If you're a parent, please read this before trusting your child's care of this office…read more I have brought my 4 year old son here multiple times over months (since October) and what we experienced was negligence, dishonesty, and unethical behavior. This office used to be good, which makes this experience even more disappointing. But something has clearly changed -- and not for the better. I'm keeping this nice and fairly short, yet, clear. A dentist there completely missed large, visible cavities in my son's back teeth--even after I pointed them out. I was told, "we'll monitor them." I had to call back and say, "there are literal holes in his teeth," before they acknowledged anything was wrong. Over 3 to 4 visits, nothing meaningful happened--just delays and vage reassurances. They eventually attempted fillings one day because the owner dentist would be on site. It failed (obviously, he's 4). They then took one x-ray and sent us home. Later, we were told he needed surgery on both front and back teeth. So, we paid a $150 deposit to confirm his surgery at Children's and scheduled his pre-op physical. Then we were told he would receive silver crowns on his front teeth. I said no and asked for alternatives. The only option they gave me was extraction. I said that was unacceptable, and requested composite strips instead. They refused. Most of this communication came from the receptionist, Lendi Roberts--not the dentist directly. I was denied access to speak with the dentist performing surgery. Let me repeat that: I was not allowed to speak to the person who would be putting my 4 year old son under anesthesia! All updates, decisions, and refusals were relayed through Lendi, who called me multiple times per day even after I requested for email/text only communication to keep a record. Many times she threatened to cancel my son's surgery unless I signed off on treatment I didn't agree with. She also signed and dated paperwork falsely, claiming we'd had conversations that never happened. Even after my husband and I finally agreed to move forward with the treatment (just to avoid stress and get my son's teeth fixed asap), we received a message saying our son's surgery was canceled for "lack of communication". That is completely false. We had paid, signed and agreed for silver caps with Lendi on the phone. They didn't like that I asked questions and advocated for my son. This office is not just unprofessional--it is dangerous. They failed to diagnose, pressured us into unwanted treatments, falsified documents, and denied a child surgery he needed because the parent wouldn't blindly comply. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Alabama Board of Dentistry. And PDA, don't bother replying with a generic "We're sorry for your experience, please call us" response. You had plenty of changes to make this right. This review is not for you--it's to protect other families from going through what we did.
