was very positive and encouraging in a slower, more methodical tone. She had many great points and tips while she stood facing the class or demonstrating on the podium. Terri's morning class was very high energy and she really kept the pace going while making her way between the sweaty bodies who all seemed to follow the dialogue in unison - I really appreciated her use of student's names and put in extra effort when she passed by me in a pose! I'll admit, I was a little deflated when I read a few reviews about the studio smell, but frankly, after visiting, I can only assume those reviews were written by people not familiar with a Bikram studio...it smelled fine, and very good when you consider the typical hot yoga studio. You can't have a wood floor in a hot yoga room, people! You sweat too much and there is a danger of slipping if there weren't carpet. The studio lobby was stocked with cold beverages, numerous active wear pieces that were just perfect for the hot and humid yoga room along with mats and insulated water bottles. The studio offered rental yoga mats which were nicely stacked behind the desk along with clean towels which were great for an out-of-towner. On top of the well-kept carpet, and neat and tidy studio changing and bathrooms, I can't say enough about the showers...and the ample supply of hot water!!! As I mentioned, everyone was so friendly, and after chatting with a few ladies in the dressing room, and waiting to take some pics for my review, I found myself 3rd or 4th in line for a shower after class and had resigned to the fact that I'd just quickly rinse off and leave a full shower for later, but to my surprise, they have tankless water heaters that kept the hot water flowing!!!! I have practiced Bikram yoga for over 12 years, and have visited studios in over 20 states so I feel like I have a lot of experience and appreciation for the good and the bad out there. I usually won't review a place unless it's exstremely good or bad, and frankly...I loved this studio and wished I had one like it closer to home! I highly recommend checking it out and to consider yourself lucky if you do live close enough to be a regular. Namaste...

The Vibe is my church--everyone must go. I have always been athletic and active, but after two…read morecesareans just two years apart and with three herniated discs, getting back into fitness required a more thoughtful approach. The Vibe offers heated Pilates classes (along with other types of classes) that have truly changed my life. I am down 80 pounds and have more mobility now than I ever did, even before having kids. When I say The Vibe is my church, I mean it. I am an avid hot Pilates and Tone Strength Cardio attendee. If I miss one of Brooke's classes, I make sure to double up the following week. Brooke pushes muscles I never even knew I had, and after 2.5 years, I am still discovering new ones every session. She is incredibly motivating and constantly reminds me that I'm here for my health and mobility. The mind-body connection from her classes is what will keep me climbing stairs well into my 80s. She incorporates different equipment to target areas I've never worked before, and I *crave* her classes as a way to level up every day! Whether you're just starting your fitness journey or looking for a challenge, Brooke is the coach for you. She will get you where you need to go--and beyond--showing you what you're truly capable of with a variety of dynamic movements. THANK YOU, BROOKE!!!!

The hot room has carpeting, but it is anti-microbial and is outdoor quality (quick drying). The changing rooms are clean with cubbies for your stuff while you're taking class. There are two showers off of the main hallway where the lockers are located. There is plenty of parking in the lot. I usually take the 6:30 pm class as it is conveniently right after work. The class can get really full or not full at all (the smallest class I've been in had four people). Overall the schedule is convenient )there are weekend classes too. They have a great introductory special, which is unlimited yoga classes for a month for $45 dollars (I think--I forget as it was a while ago). Since the introductory period I signed up for monthly unlimited yoga for $99 per month, which is a great deal if you go three to four times per week. The studio reminds me a little of the ones I used to go to in Chicago. Bikram Yoga Burlington is definitely 5 stars!

Wonder Yoga is truly wonderful!…read more TL;DR: this place has the soul of a funky/unpretentious studio located in a modern boutique facility. The instructors are friendly, informative and pay attention to everyone in their class. They are really in tune with how a beginner experiences a new class (by reminding folks to relax their jaws, etc.) and provide modifications as a given for both beginners, advanced students and those with differing physical situations. I like that the instructors spell out different ideas for modifications or leg/arm positions without you having to ask for it. The friendliness extends to the other students as well. Students are happy to show you things, give you tips, offer to grab you a props before class, etc. The owners make a point to learn your name and are very quick to respond to emails. I started with a $30 30 day trial and immediately knew I would sign up for the VIP unlimited monthly membership. The VIP membership provides you with free mat/towel rental, a free guest pass each month, unlimited yoga, discounts on workshops and more. You are able to use a lock for free. I then upgraded to the VIP monthly membership + massage which equates to a $57 monthly 60 minute massage (before tip - a killer value in greater Boston). The space is absolutely beautiful. The studio is spacious but feels cozy with a black painted ceiling, mirrors and brand new wood floors. The downstairs has a spacious seating area, Wellness room for appointments, lockers (with free locks provided), changing rooms and tea. The bathroom is even stocked with hair ties and tampons!
