Well, the strategic planning team at Soapy Joe's must be watching my every move because like a moth to a flame, I was quick to make my way just a hop, skip, and a jump to wash the beast. Sure, she's an old dog, but Joe makes her clean up well. I have no idea how old this operation is but I really love that they're everywhere and I know exactly what I'm going to get. I understand the staff is doing their job- at least that's what the staff member kept saying to himself. A simple "I'm not interested in the membership" doesn't suffice. To which I said "why do you make it so difficult, can I just get a car wash, I'm in a hurry" The attitude initiated at that point, he kept stating he was "just doing his job". I'm definitely hesitant going back here after this encounter. Getting a car wash should be a painless relatively easy transaction. They were kind, patient, and genuinely helpful from start to finish. They walked us through everything, including the oil change, power steering flush, cabin filter, and air filter, and they even showed us the parts so we could see the discoloration and understand why things needed to be replaced. It never felt salesy or pushy. It was just honest people doing great work and making sure we understood what was going on with our car. They also included a car wash, which was such a nice touch. I find the brushes either work for full service or shorten when there is a rush of cars. The shade canvas has been removed so on hot days your car bakes in the hot sun and you have to work fast to ensure you don't get spots! Well that is if there are towels available to dry your car off! The topper was yesterday! I went to make sure my car was spotless as I was taking some friends out and wanted a clean car! The attendant was no where to be seen to guide my car into the car wash. I had to honk the horn to get his attention. He came out of an office chewing down food. Then.... When I parked there were a very few amount towels! The vacuum cleaner was not working! No suction power at all. I tried to use the air hose and that too had no pressure. I pay for a service that I'm not getting! It seems that it's just this location though! I can go out of my way to San Marcos and there I get the full service I wanted like I had in National City! Yet that makes no sense why I have to go out of my way to get the service I am paying for! I asked an employee about this and was informed that things had changed and that air needed to be distributed to the blowers and the low pressure was because of this. Superstar! We are paying you 20$ plus a month and this is an issue ? I also asked if my industrial rubber car mats could be sprayed off because they would not go through the car mat cleaner. Was informed that the policy changed as I have been coming to this location for over five years and have had no issue with this. Specials aren't really specials if the equipment doesn't work. Awful.
