Food is ample and tasty! Coffee is spot on and just how we like it! Service is quick and polite, the ladies were very helpful in suggesting options as it was our first time here. Coffee is local from a roaster in Spartanburg, SC. The vibe here is between a diner and a hipster coffee house. I'm digging it! They even have a side room with couches and board games. Another great visit to Zakary's, and I absolutely LOVE the new location. They are now conveniently located near the hospital and have ample parking. The new space also offers plenty of seating and room for coffee meetings, studying, or hightop seats at the bar. They are now offering freshly made pastries that may rotate daily. My latte is amazing. I didn't know what to get but the owner suggested a sugar-free peanut butter with a little bit of salt on top of it because I'm keto. The latte is very smooth not too sweet but just perfect. Customer service is awesome. read more

I absolutely love coffee so one thing I try to do is find local coffee joints in any town I visit. When my wife and I came in to visit her family in Gaffney this summer, I took a walk downtown and was happy to find Zakary's. The owner is an absolute force of nature, being extremely personable, chatting up newbies like myself, and regulars while whipping up drinks for everyone. He was a super friendly guy and he pulls a mean shot of espresso. I got a cortado and an iced americano. He gets his beans from a local coffee roaster and they were fantastic. I don't drink much in the way of flavored coffee drinks, but their offerings sounded delicious if you have a sweet tooth. When we are next in town to visit my wife's family, we will definitely making a return visit. read more

Without missing a beat the guy behind the bar helping the cashier told me that I had to have a white turtle - and that he could make it less sweet if I wanted. Huge smile and clearly loves his job. Outstanding customer service. Zakary's owner goes above and beyond the call of owner. He remembers people, their stories, faces, life events, and of course their drink order. Notices when a new customer comes in and goes out of his way to make them comfortable. They have a wide variety of drinks, all excellent! If you can dream it up, they can make it. Even if they've never made it before, they'll attempt. Comfortable seating, socially spaced with a way to indicate if tables are clean or waiting to be cleaned. Since my husband has started roasting his own coffee, finding a coffee shop that he approves of is like shopping for prom dresses. When we walked in, the owner knew we had never been there before. He greeted us with the warmest welcome, explained their menu, and even explained the beans he uses for his espresso shots. It's not common for roasters to create a blend for espresso shots-so talk about impressed. We didn't stay in, but there was a spacious area for you to kick back and get some work done while staying caffeinated. While we were there a "regular" came in and was not only greeted with a hello, but also "the usual?" I can't even remember where I put my car keys but he can remember multiple coffee orders. This place is a great little local spot. I am not a big coffee drinker, but I stop here often because of the friendly staff, inviting atmosphere, and kind, conscientious people who frequent this establishment. Zak makes the best Chi Lattes and has Almond Milk available for all those non-dairy people out there like me. Zak, the owner, is a graduate of Limestone and since moving to Gaffney to attend Limestone, he has become an amazing entrepreneur, advocate, and volunteer in our community. He makes it his goal to make sure everyone in his shop feels welcomed and included. He has a 'Kindness Board' located at the front entrance where you may donate a 'Cup of Kindness' or take a 'Cup of Kindness', depending on your abundance or need. This ensures no one in our community feels unwelcome in his shop. The 'Kindness Board' allows anyone to take a cup who is struggling financially, maybe walked out and forgot their wallet, or perhaps just needs a pick-me-up on a bad day. Some may think this would be abused - absolutely not! Zakary's doesn't have to worry about that because they have set the standard of what it is like to genuinely care for others. For as many cups of kindness are taken, at least double are donated in their place. This is worth the trip to Zakary's alone! read more

Great local coffee shop that also specializes in Italian sodas. The young owner is pleasant, outgoing and also makes great coffee. The quaint coffee shop start up shares space with other businesses, in an old building in the historic section of downtown Gaffney. I always prefer to patronize a local business over a national chain, and this place makes terrific coffee. To me, the coffee tastes a little better when you are supporting a local business and drinking it while strolling down the sidewalk of historic Gaffney instead of a shopping center.
