A cute red velvet top for 10$. Impulsively bought a pair of sandals 14$ (above what I would normally pay for secondhand) because I thought they were Michael Kors. They were Anne Klein. Nice location, very clean stores, polite staff. The organization has a general thrift store (kids toys area, a little bit of clothing for men and women, general items), & a furniture store around the corner. This store honestly frustrated me. I go to cause- or benevolent-type thrift stores because I want to support them- in this case, I want to support differently abled adults being trained for work. (I believe this is the org's goal?) This store made it harder for me to spend my money- & I really wanted to! Seemed kinda high end and a bit pricy for a 'thrift store' in my opinion- particularly for women's items and furniture. They had a good range of clothing sizes for women tho. I always hope for a surprise find in thrift stores but this was not going to be one of those places for me-- unless I hoped to spend a few hundred looking for a used designer purse (a la Fendi) or an unusual mini-fridge. I asked about an item in the furniture area & no offer/effort was made to work with me on the (high) ticket price. Usually folks in a cause-related store will work with you because they want to see money generated & they know you're there to support them. Not here/ Got the sense that things are priced & that's that. And when they give you a color tag to look for for a discount of the day, & you don't see any discounted items with that color tag...not fun. (Also guessing that the coveted Matthew location near the Farmers Market is part of the higher prices. But just not as much fun to thrift when a used shirt costs $20.) I did see some kids toys for a range of prices which was nice...but just not a 'thrift' store to me. Maybe I got it wrong? read more

Fantastic second hand shop! Zabs is amazing for finding treasures. It is a Thrift store with a mission to provide job training and jobs to young adults with special needs. I am completely biased because I work here! We are a non-profit thrift boutique. Our mission is to provide job training and paid employment opportunities to adults with special talents (needs). But aside from our awesome mission, it's an amazing place to shop. My husband and I furnished a lot of our home here over the past 3 years and have purchased a like-new sleeper sofa ($175 plus delivery), a NEW showroom-sample queen platform bed frame and headboard ($275, Modway brand retails for over $1000), a dining table with chairs ($125), and I've bought way too many clothes and shoes to count from backroom bargain deals for $1 to $25 for a Caché dress that originally retailed for $250. I really love our atmosphere, the employees with special talents all work really hard to do their jobs well and learn how to provide great, friendly customer service. Don't forget to check out the ZABS Talent display, featuring items created by individuals with special needs who are starting their own micro-businesses! Hard to leave any form of a negative review to a company that supports such a great cause. I will say that it was a bit frustrating to show up on two separate occasions within their posted operating hours to unexpectedly find signs on the door saying that they were closed for the day.....especially when I traveled a fair distance out of my way and battled traffic to check out the store. That's not the store's fault obviously, but it certainly makes it "sting" a bit more! read more

I love popping into ZAbs because you never know what you might find. There has been showroom designer furniture, vintage Pyrex, designer clothing for under $20.00 per item. I have found cute jeans for my boys for around $8.00-$10.00. I have purchased high quality sheet sets for under $20.00 as well. This place seems to get some good donations, but they price things WAY too high! They look up everything on Amazon and then price it near what you can get it for there new. I would also not say ZABS is a true thrift store. It is more of a charity store. They tell you that certain sticker colors are on sale, and then when you bring up s/t with that sticker on it, they say that THAT item is NOT on sale...like a toy with a blue sticker (when all the blue stickers are on sale)?!? I have shopped there about half a dozen times, and I think I'm all done. read more

I am all for a good mom and pop thrift store, however this location is NOT it! While taking a shortcut through town on the way to the dealership I saw this location.. Wasn't all that amazed. Some of the items in the back of the store weren't worth them even trying to sell. For it to be a thrift , they fall short of the boutique feel. Got to the front of the about to leave and I saw two ladies tagging some new items. One item a light fixture, caught my eye, they said they had not priced it yet and they would call me when they did. One lady said they could do it now so I waited. She went online and within seconds she said $183.00. What???? Then she said the item is retail 600. So what???? This is a resale shop and $600 in what year? There are racks with $8 items and $20 things that should be free. I noticed a lot of the glassware items were overpriced and came to the conclusion they have no clue of pricing and don't mind over charging people, as the location will bring an out of towners, like me that will pay the outrageous price not knowing better. They should be ashamed of themselves especially since they pride themselves on hiring young adults with special needs. If that's the case price the items as they should be priced to make SALES to pay those young adults. May it catch DUST! read more
